Trouble in Paradise?

After the last days at the transfer market and all the hugh transfers going on, Carles Puyol seemed to be angered about his President. He felt that Bartomeu didn't seemed to respect his transfer priorities!



Bartomeus first transfer target was Luis Suarez from FC Liverpool and Barcelona went for him.
Luis Suarez was really attracted by Bartomeus highly outspoken praise.
All this led to the over 80 mio. € transfer from Luis Suarez and the departure from Barcelonas own talents, from La Masia, Pedro and Cristian Tello who played at the first team squad.
And after the end of the loan spells from Gerard Deulofeu and Rafinha could have replaced them, after Puyol didn't want to buy Luis Suarez at all.

Kroos already was at the Airport!

Toni Kroos catched the attraction of Carles Puyol, after his amazing performances for Bayern Munich and Germany over the last 12 months.



Bayern Munich and Carles Puyol already had an agreement over the transfer details. Kroos should have cost Barcelona 45 mio €.
Toni Kroos already was on his way to Barcelona, to get through the medical check.
But all of the sudden Bartomeu canceld the transfer as he made an agreement with Liverpool.

Carles Puyol is really disappointed after he heard that. Puyol said that "Bartomeu didn't seem to have the interest in build a stronger squad, he only want to get the higher reputated player in each transfer period. We have Neymar, Messi and Sanchez and they showed us in the last season that they deserved their spot in the first eleven. Kroos otherwise, could've given us a different opportunity in the central midfield and i had a good plan in mind, which now all can be flushed down the toilet!

Pre-Season & August Update

The unrest in the club displayed in the team results, I surely wasn't happy with how things have been dealt with.


Two Cups have been played and the European Super Cup was lost in a way, which really should concern us. It was appealing.
Luckily we won the Spanish Supercopa against our biggest rival with all our offensiv class.
The biggest dissapointment was something which took place behind the curtain. I don't feel like i'm backed up by the President and the Director of Football.

A fantastic start to the year. However...One does beg the question, how on earth did you lose to Tottenham by tat many?

Bartomeu and Puyol not on the same page?

Puyols' last statement about his anger according to the Kroos' transfer seem to be a kick-off to a starting tense between him and Bartomeu



Bartomeu seem to be offended by Puyols' words a couple of days ago.
A few weeks ago Suarez was bought by Barcelona on behalf of Bartomeu, while Puyol really wanted to make Toni Kroos a part of his team. Puyol also had loads of talks with Puyol and was flattered by his interest and he was already on his way to Barcelona to negotiate a contract with them, as Bartomeu cancelled the transfer!

Suarez causes trouble!

Luis Suarez is only a few weeks a part of the Barcelona team and already the Barcelona fans are questioning the transfer!



As we heard, Luis Suarez had a talk with Bartomeu about his role in the team and about his coach Carles Puyol.
Suarez demands a place in the first eleven, a place which Bartomeu promised him at the contract negotiations and a place which Carles Puyol will not give him, as he feels that the team would benefit more when Alexis Sanchez is on the pitch.
Because of this situation a source of us reported that Luis Suarez is asking Bartomeu to sack Puyol, as he thinks that Puyol is a selfish manager whom never would admit that Bartomeu had a better man on his mind (Suarez), than Puyol (Kroos).

September Update

A good month for us, we're still unbeaten in La Liga and our squad is playing the stylish, attacking football every cules wants to see!
Besides that it is good to see, that our players, who returned from their recent loan spells, didn't needed much time to be a hugh part of our match squad, as a starting player or coming from the bench.


Alexis Sanchez had a good start in the season and Luis Suarez does not stand a chance against him training wise nor is his gaming performance anywhere near his league.
That caused a hugh unrest among Suarez and the Barcelona authorities!

Suarez angered after el clasico!

Luis Suarez wasn't that happy about his bench role in the previous el clasico, he sat on the bench the whole 90 minutes!
He stated again, that he has negotiated in his contract, that he has to be a starting player!



