Can Puyol lead Barca to La Liga title? (26 votes)

Ballon D'Or soon to come!

The FIFA Ballon D'Or is only a few weeks away and there might already be a surprise!
As it seems Lionel Messi did not make the Top6-Shortlist, that would be a hugh earthquake in the football World.

Lionel Messi who won the last 4(!) conssecutive FIFA Ballon D'ors might not even make it to the Top 3 this year, as there might be a Top3 only with Real Madrid players.
Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo seem to fight for the first two places as both of them scored the same amount of goals and both of them lead Real Madrid to an, up to now, unbeaten La Liga campaign!
The third place will be made up by Iker Casillas (the 3rd Madrid player on the Shortlist), Frank Ribery, Arjen Robben and Eden Hazard.

Carles Puyol said about the shortlist, that these Players surely deserve the praise they got now, but Lionel is at least on the same level as these players and it seems that he has to achieve more than the others to get the same praise, after his hugh succes in the last years.
Maybe the FIFA needs to let someone else win, to keep thinks interessting!

FIFA fines Puyol!

Puyol has to pay 200.000€ to the FIFA, as he attacked the Ballon D'Or Award shortlist jury.
He was furious about the fine, as he just spoke out, what almost everyone thinks!

End of the Year Review!

Intense first 6 month under my reign as the Barcelona Manager!
The first 3 months had been really tough, as we didn't played, like we wanted to and lost 4 La Liga matches and Real Madrid had been 10 points clear of us leading the league.
We dropped down to the 8th place and couldn't believed what was going on.
The next three months otherwise, where absolutely outstanding and we're now on a long unbeaten run and advanced to the UEFA Champions League Knockout rounds as the Group winner.

It was nice to see, that some of our La Masia talents learned a lot in the last months and grown into some good roles in the team.
1.Martin Montoya got the starting place from Dani Alves and delieverd some awesome performances.
He puts in a lot of effort to show that he is worth of playing with this team and this impresses his teammates and the coaching Staff.
2.Sergi Roberto showed that he can be a potential world class player and he can grow into Xavis footsteps. He scored goals, he created goals and he won more tackles than the other players in his position.
3.Jean-Marie Dongou Tsafack shows in our B-Team that he will be a member of the first team squad next season or in two years. He leads the Liga Adelante goalscorer table.

December Update

FIFA Ballon D'Or

One of the most clear wins in the last 10 years.
The third place goes to Lionel Messi, the argentinian striker played 25 games this season so far and scored 24 goals and assisted on 6 goals. He had a rough start to the season, but in the last two months he was on a scoring streak and secured the third place.
The second place goes to Cristiano Ronaldo the portugese striker played also 25 games like Messi, he scored 23 goals and assisted on 4 goals. He got 2 more points than Messi in this voting, which equals 1 vote!
The first place goes to Gareth Bale, the welsh winger was in an outstanding form before receiving an injury which sidelinded him over a month. Until the Injury he played 12 games and scored 13 goals and got 5 assists. He surely made an instant impact at his new Club!

European Golden Boy

And the European talent of the Year is Neymar jr.!
He got an first team place right at the beginning and is really setteling in Europe after joining Barcelona from the Brasilien based club FC Santos.

Puyol praises Griezmann!

Barcelona manager praises the french youth international and his recent performances; Griezmann is curently unsettled at San Sebastian

In the case that Pedro could leave Barcelona, Carles Puyol might bring Griezmann to the Camp Nou.
He should be available for approximatly 30mio. €.
hopefully you can get griezmann :)

Two Barcelona players leave on last day of the Transfer market

Ibrahim Affelay was loaned to greece side Olympiakos. Olympiakos will pay 3/4 of his wage and can make this deal permanent with a 5 mio € offer, which they have to make until the end of the season.

Isaac Cuenca left FC Barcelona for a fee of 3.5 mio €. Cuenca only made two apperances this season, one in the spanish cup and one in the Champions League, where he scored two goals in that match. Cuenca surely had no future at the Camp Nou and it seems, that this was the best deal for both sides.

Carles Puyol answered the Question if he was to bring any players in as a substitute for the both of them with the words, a replacement? Look in our B-Team, there are suitable players!

January & February Update

Two months with loads of matches and a lot of chances to chase Real Madrid!
After we sold Cuenca and loaned out Affelay our squad shrank down to 23 players and sometimes we will add some B-Team players!

Amazing start in the Year from the team! We got them and now we lead in La Liga and will try to defend the first place 'til the end of the season!
Sergi Roberto is about to gain a first eleven place as he showed his skills in recent matches and it's a good think, that we can rely on our talents!

March Update

We're on Fire!
There is nothing more i can say to our run of good results and performances.
Our attacking force is overwhelming and too much for our opponents, no matter what they try it seems to be the wrong thing or my team always has an answer to that!

We did what was needed and we seem to build a hugh space between us and Real Madrid. We are 7 points clear of them and we seem to break the 100 league goals this season, maybe we're able to try to break the goalscoring record!

Valdes and Xavi to leave Barcelona?

Rumors say that Puyol was not able to convince Victor Valdes to stay at the Camp Nou and now he has to face with an possible Xavi departure!

