Some good, experienced players you've signed. This looks like a fairly decent team that can compete in Serie B!
[FM14] I Gondolieri - A New Club in Italy
The follow up to mine and ASR's story, a new club takes centre stage in Italy
A nice, experienced line-up you've got going there!
What good transfers, name important? David B will be a very good player, and I hope to play well Iaquinta!
Chief Scout’s Log, #1
To be honest, I didn’t want to come back in football yet…it was great to just stay together with Adriana Fossa, my wife, and with Christian and Daniel, my two sons, things that I couldn’t do as a footballer. So, I didn’t want to do it, but I did it..you wonder why? Well, it’s simple..One day, one of the best players I ever played with and one of my best friends gave me a phone call and explained me all about this new team and also offered me a place in his staff, as his Chief Scout! So, I accepted… I can’t say no to a friend!
I took the first flight to Venezia, signed the contract and from the first day we started working hard! I mean, we didn’t had a single player at the club…and we need around 20. As a Chief Scout, I had to find good players that can get us promoted, but we are not a giant, so I have to find good players with a small wage, which it’s not an easy thing!
Marco Pisano Report
Marco Pisano is a 32 years old Italian central defender that played in his career for numerous clubs where he gaine a lot of experience! He started his youth Career at Lazio, but he never managed to debute there and in 2000 he was bought by Brescia, where he also played his first professional match! He also played for Sampdoria, Palermo, Torino, Parma and Vicenza so he also has experience in the important matches as he played in Serie A!
About his technique abilities I also wanna say that he is a gery good tackler and he also has good marking skills. He is also a very determined player with a very good positioning on the field.
I am giving him a rating of 4 stars, he has good abilities, but the important thing is that he has huge experience, so it will benefite our young players. I strogngly recommend to sign this player!
Pantelis Kafes Report
And if Marco Pisano has big experience, just read through this to find out who is Kafes, if you don’t know already!
At 36 years old it may seem a little old, but for Serie B will be a top player for sure! Pantelis was born in Veria, Greece and he played as a defensive midfielder or central midfielder for some big clubs like PAOK, Olympiacos and AEK Athens and now he is a free-agent. The most important thing about his career is that he played 41 matches for the Greek national squad and was also part of the squad and played at Euro 2004, when the Greece national squad won the tournament!
Kafes is a player with great technique, passing and dribbling abilities, he has good leadership and he’s a very creative player!
I’m rating him 4.5 stars as he would be a top player in Serie B and for his huge experience! I think that we should do everything we can in order to sign him!
Vincenzo Iaquinta Report
Vicenzo is a 32 years old Italian striker which began his professional career at Reggiolo, then being transferred to Padova and Castel Di Sangro until the year 2000 when he was signed by Udinese where he had amazing performance which brought him a place in the Italian National team and he also attracted the attention of Juventus, which decided to sign him in 2007!
Vicenzo was always known for his great heading abilities, being a big threat at corners and free kicks, he also has great finishing and he is good at long shots! He is a very determined player, a tru leader on the pitch and a brave striker!
I’m rating him 5 stars and I think that he would be a decent player for Serie A, so in Serie B should be a superstar!Whatever the price, we should sign him!
1
Good scout report on Vicenzo Iaquinta. Should definitely stop at nothing to sign him
3 very good, experienced players that will do you wonders in Serie B, I'm sure. Good luck this season!
More signings announced
Today, AS Venezia announced 6 new signings. Manager Alessandro Nesta had this to say on the signings
"All are of high quality, and all bring lots of experience to the team. I am particulalry pleased with the captures of Anelka, who is a world class striker, even at 34, and Cudicini, who is a great goalkeeper. All of these players are of immense quality, as I said before, and hopefully, they can help the club massively this season and provide memorable moments for the club."
Australian Legend Lucas Neill was the first player to sign for the club, and Giourkas Seitaridis arrived last, with the activity spanning over a few days, but the club wanted to announce them all at once.
"I think we are done now [in the market], we have a great squad. Hopefully, they will blend with the team that we have already and play well."
All signings were on free transfers.
Slovenian Left Back Alen Jogan also joined the club on loan from Parma, but his loan was then quickly terminated, the club also announced.
"We secured other targets that I thought we wouldn't, and that is why I had to terminate his loan."
But it is expected that he didn't comply with the squad rules for the league and was considered to be a weaker player in the squad.
Brazilian Attacking Midfielder Marcos also has been offered a two week trial with the club.
Squad Numbers Released
AS Venezia have announced the squad numbers for this season.
Cudicini takes the number one shirt, which happens to be his favourite. Anelka gets his favoured number thirty-nine shirt. Iaquinta will wear the number nine.
Here are the squad numbers in full:
Goalkeepers
Defenders
Midfielders
Strikers
Great signings, especially Anelka is a very good player for a Serie B club! And even better considering they are all free transfers!
This team has been put together really well, Anelka, Baros and laquinta will be brilliant up top!
2014-07-17 19:36#184865 AaronHJFT96 : This team has been put together really well, Anelka, Baros and laquinta will be brilliant up top!
Actually using this tactic that is working well with all three up there at once!