Luis Suarez recent performances hadn't been of the highest standart and Alexis Sanchez clearly has the upper hand against him.
Barcelona Manager Carles Puyol made clear, that he only selects player, who deserve to be picked and that Alexis Sanchez and Gerard Deulofeu are his first two options at the moment, as there training performances were more ambitous, in comparison to Suarez.
Also Puyol claimed after the draw against Real Madrid, that he really could have needed another option in the central midfield and a player like Toni Kroos is the missing piece in his plans.

Messi out for a month; Can Suarez take this chance?

Lionel Messi picked up an injury in the last international game with Argentinia. He has a sprained ankle and a knock on his knee, after he'd been fouled several times.



As Lionel Messi will be back at the start of December, Luis Suarez might get his chance in the starting eleven. A place he is demanding for at least 2 months. Also other sources say that Jean-Marie Dongou is Puyols' first chance to replace Lionel Messi in the starting eleven.
Dongou lately was everpresent in the first teams training.

A decisive meeting with the Board!

Because of the last unrest among Luis Suarez, the Board wants to discuss my last actions as i only allowed Luis Suarez a role as a substitute player, coming from the bench.
Luis Suarez was really unhappy with Carles Puyol, as Bartomeu secured Suarez a first eleven security clause in his contract!

Puyol: Zubi, Barto you wanted to have a talk with me?
Zubizarreta: Yes, we have a hugh issue that we need to solve and talk about.
Bartomeu: We need to tell you, that Luis Suarez came her to asked us that we need to fine you, as you're not playing him in the first eleven squad, as we had secured him a clause in his contract, which would make him a permanent first eleven member!
Well first of all, why did you even secure him an clause like that? You knew, that he wouldn't fit in my plans and that i wanted other personal for the squad. We have a offense, which didn't need a change! We have Lio, Ney and Alexis and there performances really speak for them.
Second think, why wasn't i asked, in terms of a clause like that?
Well we really wanted to have the upperhand against Real Madrid, whom really was interessted in Suarez as well. We thought and still think, that we need more than those three players in our offense...
...hold on. More players? Why? We have those three and Gerard and Rafinha came back from theire loan spells, also Jean-Marie performed that well in the B-Team, that he really deserved a shot in the first team.
We need to give them more time, as they are still very young and don't have a routine like Suarez!
You can't be serious! How could they claim more routine, when you want me not to play them? Your point don't makes sense at all. And i don't want them to play in the B-Team, as i feel that they need to gain first League experience and i want them to get it here and not in another team!
But you can't tell me that Suarez isn't an upgrade to Sanchez!
Have you seen him play the last 18 months? Surely he isn't our best goalgetter, but he is so important to our defensive movement, when we lose the ball! Alexis goes that runs back in our own half, so that Ney and Lio can take a breather and can concentrate all there powers to our attacking movements! Please come and see our training in the next weeks permanent and you'll see that i'm right!
We see the training often enough to make an opinion about that...
...and have you seen our European Super Cup match? There i had the attacking trio Ney, Lio and Luis and that was the worst performance since i've been in charge, because our defending wasn't as good as usual. And we would really start to struggle when we start with that trio regularly, and that i'll promise to you!
You know Luis wants us to fine or even fire you, as you haven't the best interesst in the club, he said you only want to look like you're the best trainer in the world and do that on the clubs shoulders!
Well don't you think that this statemant stands for his charakter? He isn't playing and he wants you to sack me? Why isn't he trying harder in training? He's only complaning the whole day at your office or even in the media!
Well lets talk about that now, i'll call him in!
Suarez joins the room
Luis are you serious? You want them to sack me?
Suarez: Oh yeah! You don't let me play, i'm way more skilled than Alexis and deserve that starting place!
Yes, you have more skills than Alexis, but he has something very special you really lack. He does everything for the team, he doesn't want to shine, he runs more than every other player in our squad, he has a this special something you really don't have. You want to know what that something special is?
Tell me! I really want to know what you bring up now.
He loves this club, he loves the cules, he loves everything about beeing a member of this team. You otherwise really are selfish and want to be a hugh star. You haven't spend time with the fans after training, you leave right after we're finished. You don't do anything charitywise. That says a lot about your character! And the cules don't want a player like this playing for our club.
That's relly harsh Carles!

