You have made some cracking signings there. I am a big fan of Flanagan so I do hope he manages to get some game time for your squad!

Liverpool Scouts Watch Obita

Liverpool scout Kevin Cruickshank was spotted in the stands of The Madejski Stadium during Reading's friendly victory over Basingstoke. It is rumoured that he was sent by manager Brendan Rodgers, in order to take a closer look at 19-year-old, Jordan Obita. The Oxford born player started for manager Nigel Adkins, but could a move to Anfield be on the cards? It has been reported that Liverpool have had a transfer offer accepted, and discussed contract terms with the winger. Obita did not manage to score during the pre-season, but several impressive displays earned him attention from the Merseyside club.

On hearing the reports, Obita responded, saying: "Really? They had scouts there? I'm flattered. Completely. I don't know what to say. I love the club that I am at, but of course, Liverpool is one of Europe's top clubs. I can't tell you that the rumours of a contract offer for me are true, because they aren't. But if they were to offer me a contract, I think I'd jump at the chance."
I really like Obita. He's really promising and can grow into a very good winger, sign him up!
Great signings mate! Pjanic it's amazing!

Sebastian Rode challenges Bayern Munich's Philipp Lahm.

Eintracht Frankfurt's Sebastian Rode is the subject of official interest from Liverpool, confirms manager Brendan Rodgers. The defensive midfielder from Germany had already told Kicker that he intends to let his contract, which ends in Summer of next year, run out, and will discuss terms with other clubs before his contract is up. Liverpool, who sold Brazilian Lucas Leiva, who plays the same position as Rode, recently said that they would not be looking to buy another player for the role. The 22-year-old was linked to Bayern Munich months ago, and he is highly rated in his homeland.

But with the player able to be approached on a free transfer in the new year, it seems his time with Frankfurt is up. The player claims that Arsenal, who play in the English Premier League, have his idol in their team - Czech midfielder Tomáš Rosický, who once played for Rode's supported team, Dortmund. This should be welcome news for Brendan Rodgers. Rode may be up for a move to England, if it means being able to go up against a player who he respects so much. Rodgers declared an interest in the player yesterday, with assistant manager Steve Clarke delivering the message to a reporter from BBC Radio Merseyside.

"Brendan and I are very keen on signing Sebastian Rode. Having watched him play, we are confident that he will be a fantastic signing. Of course, we know that Bayern [Munich] were interested a while back, so we're not going to be the only ones interested. To have a team like that after you, suggests that you are a quality player. As he is available for nothing in January, a lot of teams will be interested. But we remain confident of attracting him to the club. We hope that Sebastian is in a Liverpool shirt come this time next season."

James O'Brien, the reporter, then went on to write about how he felt that Rodgers and Clarke should not have mentioned their interest in the player, as it would alert other clubs. With the player dead set on leaving, Mr O'Brien has left for Germany, in order to get the players' reaction to the interest.
Hope you can get your man lad! Some cracking signings already well done! Can't wait for this to kick off! :) Loving the updates!!

After it was announced that Liverpool had declared interest in him last week, Frankfurt's Sebastian Rode has told Bild.de that he needs to move in order to make the most of his career. Speaking directly to journalist James O'Brien, Rode first spoke directly to Brendan Rodgers, who manages Liverpool.

"I am delighted that a club of Liverpool's stature is showing an interest in me. But I don't want to get too ahead of myself, because otherwise, I will be disappointed if the interest doesn't end up in an eventual bid. I must tell Brendan Rodgers now, however, that if Bayern [Munich] come back in for me, like they were reported to do earlier this year, that it is not likely that Liverpool will be the team I choose. I have always wanted to play for Bayern, despite supporting Dortmund, but I know that they have so many talented players in their squad, so I may be off the radar."

Rode then went on to tell Bild that he needs to move from Frankfurt.

"I love the club. They have done so much for me. But they, unfortunately, are not enough to match my ambitions. I owe it to myself to look for a bigger club, something that I see Liverpool and Bayern as. If the club [Frankfurt] go on to do well this season, I'll be delighted, of course. But I need to think about my own career. The club is bigger than I, so they'll find it easy to replace me. I wished that I would be able to bring some cash in for the club, but unfortunately, I wasn't offered a new contract until it was too late, and so it looks like I will leave for nothing. I thank the supporters and staff for all they have done for me and my career."

William Carvalho Joins from Sporting Lisbon

Liverpool FC is delighted to announce the signing of William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of £2.5 million.

The 21-year-old has been signed following the departure of defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva to Paris Saint-Germain, and Brendan Rodgers has decided to bring in a younger option as the Brazilian's replacement.

The Portuguese player speaks fluent English, and so will not need anyone brought in to help him settle in. Should he be unsettled by his new surroundings, however, he will not have the comfort of former team-mate Tiago Ilori, who is out on loan to Liga BBVA outfit Granada.

He spent last two seasons out on loan at Belgian side Cercle Brugge, making 48 apperances, and scoring 3 goals. Brendan Rodgers has stated his intentions to send the midfielder out on loan to a Premier League side.

Carvalho is not the only defensive midfielder who was on the Liverpool radar, with German midfielder Sebastian Rode also thought to be closing in on a move to Anfield. Carvalho was reportedly a target for David Moyes' Manchester United squad, with the Scotsman thought to have considered activating the players' minimum fee release clause of £38 million.
Wow, 2.5 million!!! What a bargain!
Nice signing in Carvalho, really hope the Rode deal comes through for you because he's a great player!
Don't actually know anything about Carvalho, but 2.5M is a good price for a young player. Hopefully he develops into a star for you! :D
Yeah, I'm not the only one Adam^ ;) Nice signing! :P

Official: Liverpool Turn Down Loan Bid

Liverpool FC have turned down a loan move from Sporting CP for Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho.

The 21-year-old joined from Sporting just days ago for a fee of £2.5 million, and Brendan Rodgers had stated his intentions to get the player out on loan. But Rodgers was not so keen, however, to send Carvalho back to his former club.

"I had made it very clear that we were open to loan offers for William, and Sporting were very patient in the advances that they made to bring him back, but unfortunately, we had to say no. Perhaps I should have made it clearer, but the only clubs that we want William to go to are Premier League clubs.

Myself and the coaching team here feel that it is vital that he experience what it is like to play here in England, and it will be a tough season for the lad, but it will really help him. Next season, he'll be back here, fighting it out for a place in the squad. We've also received bids from Sky Bet Championship sides, and although it would still help William, I think that the best place for him will be the top flight. I will be paying close attention to his progress, and I am confident he will impress while away from Anfield."

Carvalho had asked Rodgers if he could go back to Sporting on hearing of the offer, but Rodgers was firm, and Carvalho was happy to go along with his new manager's wishes. This season could show fans what a talent the youngster is, and the Liverpool faithful will be watching out for stunning performances from him.
It's a good idea to loan him out to a Premier League side as he can learn how to play in the league! Nice update as per usual!
Some great signings mate who hopefully will help contribute to a great season! ;)
