McCoist, moving on!

Earlier this afternoon, it became clear that Ally McCoist would be packing his bags, after handing in his resignation to the Rangers board. There was never any indication of him departing ahead of today but none of that will matter to Rangers and their fans...as they seem to have been dropped in even deeper trouble. McCoist had a few words to say before he left, and we'll listen in now, before taking a look at the favourites to take over.

"I want to thank everyone involved with this amazing club, for making me so welcome here and for making my job a lot easier, the fans, the board...the players, you have been fantastic! We have been through a lot together over the last year or so but we have dealt with it, brilliantly! The memories I can take from my time here, I will treasure always. Now, I must leave this prestigious club, I just can't see myself taking Rangers forward given what has happened to the club, and to my family, and this is me not dealing with it 'brilliantly' I guess. I don't feel it is fair on myself or my family to reveal what has been happening, so I just want you to know...I wouldn't do this unless I really had to, good bye everyone."

Right well, there you have it, there is the reason he'll be leaving but lets take a look at the favourites for the vacancy...

Yes, Scotsman, Kenny Dalglish is the firm favourite for the job although playing for Celtic in the first 9 years of his career, it is believed he is relishing the challenge and wants to try and take Rangers back to where they should be...This certainly won't make Celtic fans happy! 5-1

Alex McLeish, is another great manager who is being linked with Rangers, he has already managed them once starting the job in 2001 going on for 5 years until 2006.
He has been capped for Scotland 77 times and some of his latest managerial positions have been at the likes of Aston Villa, Nottingham Forrest and Birmingham.
3-1
Good update and good luck :)
There are already a couple of Rangers stories so will be interesting to see how you make yours different!
Cheers mate, It is going well at the moment and im positive I can keep it different to others!
Great start, can't wait for the rest of the story!

P.S Pick Kenny Dalglish :)
Best of luck mate! Make sure you don't sell Lewis Macleod whatever you do! Will be following :)
Cheers dean, Macleod has been amazing so that isn't going to happen, and radders, maybe. maybe not;)

Dalglish set for Rangers.

This just in, former Liverpool & Celtic player, Kenny Dalglish, AKA 'king Kenny' has been revealed as the new Rangers manager. Dalglish has had spells at Newcastle & Blackburn as well as becoming the man at the heart of his beloved Liverpool...twice. Through his footballing career, playing and managing, he has won a number of prestigious trophies including the premier league and the European cup, he even managed to end the 6 year silverware drought at Liverpool in 2012 winning the Carling cup now known as the Capital one cup.

It is expected that Rangers fans will have mixed opinions on the appointment of the Scotsman, having played at Celtic for the best part of 9 years however, he also has a successful track record as a manager, and fans, will be having thoughts of glory in the back of their minds, can the 'King' bring glory to Rangers? Well lets listen and see what the man himself thinks;

Hello, everyone. I know that many of you will know who I am and will also disagree with this job being given to me, but I just want to let you all know I am here to bring glory to Rangers and will not stop until I have done what I set out to do. I hope you can all put my playing career to the back of your minds, because what I am here to do has nothing to do with Celtic. I know it may take a while to win most of you over...But don't worry, because that is what I have planned to do, and will do.
Good luck ,

Kenny, happy with pre-season

Two months ago, Kenny Dalglish signed on at Rangers, as manager. people swarmed around like wasps to criticise, however the King thinks that Rangers fans can go to bed with a smile on their faces...for now anyway.

We have done fantastically through pre-season and I am fully confident of a strong start to the season, we have had great wins against the likes of Kilmarnock, we even got a good win at Genoa after whopping Camberslang Rangers 5-0, yes, the critics will try counter my thoughts by reminding everyone of the three losses at Cardiff, Gillingham and Coventry but what do you expect, ey? We're not the team we once were and we will lose every now and then. Anyway...What anyone else says, does not concern me, I am here to do well for Rangers and I will do well, we will start strong and keep going strong.

Nice appointment and decent pre-season :)
The result that stood out the most was the win against Genoa, good result!
Yeah me too, t'was a great game!
Good pre-season mate! :D
Cheers Dean:)

A firm beginning, to a new era?

Rangers football club got off to a fine start to 'A new era' under Kenny Dalglish against Livingston at 15:00PM yesterday, Rangers were the dominant force throughout most of the game and battered Livingston in almost every aspect, except two...Bookings & Fouls.

David Templeton was the first to score under the new manager, a low cross from Lewis MacLeod was sent right to the feet of Templeton in a crowded box, however the left winger had it all to do and just managed to squeeze a shot past the keeper and three other defenders, with the ball ending up in the back of the net.

The second goal came from Livingston in the 71st minute to put the scores level, Manyupa sent Milkie chasing the ball down the right flank who then floated a cross in, which was met by the head of Livingston striker Barrowman, the ball flew into the top right corner of the net. a well worked goal.

19 minutes later Templeton would score his and Rangers' second goal of the game to gather the three points in the dying embers, a scramble for the ball in the Livingston box was cleared by defender Scott, but it only went as far as Templeton who ensured the ball would reach the inside of the net by smashing it high up into the roof of the net, the keeper had no chance.

Well done on your first win :)
