6 players set to join RB Leipzig

As January came, we start looking after players that are in the last 6 months of their contracts with their actual club and are available to be approached to sign a pre-contract. We have found some amazing players like Balotelli, Wanyama, Asamoah, Ciro Imobile and others...but, sadly for us, he don’t have eough money to pay this players.
But we managed to find also very good players that would accept a wage that we can pay and we convinced 6 players to sign a pre-contract with us: 2 defenders and 4 midfielders. In terms of strategy, this is a very good move for us, as with the curent budget we signed players on all the positions that we needed better backing up, and with the budget we will recieve next season, we will sign 1 world class player!

Joel Veltman

Joel is a Dutch central defender that was born in 1992 so he is 25 years old. He played his entire career, youth and professional football, for Ajax in Eredivise and in the last two seasons had some very good performances.
Joel is known to have very good marking and tackling skills, great anticipation and positioning and a pretty good technique for a central defender!

Lisandro Magallan

This season, our bigest problem was in the defensive area where we have poor backup in Bacchetti and Queiroz, so this is why I decided to sign already 2 central defenders for the next season!
Lisandro is a an Argentine central defender which was born in 1993, so he is 23 years old. He played his whole career until now in Argentina and Brazil, but for several clubs: Gimnasia, Boca Juniors, Vitoria, Goias and Godoy Cruz.
Now, he signed a contract with our club and I am confidant that he is a very good adition to our squad!

Pacato

When I heard that Pacato is available for a pre-contract offer, I couldn’t believe! He is one of the most promising young midfielders in Brazil and also in the whole World! Pacato is just 19 years old, but he already played for 3 clubs: Coritiba, Bahia and PSV and from the enxt season he will be our player!
He is the classical Brazillian playmaker, 175 cm, so he is not a tall player and he has great technique, amazing passing skills and great first touch!

Mohammed Agboh

Agboh is another 19 years old player that joins our club! He is a French central midfielder that played his whole career for Lyon and this season was amazing as played 19 matches, scored 4 times and provided 5 assists with an average rating of 7.32!
In my view he is a box-to-box midfielder with amazing stamina and I am very happy to announce this signing!

Martino Brunetti

Martino is an Italian attacking midfielder that was born in 1998 so he is just 18 years old...another very young player that will join us!
Martino played his entire career for Inter and I really can’t understand why Inter let him go for free as he is an amazing player, a great dribbler with very good passing skills and with good tehnique!

Ioannis Fetfatzidis

Fetfatzidis is a 26 years old winger from Greece that started his career at Olympiacos, but in the last 4 seasons he played for Genoa in Serie A, where he impressed! To be honest, I also tried to sign him last winter when I offered 7 m euro to Genoa but they rejected my offer. Now, we are signing him for free!

DFB Pokal 2016 – 2017 Final

Pre-match thoughts

This was a great season for us so far...we finished 3rd in Bundesliga, behind the two big German clubs, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. It’s the highest standing in club’s history and also is my greatest achievement as a manager.
Beside having such a good season in Bundesliga, we’ve also had some very good performances in the German Cup wich is called DFB – Pokal, managing to get in the big final, defeating on our way clubs like Aurich, Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Stuttgart and Inglostadt and now we will have to face Schalke in the final... managing to qualify in the final is a huge performance for us and of course that Schalke are the big favourites...but who knows?

The big final!

First Half
1’ Schalke kicked off
2’
RB Leipzig’ defender Mazuch recieves a yellow card
7’ Maxi Moralez chance missed, the ball held by Horn
10’ Corner for RB Leipzig, no real threat for Schalke
13’
Draxel scores for Schalke with a beautiful long shot! No chance for Areola!
16’ Another corner for RB Leipzig, this time the ball was sent over the bar by Maupay’s header
25’ Huge chance for Schalke, as Ljajic dribbled Mazuch and from 10 meters he takes a well placed shot, but great reflex from Areola as he saves the ball!
38’ Rb Leipzig’s left back Silva recieves a yellow card
45’ End of the first half

Second Half
46’ Kick –off for RB Leipzig
51’ Big chance for RB Leipzig as Borek Dockal hits the post from a 20 meters free – kick. No rection from Schalke’s keeper!
57’ Schalke cought RB Leipzig on counter-attack but Areola once again with a great save againt Goretzka
60’
Subtitution for Schalke: Gabriel Paulista comes off for Howedes

66’ Big chance for Maupay, but he sends the ball away from the goal
69’
Substitution for RB Leipzig as Maxi Moralez comes off for Guelor Kanga
74’ Chance for Schalke but Draxler misses
78’
Double substitution: For Schalke comes off Ljajic and it’s replaced by Avdijaj while for RB Leipzig De Silvestro replaced Aquino
90’ End of the match! Schalke won the cup!

Conclusions!

Well, there is always a next-season...Schalke is a strong team and they were better this match! They deserve the trophy and we will work ahrder next season and hope that we will win the trophy!

Season Review

So, here we are at the end of another season...my 4th since I was named the head coach of this club. We kept growing and improving, and now, after 4 very long and hard years, standing on 3rd place at the end o the season! I am still looking to improve and I won’t quit until I see RB Leipzig crowned as Champions of Germany and also of Europe !

As you probably know, we already have signed pre-contracts with 6 players so I am not looking to be very active in the transfer window...we still might sign a player or two, as we need a new keeper cause Brignoli wants to leave the club...and I am also looking to sign a very good central defender.

I am very pleased to announce that we are one of the most improved clubs in Europe as we moved up 109 places to 76th position in the European club rankings.

Fans’ Player Of The Season

Bret Dunk, our American central midfielder was voted by the fans as our Player of the Season. He put on some very good performances for us this season, playing 28 matches, scoring 4 times, providing 5 assists and obtaining an average rating of 7.43!

2017 -2018 Kits unveiled!

Our board have found a new kit-making sponsor that will give us more money so we signed a one year deal with Do You Football worth of 4m euro / season. I am actually very pleased with the design of the new kits and I will recomend the board to extend the deal.

Budget and pre-season friendlies!

As usual, at the begining of each season we have a meeting where we decide our objective for the comning season and our budget. So, we decided that our objective for this season will be to Qualify for Europa League and for that I was given a 14m euro transfer budget and a 56m euro / year wage budget and now we are spending 36 m euro / year.

As for our pre-season schedule we decided that we will play 8 friendly matches in this period, facing weak teams but also some strong ones like Newcastle or PSV. I decided to play so many matches, as we have 6 players that will join us as they signed a pre-contract with us, and they need time to adapt!

I love the new kits, the Red Bull kits always look amazing! Unlucky on the final vs Schalke. You can't be to disappointed with that season, you did fantastically well! Good luck in pre-season, that's a heavy schedule!
