Meeting the Players

I waltzed out of the owner’s office with a childish grin on my face. I headed on down to the training ground where the team were already practising tactics. The tactic that Moyes had taught them before he left. They looked like their build-up play was quite slow. Something that I had to change. Gary Neville greeted me on the side-lines with a clipboard in hand.

“Here” He said as he passed the paper over to me, “These are the tactics being trained!”

I took a quick look at the tactic, it didn’t look promising. I tore up the piece of paper and took an blank piece.

“We’re not going to be needing this! Thanks Gary!”

“No problem, you’re the boss!” He walked over to his brother Phil and starting talking to him, hopefully nothing bad about me!

I called an end to the training and told the team to huddle around me. Quickly sketching a formation, I explained what they would be working on.

“Hello everyone! You may not know yet, but I am your new manager. Now, I may not be the most experienced choice, but I hope you can all accept me as one of your own!” I said, hopefully they would listen, “Basically, I’m not a big fan of what Moyes has been teaching you, it’s not the Manchester United way. I want to implement fast-paced attacking football, with lots of wing-play. Now, sorry to Valencia, Nani and Young, but I won’t be using you. I just don’t think that you’re Manchester United quality! I mean no offence to you Luis and Antonio, you’re both talented players, but I feel that you’re too inconsistent. And… Ashley, you’re… just crap! This means that I will be bringing in new wingers, but I will be relying on Wilfried and Adnan to perform. I hope that this isn’t putting too much pressure on you. But anyway, the point is, I want you to start practising this 3-5-2 formation. I will photocopy everyone a copy now! Any questions?”

“Yes I do!” Ashley Young raised his hand, “Why do you think I’m crap?”

“You just are, maybe if you put more effort into your performances, and stopped diving, you would be better! Anyone else?”

“Yeah, me!” Patrice Evra stuck his arm in the air, “You aren’t using full-backs in your formations, what about me, Rafael, Fabio and Alexander?”

“You will all be put on the transfer list, sorry, I will be talking to all of you more privately tomorrow. So we will discuss it then! I’ll be off now to photocopy the tactic!”

United sign inexperienced manager

Inexperienced Englishman, Tyler Key has been announced as the new manager of Manchester United.

Key signed a one-year contract with the club yesterday. Inside sources report that he has already met the club and started training his way.

The 24 year-old has been a Manchester United fan for life and was recently given the opportunity to fulfil his life-long dream of being a part of one of the most successful teams in the world. There has been mixed opinions from other fans, one fan saying;

“A lot of people have been complaining about this, and really, they have every right to. But I personally feel that we should give the lad a chance. I mean yes, there is the down-sides, he has no experience, he’s younger than half the players in the squad, but look on the bright side. He’s a fan, so he knows who’s wrong and who’s right for the club. Straight away that’s something he has, that Moyes didn’t! Like I said, just give him a chance!”

Tyler Key has been given a mouth-watering £68million pounds to spend, after the sale of Wayne Rooney for £35million. The money will help in a much needed squad overhaul that Key has told the press he will bring.

Day 2 at Old Trafford (Part 1)

The next day when I went to the training ground, I actually had a plan. A checklist of stuff that I wanted to do. I needed to talk to some of the players in separate groups, but that could wait. It was probably the job that would take the longest so I left that until last. The only other two jobs on the list were to do with the youth team. I wanted to go and watch them play so I could go and pick a couple to bring into the first team for cup games. First though, I checked on the first-team. They were practising my tactic, and, they were doing it well. It looked promising. Gary Neville approached me on the touchline.

“Hi Gary, how are you today?” I asked friendlily, “Is there a problem?”

“Hi Tyler, I’m good,“ He responded, “I wanted to remind you of something! Steve Round went with Moyes to Bury, if you didn’t notice, we currently have no Assistant Manager.”

“Oh crap!” I forgot about that, I didn’t really follow the world of Assistant Managers so I had no idea who to replace him with. I had to do some research. “Okay, thanks Gary, I’ll get on that after training!”

I left for the youth training. Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt were the main youth coaches. Nicky was doing a passing drill with them so I took a chance to talk to Paul.

“Hello Paul, can I take you out for a second?”

“Yeah, sure!”

“Have you got a youth report lying around somewhere?”

“Err, let me check!” He said as he took me to his office.

“Here you go!” He said, grabbing a folder out of a draw.

“Thanks man! That’ll be all!”

I dusted off the folder and took the papers out.

I put the papers back into the folder and took it with me back to the training ground.
Im loving this! very very good update dude and im enjoying this

Day 2 at Old Trafford (Part 2)

I walked onto the training ground and Phil Neville was practising some skills with them. I walked up and asked for everyone’s attention. Everyone but Anderson looked over, who was unable to do keepy-uppies.

“Hello everyone! I said that I would have some chats with the team today so I will be taking groups of you out at different times, the rest of you carry on with training.” I looked at my checklist, “Can I have Robin, Michael, Nemanja, Chris, David, Phil, Juan and Shinji please!”

I walked them off the pitch and onto the touchline to talk to them.

“Okay, so as you may have noticed, you guys are my star players. David, you are a very talented goalkeeper with bags of potential and I expect you to do an adequate job in between the sticks. Nemanja, Phil and Chris, you guys are my key defenders. I will be counting on you three to defend the goal like there’s no tomorrow! Throwing you self into tackles, but not coming out carded. Next, Michael. You are very experienced and a player who can create and defend goals. Juan and Shinji, you may both be in the same positions, but you will get just as much game time as each other. You’re both great players! And last but not least, Robin Van Persie. You are a great player and I believe that you can get scoring very often. I just want to say to all of you are key players and I want you to work really hard and pull together for a great season! Any questions?”

“Yes me!”

“Go ahead, Shinji!”

“I don’t really want to disappoint you, but, I want to leave!”

My heart sunk. I couldn’t do with this!

“Come on Shinji, you’ll be getting game-time!”

“Sorry, I just see my future away from this club!”

I sighed, “Fine! I’ll transfer list you tomorrow, you can all return to training.”
Wow Shinji... Well, I prefer Mata but it'll be sad to see Shinji leave :(
Disappointing to see Kagawa leave as he is a class player but hopefully you will bring in a good replacement :)
Captain - Definitely!
Jason - Thanks man!
Josh - I prefer Mata as well!
Pompey - You can count on me :P
