Round of 16

Adelaide United arrived in China with a very depleted squad and it was to prove costly as we took total control of the match and raced to a 3-0 lead with goals from Diego Forlan and Zheng Long. Long went onto bag a brace, Adelaide United did pull a late goal back but it seems like nothing but a consolation.
overall im very happy with the result and the professional manner my players took the whole match
]

our Chinese compatriots Shandong Luneng weren't so lucky in their first leg as they went down to Seoul

Mile Jedinak blow

Guangzhou Evergrande have been dealt a huge blow as midfielder Mile Jedinak has been injured in training and is ruled out for 2 months
Jedinak injured? Ouch! Nice updates though.

yeah hes gone and done himself a mischief with some ligament damage, we should be able to cover him though
Good solid win!

Adelaide United vs Guangzhou Evergrande
round of 16 second leg

we went to Hindmarsh Stadium knowing that an early goal would be crucial to seeing us through in this match and it only took 3 minutes to get the goal I set us out to get, Hao Junmin silencing the Adelaide faithful with a delicious chip that left the keeper rooted to the spot, Diego Forlan made it 2-0 with a bullet of a shot that hit the underside of the crossbar before crossing the line. that goal virtually ending the match as a contest.
thats the way the scores stayed until fulltime sending us into the quarter final

heres the remainder of the ties, and most notably current Asian Champions League holders Jeonbuk Motors are still left in the draw and we will be hoping to avoid them when the draw is made on June 28th
Rumour Mill

Guangzhou Evergrande have reportedly made an offer for Sunderland centre back Craig Gardner, the deal is rumoured to be very close to completion. with Sunderland recently being relegated from the Barclays Premier League, Gardner is open to a move abroad
can this team have enough legends! :)
I read the whole story and it is class!!!!! Gardner will be a great signing and I hope you ge thim :)
@Fzemdegs haha, well ill be selling Jordi Amat and I dont think ill be keeping Diego Forlan past this season

@JasonVilla4ever thanks mate, ill be competing with other clubs for his signature but I think I can lure him with our money :)
Just read your whole story, very impressive!

You've got a good team there and I didnt realise there was that much money in the Chinese league!

Good luck in the Champions League :)
May

May started with a bang absolutely destroying Dongya 3-0 and then beating fierce rivals Beijing 1-0, we ended the month with a harder than predicted 2-1 win over Shenzhen

after 11 games we sit atop the ladder by 5 points and are starting to really clcik into gear. ill be expecting us to stay on top until seasons end
Excellent as always Toon. Some big names, love to see that in an obscure league. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of this season unfold :)
In control of the league once again and putting together a great champions league campaign, great stuff!
@Fmhunter thanks mate, stay tuned cause im eyeing a real big signing in the next 6 months that will blow everyone out of the water

@Griffo its good to be back in control after a slow start to the season,we should be able to power on now, my focus is definitely on the Asian Champions League

June

June began with a win against A'erbin, which set the tone for the rest of the month registering 3 wins and draw, we still remain undefeated in all competitions since march
]

we still remain top of the Chinese Super League and cant really see anyone stopping us on our way to another title, Renhe appear to be our only real challengers

The third round of the Chinese FA cup has drawn us against Shanghai Shenhua, this is a match we really should be winning and i expect us to progress to the next round

our run in the Asian Champions league continues in this quarter final clash with Al-Nassr, i dont really know to much about this opponent so we will have to be wary of threats they may pose
