Damiao is something Spurs have needed for the last couple of years, hope you can tie up the deal! Maybe this will kickstart his Brazil career too.
Congrats on the signing of Antoine Griezman
Thank you all for the overwhelming support!
So it looks like Leandro Damiao will finally be getting his move to Spurs... Tried signing him in my save but he bogged off to Monaco! He'll be a great replacement for Jermain Defoe. Be nice to see who comes in if Ade goes off, although £2m is so cheap :o!

I'm sure Griezman will be an amazing signing - he'll give you quality out on the left. A midfield of Lamela - Eriksen - Griezman sounds nice ;)

And good to see Rose stay. He's been actually really good for me in my save.
Nick: Yep, the transfer window has been a bit of a delightful drama ;) The squad looks strong so it won't matter nor hurt if Adebayor stays or goes

Manchester United boss David Moyes has confirmed his interest in Tottenham Hotspur winger, Aaron Lennon.

Moyes is looking to add a new right sided midfielder in a time where Nani is being targeted by Serie A champions, Juventus.

With Wilfried Zaha joining Newcastle United on loan, Moyes feels a player of Lennon’s build and quality could be what Man United need.

“I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t interested in Lennon. We have spoken to Spurs but nothing worth getting excited over has happened yet.

“Lennon is a very objective player and quick off the mark. We have a few of those already here at Man United but you can never have too many quality players of his kind.

“We don’t know yet if we will try to move for him. We are weighing up our options but, as I’d imagine so many other managers in the league are, we are interested in Lennon.”

Lennon has been linked with a move away from Spurs since the arrival of Erik Lamela and Andros Townsend’s return from a loan at Queens Park Rangers.
Would be quite a good move depending on how much you get for him. Both Lamela, Chadli and Townsend can play on the right, just depends on if you want something different as Lennon is more of a winger than Townsend and Lamela.
Great signing the P-KIDDY. Look forward to seeing how Rose does as he is probably one of my favourite players. In other words glad he stayed

Emmanuel Adebayor’s loan move to Benfica has fallen through after the Tottenham Hotspur striker failed to agree terms.

Spurs had accepted a loan offer from Benfica for Adebayor after entering talks with Internacional’s Leandro Damiao but it seems the Portuguese side have failed to free up funds in order to cover the £100,000 a week earned by the Togolese forward.

Benfica’s manager Jorge Jesus revealed he had been hopeful that Adebayor would be willing to take a pay cut but was not surprised to see the deal collapse.

“We offered all we realistically could to sign Adebayor on loan from Tottenham but unfortunately we couldn’t come to an agreement.

“I was hoping a spell of Champions’ League football could lure him in but of course I was aware of the deal not materialising.

“We gave the offer our best shot but it was financially impossible for us to cover his wages in this moment in time.”

Adebayor’s future remains unclear after both West Ham United and Atletico Madrid’s bid fell short of Spurs’ valuation.
That sucks. Always frustrating when you're trying to get rid of someone who's on big wages and no-one comes forward with a decent offer.

Tottenham Hotspur has finally completed the signing of Internacional’s striker Leandro Damiao for a fee of £10.5 million.

Spurs fought off interest from rivals Arsenal once again after the capture of Antoine Griezmann to land Damiao’s signing, their 10th of the summer and third of Paddy’s reign as Tottenham boss.

Tottenham had been in talks with Damiao after their partnership with the Brazilian club enabled Internacional to give Franco Baldini permission to seal the deal.

Damiao signed a four year deal on £46,000 a week and has already set his sights on making a big impression in Europe.

“I’m here to show the world what I can do. The Brazilian league knows what I’m capable of and hopefully, if I prove I can do it on a stage like the Premier League, I can make the Brazil squad in 2014.

“I’m very excited to play in a league like England’s and I have many good friends here like Sandro and Paulinho.”

Damiao, who will now wear the number 18 shirt, appeared 97 times for Internacional and scored a total of 40 goals.

Aaron Lennon has completed his move to Manchester United after Tottenham Hotspur accepted an offer of £11 million.

David Moyes had already revealed an interest in the Tottenham winger and spent no time in recruiting him on a five year contract worth £77,000 a week.

The speedy winger spent a grand total of eight seasons with Spurs and becomes the third player to depart White Hart Lane since the arrival of their new boss, Paddy.

Lennon joined Spurs from Leeds United back in the summer of 2004 for £1 million and appeared a staggering 252 times for the north London club.

The 26 year old, who scored 25 goals for Spurs, will wear the infamous number seven shirt previously worn by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and George Best.
