Robben to Bayern München. It's sad that Real sold Robben as he was one of the better players in the pre-season.

Yes , I agree with the Robben-thing. but I can't help but feel it's a last desperate attempt to get Bayern to let go of Ribery

not at all, ribery will stay this season with bayern. and next season depending on his relationship with the manager and how well bayern do im quite sure ribery can stay on for another year even.
but Sneijder to Inter.
i would have really liked him at United. and 18m for Sneijder isnt even bad. but but.
I am a Madrid supporter, but forcing Sneijder and Robben out like that was really disgusting. Sneijder was probably the best player at Madrid 2 seasons ago and just struggled to play under Ramos, while Robben was far and away our best player last season. And yeah, i agree with the Ribery statement as he never openly siad he wanted to leave Bayern
NsaneAxeman : It just shows you how the English leagues are compared to Scotland. A good quality player signing for the lowest tier of English league football when the majority of the teams in the Scottish premier couldn't even get anyone close to his stature.
Looks like Sneijder is also heading from Real to Inter for 16million Euros.
Still hoping to see some big names go to the Premier but it's looking increasingly unlikely.
Dont understand why your having a pop at the Scottish league the guy knocked back premiership clubs to go to Notts C so is league 2 a bigger league than the premiership ?

I said a player of that stature, not Sol Campbell exactly. After watching all the SPL teams in europe so far I think it's pretty obvious why I'd have a pop at the Scottish league. It's dismal viewing and it means a lot of Scottish players miss out on european experience again.
well actually scotland have done very well in football and european football for a small country like them.
i mean countries like spain, italy, france, england and germany will always be a bit above the smaller countries, you got more people=more players=more teams etc etc.

rumours saying David Villa has been spotted in Manchester :p not to city to united of course. but still rumours.
1 hour is it til the transfer window closes?

Scotland probably did overachieve during the european championships but I'd still of expected them to beat Macedonia and perform better in some of the other matches. Domestically we've got a bit worse, I'd of expected Aberdeen to have a tighter match than to lose 8-1 on agg to Sigma Olomouc, same for Motherwell and Hearts. Celtic I thought would lose to Arsenal but not as badly as they did. I didn't have much hope for Falkirk to progress either.
That only leaves Rangers in the champions league and Celtic in the europa cup. I hope they do well but I doubt they will.
As for country size, I believe we're bigger than Croatia and countries like Switzerland,Denmark and Serbia ain't that much more populated than us.
I just think it'd be nice for home grown talent to get the chance to play against a different type of opposition in order to improve themselves.
Edit : I heard the rumours were David Silva.

Scottish football dont have a team with a multi million investor they have to live within there means im sure if a consortium ploughed silly money into Aberdeen for example and said money is no object buy who you want then im sure they could attract players of Sol Campbells "stature" the fact is there is 0 money in our game right now however i dont feel that the old firm are worse than a lot of premiership sides outside the top 4-6 and im sure the Edingburgh teams would be mid championship sides think thats pretty decent considering we are a smaller nation in football standards with very little dosh in our game we were royally screwed when Setanta went bust and the money they promised was not paid and the joint sky/ESPN deal is a disgrace the fact English football has so much money clouds the fact that a lot of Premiership sides are average at best and bottom 5-6 sides in that division would struggle to finish 3rd in spl what makes English football so exciting is a) Top 4 sides are 4 of the best teams in the world and b) bottom half sides treat home games against them as their cup final and always always raise their game against them making it exciting matches

I know there's no money in the Scottish game but Hearts did have someone come with money but he turned out to be a twat. I seriously doubt the bottom sides of the EPL would struggle to come 3rd. Rangers and Celtic are not as good as they were a few years ago and any team in the EPL would have a decent chance of coming in the top 2 of the SPL.
Yes Setanta screwed the SPL and yes the money from the Sky/ESPN deal was pitiful but there's also a credit crunch and any money is better than none and the old firm always feel they deserve the lions share.
the bad thing with scottish football is the amount of suporters, the viewing figures for scottish games are dismal, you either support celtic or rangers.
i think when ther was an idea of them 2 joining the premiership it should of been snapped up.
the english game is so much bigger e.g. the championship has the 4th biggest fan base in europe and that is a lower league

no real big big transfers, but Kranjcar to spurs is a great deal for spurs.
spurs to break into the top 4? seriously looks like it now with the players they got and the great start they have had.
they kinda have 2 teams as well, 1 for cups and 1 for the league.

they have a stronger squad then arsenal, so should be a good possibility to get into top 4.

I agree the fan base is awful. Aberdeen and Hearts have a decent amount of fans but personally I'm a Falkirk fan and we only see a large volume of fans when it's a bigger match. People in the community support the team but just don't come to matches.
