21 players sign for Scarborough

Gary Neville has added big to make his squad for the upcoming season

Scarborough Lions have announced the signings of 20 players. Key signings include a £30million deal for Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a £34million deal for Real Madrid centre back Raphaël Varane and a £25million deal for Eliaquim Mangala.

Other signings include Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton, Will Hughes from Derby, Jack Rodwell from Manchester City, Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn, Dan Burn from Fulham and Jordan Henderson from Liverpool.

The reported outlay is £334million.

Gary Neville said
"I know 20 players at one time is a lot, but we are running out of time for building a squad. The team I have got now is very strong and can be competitive. There could be more signings as well."

A list of all the signings is below
The look on Varane's face is golden xD It's like "WHAT did you just say to me?". Some very good signings - Volland, Doria, Werner, Nkoulou and Mangala are all brilliant :)

Scarborough Sign Striker

Spanish wonderkid Jesé signs for the Lions

AFC Scarborough Lions have signed Spanish striker Jesé from Real Madrid for a fee of £29.5million. The pacy striker, who has a great future ahead of him, revealed his delight in an interview with the clubs TV channel.

"To think that a player like Gary Neville wants you to sign for his club is amazing. I loved watching him play when I was younger. To be managed by him is unreal for me."

Gary Neville said

"Jesé has a great future ahead of him, but also can make an impact now. He is a different type of player to Jordan, and I'm sure do well with us."

He will take the number 11 shirt.

Gary Neville's August Review

The manager's review of Scarborough's first month in football

Tottenham Hotspur (H), Premier League, FT:0-0
Line Up

Michael Dawson (Tottenham)

Neville's Opinion
This was a good start to life in the Premier League. We controlled the game and were unlucky to not score. We had 16 shots compared to Tottenham's 8. We had more possession as well, which shows our domination.

Fulham (A), Premier League, FT:2-2
Line Up

Antoine Griezmann (Scarborough)
Darren Bent (20, Fulham)
Jordan Rhodes (56, Scarborough)
Antoine Griezmann (89, Scarborough)
Hugo Rodallega (90+1 (PEN), Fulham)

Neville's Opinion
This game was disappointing in many ways. We had a poor pass completion rate, and by 24 minutes in, we had had no shots at all. I though we had won it late on when Griezmann put in a fantastic freekick from long range, but we conceded a late penalty, which they scored from.

Charlton Athletic (A), Capital One Cup, FT:3-1
Line Up

Lawrie Wilson (Charlton)
Marvin Sordell (11, Charlton)
Simon Chruch (16, Charlton)
Jesé (29, Scarborough)
Lawrie Wilson (52, Charlton)

Neville's Opinion
This is the worst performance so far. We should have won this confortably, but we didn't turn up, and now we are out. We had more shots and possession, but we couldn't make them count. The only good thing to come from this game is that on his debut, Jesé scored his first goal for the club.

Liverpool (H), Premier League, FT:1-1
Line Up

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Jesé (65, Scarborough)
Steven Gerrard (90+3 (PEN), Liverpool)

Neville's Opinion
Our best game of the season. We didn't dominate, but we made the chances we had count, which we haven't done so far. Jesé scored another goal, until another late late penalty let Liverpool have the points.

League Table

We sit 12th in the league, with three points. Should have had all the points against Fulham and Liverpool.

Player of the Month

Jesé

The Spanish wonderkid scored 2 goals in two games for us, what more could you ask for?

Mate, you've done some amazing transfers..but you have to be patient with them!
I can see that you are not afraid to spend some of that Wal-Mart money.
A tough first month on the pitch but give all the new players some time to come together as a team and you will be fine.

DEADLINE DAY: SCARBOROUGH SIGN TWO

Lucas and Khedira join the Lions

As a busy Transfer Deadline day takes place acroos the globe, new club AFC Scarborough Lions have announced that Sami Khedira has joined the club from Real Madrid for a fee of £15million and Brazilian winger Lucas Moura has joined from French Champion's PSG for an undisclosed fee.