Our source said that Xavi will announce that he leaves Barcelona when they played there last game of the season!
He want to step aside, that other players like Sergi Roberto and Fabregas can fight for his spot in the first eleven.
A think which could underline our source is the announcment, FC Barcelona made today: Rafinha will return from his loan at Celta Vigo where he made his breaktrough season in Liga BBVA!
Hopefully they don't leave!
@fzemdegs will be doing the best for the team and try to keep them...

His decision was made...

Welcome to this press conference our Manager Carles Puyol and a player of our first team will answer some Questions after they made an important announcement!

Puyol: Welcome to this Press Conference here at the press room in the Camp Nou!
Sadly I have an announcement to make which was made a couple of weeks ago.
Therefore I invite our Goalkeeper to the Room, please join us Victor!
Valdes: Hello everyone, I will make it short and easy.
I will leave Barcelona at the end of this season! I'm very sad to leave this club, my club. It was a decision i made a few weeks ago, because i have to decide what's best for my family. My kids and my wife are annoyed that they can't have a quite day as they're always in the spotlight here in Barcelona.

The club thanks Victor for everything he has done and everything he achieved here at this club. He will be a legend at this club and was a major key to success in this clubs most succesful era, no one will forget that and he will always be welcomed at this club!
I really appriciate the words from our Capi. He made it really hard for me and almost convinced me to stay here, he gave everything in his power and almost even convinced my family that leaving would be the worst thing to do. Lets head for the Questions.
Michael McCain from the Sun, Senor Puyol do you already have an substitute goalkeeper in Mind and Senor Valdes where will you head to? Do you already have an contract signed somewhere?
No, I have no one in mind as my first option always was Victor. From now on i'm going to scout an replacement for him. Of course no goalkeeper in this world can replace Victors importance for us, not even a Neuer, Casillas or Curtouis.
No, i don't know where i'm going to. There are a few offer from top clubs from all over europe. I will talk to other teams after our last game, i'll concentrate to then, all my focus, to our league title and Champions League shot.
Peter Whittingham from Eurosport, now you announced that Valdes will leave, rumors say that maybe Xavi also will step down in order to give young talents like Sergi Roberto or Rafinha more playing time. Is this rumor correct and if so, will your talents be his replacement or will it be an star from outside? We heard about rumors from Paul Pogba or Arturo Vidal!
That is not correct. Xavi hadn't had a talk to me about his future and i'll wait until the season is over to start a talk with him about that! Of course our talents need that game time and they surely will get that, Xavi and Andres are getting older and can't play every game on a level, like from 08-12 under Pep.
Victor is there a possibility for you to end your career here? Will you come back sometime?
Of course i'm coming back, but not as a player, but surely as a coach or an other part of the staff, if they allow me to!
You can bet on that!
Thanks for attending at this Press conference we now need to go to the training and make sure we end this season in a succesful way!

Valdes has many options

Today Victor Valdes announced his decision to leave Barcelona at the end of this season and i didn't took long for other teams to announce there interest in the spanish international.

His Agent told us that there are already a few contract offers went into his office. Clubs like Manchester City, Paris St. Germain and AS Monaco seem to have major interest in Valdes.
Other teams who might hand in an offer would be FC Liverpool, AC Milan and Inter.
Rumordly there might be talks with the Agent and staff members from Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal London and an unknown Russian team.

Our sources say that the both french sides (Paris, Monaco) seem to have an slightliy advantage for Valdes to sign a contract!

Liga BBVA Champion

What a campaign that was and what a hugh succes for our team!
We are the Champions!

Matchdays before the Liga BBVA finishes Barcelona claimed the trophy in a very dominant way!

Here are some words from Barcelona players.
Lionel Messi: I'm delighted with the League win, we defended the title and did it, even though we already were 10 points behind Real Madrid after the first two or three months. That's incredible.
Victor Valdes:It's a joy to leave Barcelona like that, i couldn't have forgiven myself if i've left without a title. Now we won La Liga and i'm surely aiming for the Champions League.
Xavi: What a comeback, there's nothing more to say!
Sergio Busquets: I can't think of anything better than to win championships with people i know since i was a young kid. That's the special think here at Barcelona and it's sad that some of us now leave.

Now we need to concentrate on the Champions League and try to win it. The first semi-final leg was won by 3-0 against a very strong Borussia Dortmund and now we need to make sure we don't get complacent and move on into the Final (against Chelsea or Bayern Munich).
Sadly we lost the Copa del Rey to Real Madrid, but we surely didn't deserved to win that competition, as Real was a very strong opponent and was that effectiv.
Congratulations to them!

Fabregas might leave

As a source said, a family member said that they leave Barcelona and might head to the UK as the family misses the old life.

Arsenal London has a guaranteed buy back price, which might be in the area of 55-65 mio. €.
Also Chelsea London seem to be interessted in his services and will go for an offer of around 50 mio. € or maybe a player exchange as Eden Hazard is currently unsettled at the club!

That's a picture every Arsenal-fan wants to see. Cesc was a real hero at the club and now catches the interesst from Arsene Wenger. He needs to make the supporters happy as they are aiming for him to leave and bringing back a club legend might turn his furtune around.

Barcelona advance to Final

Barcelona 1(4)- 2(2) Dortmund

After the 3-0 lead from Barcelona a defeat against Dortmund was good enough to go to the Finals

Two players from Barcelona went out injured (Iniesta; Alba). That was really unfortunate for the upcoming Finale against Chelsea London!
