Decent month, fell off a bit toward the end but keep fighting and you'll return to winning ways! In and around the playoff positions right now, I think you could definitely at least make the playoffs come season's end :)

Managers Thoughts

Another very decent month. Pushing for play-offs now yet, if i'm honest, i'm happy with a top half finish. The win over Middlesbrough, who were second in the league at the time, is possibly the highlight of the season so far and hopefully we can push on and keep doing well. Tom Lawrence has being a great, consistent, season so far and I am really happy with his development.
decent month by the looks of it, If you keep things solid for the coming months there is no reason why u cant get promotion :)
Neal As much as I would love to reach the play-offs I think the competition is too strong his season. Even if I did somehow reach the play-offs and somehow fluke them, I think the team would not be ready from the prem tbh.

toonman It was a good month yes and hopefully I can keep it up, however, as I said to Neal I do believe it's a bit too early to fight for promotion.
Great story so far Zapdos, performing admirably with a squad your size in the Championship :D Keep it up.

Rotherham loan Curtis Main

Middlesbrough striker Curtis Main has moved to Rotherham on a loan deal until the end of the season.
With the loan deadline coming up manager Steve Evans has quickly announced his capture of Middlesbrough striker Curtis Main on loan. This loan will last until the end of the season with Rotherham paying 50% of his wage with an extra £7k per month. Main can be recalled at any time during his loan if Middlesbrough wish to do so. Curtis Main scored 12 goals in 35 appearances for Brentford in the Championship and Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka stated that he wants Curtis to prove himself one more time before judging his future.

Managers Thoughts

This month is yet another good month and I for one am actually starting to believe we could actually make the play-offs, I don't care about winning them but getting there would be outstanding and unbelievable and if we continue as we are there isn't any reason why we can't reach them. The loss to Brighton at the start was disappointing as I thought we played well enough to get something out of it. We then played exceptionally well against Palace and Blackburn but then got robbed by Wolves and a 93rd minute equaliser. Curtis Main has started to score at the end of the month and Tom Lawrence has been outstanding in the Advanced Playmaker role, I really think he can become something special if he continues as he is.

Managers Thoughts

We started off this month really well with 3 wins, we played some really nice football during them games and really deserved our 9 points. However coming up to the Sheffield United game we suffered a few injuries, 2 of which being Nigel and Curtis (our only strikers). The Sheffield United and Doncaster games were struggles and I am annoyed that we didn't put up more of a fight. But we started to get players back and ended the month a way in which I hope we start next month. We get away from league football in the FA Cup next game and I really hope we put up a good fight against Liverpool.

ROTHERHAM UNITED v LIVERPOOL

Matt Smith (MS): It's this time of year again. The FA Cup is back in full swing and you join me today watching 2 teams flying high in their divisions. Liverpool are currently 2 points clear of Chelsea at the top of the division and are hoping to have another FA Cup run and do one better than last season and win the cup. However don't discount the underdogs, Rotherham United are also doing well in the league below. Rotherham are currently lying in a play-off spot.

Roy Keane (RK): I actually reckon we are about to witness a very good game today. You have to teams out wanting to carry on good form and even though Liverpool are undeniable favourites you can't discount Rotherham because they definalty have players that can hurt you.

Gareth Southgate (GS): Well I discounted Rotherham last season against West Ham and they proved me wrong but I really, really cannot see them doing well this time. I think that with the quality that Liverpool have, they can win this one very easily.

RK: It's all about whether they come out with the right menatility and I bet that Brendan Rodgers has watched a few of Rotherhams games and thought to himself, hey this is not a bad side and we can't underestimate them. I think Brendan will play to his strengths and Liverpool will win this.

MS: Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 8 games, do you think that this will maybe make Liverpool a little bit complacent?

GS: Not at all, Liverpool want to win this FA Cup you just know that. They want to evenge their final defeat last year and they won't underestimate anyone or get complacent you would think.

K: Liverpool know that Rotherham aren't push-overs and they have the quality, I really think they will easily win.

GS: I think they will to.

Line-Ups

The Game

2' Lars Bender makes a good run into the Rotherham half and finds Suarez who darts into the penalty box and has a shot, however Bunn gets enough onto it to parry it away. The resulting corner is headed over by Skrtel

15' GOAL!!! Rotherham 0 - 1 Liverpool. Reece Brown holds up the ball outside the area and finds Suarez who knocks it straight on towards Borini. Borini sprints into the box taking on 2 players and slots it past a stranded Bunn.

22' A Liverpool throw-in lands to the feet of Lennon. Lennon holds onto the ball and finds Lars Bender who, from 30 yards out, decides to hit a shot. It is curling into the top corner but out of nowhere Bunn comes up with an unbelievable save to keep the score as it is.

40' Suarez makes a break through the Rotherham defence and is in clear on goal, however, Jordan Spence somehow manages to catch up to the Uruguayan and put in a textbook tackle.

