Great update man with a good pre-season! :)

COVENTRY STUN BIRMINGHAM

Late cup dramatics as League 1 side Coventry City earn a first round win over Championship side Birmingham City with Leon Clarke scoring the winner in the last minute of extra time.

The game had a very quiet first half, with Birmingham carving the Coventry defence open but striker Lee Novak could not finish, which summed up the night for the English forward.

Novak had numerous chances to but the Blues in-front and missed every chance he had, resulting in a bad day at the office for the player.
Midfielder Wade Elliot taught Novak how to finish when he scored from short range in the 88th minute which meant the Coventry were surely out.

However Coventry equalised when Leon Clarke scored from 20 yards to push the game into extra time.
Again Lee Novak have many chances for Birmingham but just like the last 90 minutes, he could not finish, and it proved to be very costly as in the 120th minute, Leon Clarke picked up the ball in the final third, darted round two players before placing the ball past Darren Randolph which earnt his side a first round win.

Leon Clarke (right) scoring the equaliser in the 90th minute.

We spoke to new manager Josh Slater who said this:
"I am very proud of my players! They did a great job to turn the game around and get us a vital win. Leon was excellent today getting those two goals but you have to say it was a team effort and they all should be proud of themselves."
Great win!
@kubik - Thank you mate! :)
@Jack - Thanks man! :)
@Cosmin - Thanks! Yeah, I agree, we've had a great pre-season!
@Tyler69 - Yep, I couldn't believe what I was watching!
Big up, mate, such a big win!

COVENTRY DRAW FULHAM IN THE CAPITAL ONE CUP

Giant Killers, Coventry City are set to face Premier League side Fulham in the Capital One Cup second round.
This will be a great game for the neutrals as Coventry have already killed off one giant, Birmingham City, in the first round of the cup, whereas Fulham have just entered the cup.

The attention will be on striker Leon Clarke after he netted twice against Birmingham to send Coventry through, whereas for Fulham, their best chance of winning is if Berbatov can receive good service.

It will be an interesting tie which will take place on Tuesday 27th August.
This is going to be harder, but not impossible, mate! :) Good luck.
@Cosmin - Yep it'll be tough but we'll give it a go!

ADAM PEARSON COMPLETES COVENTRY TAKE OVER

The club are delighted to announce that business man Adam Pearson has completed a take-over from Administrator Adam West.
Mr. Pearson's first priority is to get our club into a stable financial condition and to get back our stadium once again.

Mr. Pearson used to be the owner of Hull City but has decided to help out Coventry and take them back to former glory.
This is a great time for our club and we wish Mr. Pearson the best and we thank him dearly.

Hope that Pearson will give you a lot of money!
Great news, mate!
@AAN - Yeah me too, he's just repaying the debts currently.
@Cosmin - Yep, couldn't believe it! Future looks much brighter now!

AUGUST REPORT - REGAINING POINTS

My first month as a manager is going to be quite tricky, with games against Bristol City and Preston North End. Also two cup games to go into which could be very tough for us depending on the opponents.

First game of the season and for me as a manager, It was a very dull game with only a few half chances, overall I'll take this result as we start to cut down that minus 10 point deficit.

First cup game against a strong Birmingham City team and against all the odds, we won! Leon Clarke getting two goals in the last minute of normal time and then in the last minute of extra time! Undeserved? Maybe, but a win is a win!

Second league game against recently relegated Bristol City, they undoubtedly have the better players than us however we played excellent, with Carl Baker at the centre of things yet again and Leon Clarke proving to me why he is my first choice striker, great win!

We should of won that game... We were creating chances left, right and centre... Carl Baker getting a great goal but only to be cancelled out by Lewis Guy.

Decent draw against a very good Preston team, they had many chances but our defence and goalkeeper stayed firm and earnt a very good point.

How did we lose this game?! We had so many chances! Leon Clarke scored our only goal, he's in great form currently!

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

He's got us lots of goals this month and it was a hard choice between him and Carl Baker, but Leon has had the better form and that's why he was got this award.

LEAGUE TABLE

We are still on negative points but one more win would see us into positive figures.
A good month!

Young English centre back Aaron Martin has announced that he has joined Coventry City on loan for the rest of the season, just a few days after Coventry were took over.

Martin, 23, is delighted to have joined Coventry and is very happy about getting more first team football, as he has had a lack of it at Southampton.
Coventry manager Josh Slater has said this about Aaron Martin:
"Aaron is a quality player who will offer us a lot over the course of the season. I am very happy to have brought him in and I hope he performs well for us."

This is Coventry's first signing this season, who have been recently been took over by Adam Pearson and have had a transfer embargo lifted from them.