Manager Gary Neville said

"I am delighted to get my two men, We probably overpaid for Lucas, and that is why it is an undisclosed fee!"

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that club captain Jordan Henderson is looking to leave the club today.

"I have fallen out with Gary, and no longer want to be a part of this club."

This big turn of events is unlucky for the club, and gives a bad reputation to manager Gary Neville. It is likely that the club will accept bids under £12million for the England international that they paid £23million pounds for at the beginning of the window.

Lions confirm squad for season

Jordan Henderson is not in the final squad, despite not being sold

Goalkeepers

Defenders

Midfielders

Strikers
Way to play hardball gaffer! I hate it when players whine. You whine, you don't play! Try loaning him to a lower league while you are at it :D

Love your signings. Volland is a beast, I hope to see him netting some goals soon.
Really good start, good luck!

Gary Neville's September Review

The manager's review of an up and down month

Swansea (H), Premier League, FT:0-3
Line Up

Michu (Swansea)
Wilfried Bony (19, Swansea)
Álvaro Vázquez (28, Swansea)
Wilfried Bony (70, Swansea)

Neville's Opinion
This was very poor as it was a winnable game for us. We couldn't keep possession, gave it away cheaply and were beaten by balls over the top 3 times, which led to 3 goals.

Sunderland (A), Premier League, FT:0-2
Line Up

Emanuele Giaccherini(Sunderland)
Adam Johnson (57, Sunderland)
Ignacio Scocco (68, Sunderland)

Neville's Opinion
This was a tale of two half. In the first half, we looked threatening, defended as a unit and attacked with confidence, and looked like the goal would come. In the second half, we didn't have enough possession, bad pass accuracy and not tackling, wanted the ball. We then conceded from 2 headers yet again.

Norwich (A), Premier League, FT:0-2
Line Up

Kevin Volland (Scarborough)
Kevin Volland (34, Scarborough)
Kevin Volland (36, Scarborough)

Neville's Opinion
What a performance from the Lions. Norwich were on a 4 match winning run, and sitting 2nd in the league, and could go top. We dominated them.

League Table

We could be higher, as poor defeats occurred, but at least we are not in the relegation zone, but hang dangerously above it.
Player of the Month

Kevin Volland

Gave us the first win of our maiden Premier League campaign, and single-handedly did it.

Love the detail that you've put in to this, especially with the kits! Keep it up!

Henderson: When is he going to be sacked?

Former club captain Jordan Henderson heaps pressure on manager

In an exclusive interview for our latest magazine, we spoke to England International Jordan Henderson on his career.

You started your career at Sunderland. What was it like to make your debut for such a well known club?

"It was fantastic! Being from Sunderland, playing for my local club is what I dreamt of! The support they showed for me in the years I played for them, was amazing! It is such a good club!"

How did it feel when Liverpool came knocking?

"When my agent spoke to me about it, I couldn't believe it! He had to tell me over and over. I just couldn't say no."

Your move to Scarborough, it is safe to say, hasn't been a success. What is your view on it?

"It was the biggest mistake of my life. When I joined the club, it felt great. Neville said he wanted me to be club captain, an offer I couldn't refuse. He seemed to know what he was talking about. The atmosphere around the club felt amazing. But how could I could have been so wrong."

What is your relationship with the manager like now?

"We don't speak. In fact, we avoid eye contact. He fact he didn't sell me and just really annoyed me. After the results of the recent weeks, how has he not been sacked?"

That is a bold statement to make, what is he going to make of it?

"I simply do not care. It's the truth. He will come along and say something, for sure, I just can't see why Alan Shearer hasn't sacked yet!"
Wow, Henderson really attacking his manager! Great update :)
Just caught up on this. I love stories like this! Great team you have. Hopefully they will fully gel together as you have a team that can push for the title