...and i'm giving everything for this club for over 20 years now.
Ok, Carles you can do what you think is right for this club to succed. And if the situation won't settle we need another meeting.
I can't believe what you are doing here, i signed a contract here because of the secured first eleven place and rejected a Madrid offer, which i really was interested in, you don't threat me fairly and i demand something to change in the next few weeks!

October - December Update

There was a lot going on in the last three months. With Georgios Spanoudakis, Alex Grimaldo, Jean-Marie Dongou and Frank Bagnack a couple of la masia talents got some playing time in the first team squad.
Spanoudakis also is now the youngest Barcelona player in history! The central midfielder is from the Juvenil A team and might be a B-Team member in the next season.


Luis Suarez now had a couple of chances in the first team squad and hadn't really showed that he really wants to stuck in the team.
Therefore Jean-Marie Dongou Tsafak took his chance and really impressed Carles Puyol and now seems to be the number 2 striker, right behind Lionel Messi!

Some great results! Maybe an alternative tactic with messi on the right, neymar left and Dongou/Suarez striker?

Suarez calls for press-conference!

Luis Suarez called for a press conference right after the christmas days!
The world wide press attends there to see what he has to say. Attending at the press conference are Suarez himself, Carles Puyol and Josep Maria Bartomeu!

Suarez: Hello everyone, i'm pleased that all of you received the inviting and now attend at this press conference.
I've got something on my mind, what i really want to say and do, for 3 months now.
Bartomeu: We like all of you, to save your questions a couple of minutes, as Luis will explain some thinks and then Carles or I will responed and the questions will end this press conference.
I announce my transfer to Chelsea London for the next transfer period. I'm not happy here in Barcelona and think that the situation won't get any better for me and after a long talk with Josep and Zubi we came to the point that it makes no sense to continue our work together.
Chelsea will pay 50 mio € for Suarez services and in case of league and champions league succes we will receive even more.
Luis signed a 4 year-long contract in London.
I'm happy to go back to England and the Premiere League as i feel that i need to be there and this is my home. I only was on vacation, at least i like to see it that way.
Puyol: Luis and I got our problems, but we threated us with respect and i wish for him, to be happy again and reclaim the love for the game that he lost here.

Well The board and i had different opinions about our transfer goals last summer. I made them perfectly clear, that Luis is a good player, but that we have other players who fit better in this team and also know each other and know how they play. That was the main reason why i had no use for Luis, but i won't deny his playing skills.
Luis, how did you feel, when you missed your chance at the starting eleven squad after Messis injury and saw an unknown striker in front of you?
Honestly? It crushed my confidence in my skills and i was really depressed with that! There's nothing more i can say about that!
What is your opinion about Jean-Marie Dongou? Did he deserve that spot?
Well i think i could have been the better choice, if Carles would've had trust in my skills. Sadly it wasn't that way.
Why did you choose Chelsea as your next stage in your career?
The talks i had with Jose Mourinho made me clear, that i need a manager who trusts in my abilities and Jose made that clear to me at our first phone call!
Carles, Josep, will you try to make some moves in the transfer market and look for a replacement for Luis or will you pick someone who already is in you B-Team or in the Juvenil A? And do you have anyone on your mind?
We won't talk about other transfers now!
But there's a chance for more transfers to come?
As Josep already said, we won't discuss anythink now. The only think i can say, is that a couple of our young talents will get a chance to prove that we don't need to make any transfers!
Whom will get a chance Carles?
Alen Halilovic, Adama Traore, Munir el Haddadi or Denis Suarez. I guess that these four deserve a chance but maybe someone from the Juvenil A squad will also get a chance, lets wait and see, what we do!

Josep, did this transfer make you realise that you maybe let Carles decide which players he need?
I always aim for the best for the team. The plans i had and the plans Carles had were different and from now on i will always have a talk with Carles in case of future transfers!
