End of the Year Review
First half of the Season already is over and we have some mixed feeling about the time.
We're happy about the double we already have won over the season (FIFA Club World Cup, Spanish Super Cup), but otherwise we're really upseat by the way we lost to Tottenham Hotspurs in the European Super Cup 1-4.
It's good to see, how the young players play in our first team squad. Sergi Roberto was last seasons player with the most appearences, even more than Lionel Messi, Xavi or Andres Iniesta. Jean-Marie Dongou Tsafack took Lionels place, as he suffered a month long injury and he did well, he scored 5 goals and assisted 5 others in only 12 matches from then on, also he scored the important 1:0 lead severel times.
Other players which also played in the first team squad or even got promoted are Georgios Spanoudakis a only 16 year old central midfielder who might be the next Xavi.
Alex Grimaldo an u21 international for Spain had severel appearances as a left wing back and seems to be the a future star on his position.
Denis Suarez now got promoted to the Senior Squad as he had some inspiring performances in the B-Team.
FIFA Ballon D'Or
Last years winner Gareth Bale, seemed to be a player who could win this trophy or be in the Top3 for years to come!
It doesn't always come as everyone thinks, Gareth Bale wasn't even among the Shortlisted players and was way behind the Top3!
The third place goes to Luis Suarez, he had the chance to win this trophy, but his last 6 months at Barcelona weren't anywhere near his possible skills. Because of that it was quite a surprise to see him in the Top3.
The second place goes to Cristiano Ronaldo, the portugese Striker showed what he is able to do. He was the Real Madrid top goalscorer last season.
The FIFA Ballon D'Or winner is Lionel Messi, his goals and assists led Barcelona to win the Liga BBVA and the UEFA Champions League, besides that he was the golden Boot winner, as the last seasons top goalscorer in Europe and he claimed the golden Boot for the Best Player of last years FIFA World Cup. The only thing he missed to claim was the FIFA World Cup!
Dani Alves leaves Barcelona!
Barcelona announced that one of the fans favorite players, Dani Alves will leave the club at the end of his contract, at the end of the season.
Dani Alves will join Arsenal London, as he wants to play in the Barclays' Premier League and aims to be key player for this team and will aim for the league title.