42' GOAL!!! Rotherham 0 - 2 Liverpool. A corner is taken by Liverpool and it is fumbled around in the box and Rotherham miss a few chances to clear it. It falls to Skrtel who keeps his head calm and slots it home from 2 yards out.

44' A chance goes begging for Rotherham. A brilliant passing move instigated by Tom Lawrence ends up with Nicky Adams running into the box. Adams finds youngster Ismail H'Maidet running in on the opposite side to the box with a beautiful ball and all H'Maidet has to do is pass it in and yet somehow he has put it wide.

HT

Substitution (RTM): Ismail H'Maidet off, Michael O'Connor on.
Substitution (LVP): Joe Allen off, Steven Gerrard on.

72' GOAL!!! Rotherham 1 - 2 Liverpool. A fantastic counter-attack by Rotherham. Spence picks it up in the full-back position and puts in a wonderfull ball into on-rushing Nicky Adams. Adams finds his way past Jose Enrique and puts in a cross to the backpost and 20 year-old Tom Lawrence is there to poke it in. Is this comeback time?
Substitution (RTM): Conor Newton off, Jack Price on.

84' GOAL!!! Rotherham 1 - 3 Liverpool. A promising attack by Rotherham turns into despair. Tom Lawrence is dispossesed on the edge of the Liverpool box by Bender who lumps the ball up the field. Byran Webster looks as if he is easily getting the ball but somehow manages to mishead it straight into the path of Suarez who as the easiest of finishes. Comeback off.
Substitution (RTM): Byran Webster off, Craig Morgan on.

Managers Thoughts

This month we saw the good, the bad and the ugly. We started off with 2 disappointing defeats against Ipswich and Millwall, these games went very much against the way we have been playing in games before and we played very poorly. Confidence started to build as we ground out to draws against 2 good teams and ending the month with a win was pleasing. The fact that we are still in and around the play-offs is amazing. I don't know how this season will end but I know that right now we are doing so much better than I expected!
Just found the time to read through the whole of this story. As much as I adore the banner (don't know who made it ;) ), I adore the story even more. What a turn around from the first season where you did brilliantly in staying up, to now looking at a challenge for promotion. Well written, great story - its just f*****g brilliant mate! Well done and keep up the great work.

Managers Thoughts

This season is going to end up being so close, as it always is. There are so many teams gunning for a play-off spot and I can't believe we are actually one of them. We really are in a battle for promotion, someone pinch me. I keep the fact that if we do not get a play-off spot I won't be disappointed but that is certainly now the aim, the team are playing very well. This month was slightly disappointing with the 2 defeats, the first of which we truly deserved. However, the second defeat we did not deserve, we played fantastically but football can be cruel and Birmingham seemed to get the luck that game. We played some very good football in all the games but sadly we could not come out with more points.
Nicky Adams named Player of the Month

http://www.themillers.co.uk/cms_images/player/adams-4x3-2271-1330581_478x359.jpg

Rotherham winger Nicky Adams has been named Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for February.

Nicky Adams has been the highlight at The New York Stadium this month scoring 3 goals in 4 appearances, including a brace against Birmingham, as he took Rotherham into the play-off spots.

On receiving the award, Nicky Adams said: "Being picked as the best player in your division for a month is a wonderful feeling and I would like to thank everyone involved. I knew it was the right decision to join Rotherham and now I have this to back it up. I have been really enjoying my football recently and I would like to thank my manager and the whole team for this."
"We have a fantastic team here and the bonding has been unbelievable. I have only been at

Rotherham half a year and yet I feel as I have been playing with these lads all my life. We are as one and as one we are Rotherham United"

Rotherham manager Steve Evans said: "The whole team are delighted with Nicky. He has came into the squad after a successful League 2 campaign and has made the step-up we all hope he would make and this just proves it."

Fellow team-mate and captain Byron Webster said: "Yes Nicky has had a great month, but it is how we play as a team that is important. Nicky has been given the award but it's a team effort and I know that he will know this."

Nicky Adams started his career at Bury and played 77 games there until moving to Leicester City for 100k in 2008. Since then the Welshman has Rochdale, Brentford, Leyton Orient and Crawley until a successful stint back at Bury last season caused from Rotherham and a move worth 425k. So far Nicky has played 35 games for The Millers, scoring 10 goals and creating 8, winning 2 Man of the Matches.
Another slightly inconsistent month but what's important is you're in the playoff spots! Keep it going! :D

Managers Thoughts

This was another very inconsistent month and if we continue like this I really can't see us grabbing a play-off space. We started this month very poorly with the defeats to Middlesbrough and Swansea in which we really did not play well in. We came back very well from these 2 defeats with 2 wins against Crystal Palace and Norwich. These results were both very pleasing, especially the Palace game in which we had to fight back from 2-0 down. The Brighton result was unlucky with a late equaliser but this inconsistency has really been the story of our season. I hope that, if we don't fluke promotion, we can be a lot more consistent next season.
