In what was probably the best match of the season in the Jupiler Pro League where Anderlecht came out on top in a goal extravaganza but only just!

With neither side concentrating on defence, the goals flowed freely at both ends and the crowd will have gone home happy at the entertainment provided. With Anderlecht fielding Ronaldo, Neymar, Benzema and Volland and Zulte fielding Cabella, Olinga and Lestienne you kind of just new that there was going to be goals, so it was surprising when it was a defensive midfielder to score the first goal of the game and give Zulte the lead. Nick Viergever shot from about 20 yards out to stun Courtois in goal and hit the top corner.

The lead last 48 seconds as Volland hit a long ball for Neymar to run onto and slot round the keeper for 1-1.

The score changed again 3 minutes later when a corner was not cleared properly by Anderlecht, and Rami was in the right place to hit a placed shot for 2-1 to Zulte.

It was all Zulte then and after Eriksen made a error it left Olinga one on one and he made no mistake at all to lift the ball over Courtois for 3-1 and it was looking like a shock was on the cards. That all changed though when Viergever fouled Benzema to give Anderlecht a penalty, which Ronaldo hammered home.

After half time Anderlecht started like a train and in the 53rd minute there probing paid off when Ronaldo scored a point-blank header and it was 3-3 in an extrodinary match.

Against the run of play though, Olinga added his second goal of the game with a real poachers effort so Giroud and Griezmann was bought on. Anderlecht were throwing the kitchen sink at Zulte now and in the 62nd minute Kevin Volland seized on Sebastien Bruzzese's mistake to score a well timed close range finish and it was 4-4 and now we have a grand stand finish.

It became end to end and looked like there would be just one more goal somewhere. Greizmann fed it through to Ronaldo who unleashed an amazing shot to hit the net and send the Anderlecht fans crazy by clinching an absolutely amazing 5-4 victory.

Two More Injured As Anderlecht Start To Feel The Pain

Anderlecht were ruing Wednesday's training session as the lost both Kevin Volland and Oliver Giroud.

Volland, who will be out for two to three months pulled up chasing a long pass in the training match, pulling his hamstring. Volland, who signed for free this season had played a bigger role in the last month, playing 16 times this season in all competitions where he scored 2 goals and has assisted six times this season too. It is a shame I am injured, especially with the transfer window coming up but I am satisfied that I will still be here when I am free of this injury said Volland.


Giroud adds to injury list at Anderlecht

Oliver Giroud is going to be out for 2 weeks with a twisted knee after jumping for a header in the same training session and this is a bigger loss for Anderlecht because even though he has just played 14 games, he has an impressive eight goals and 8 assists this season and Giroud will be a big miss.

CSKA Moscow To Lose Two Players In The January Window?

Moscow are going to lose players

As Anderlecht start the Transfer Window 10 points clear in the Belgian Pro League we take a look at who could move where in Europe as a lot of players are going to be on the move.

We will pick out the best free transfers available at the moment and also the players who will cost money that have the most interest at the moment.

Lets look at some of the high profile free transfers still available and I think we should start with two of the best goalkeepers that are available. Petr Cech has been attracting interest of late by four sides. Red Bull Salzberg and PAOK have confirmed they are interested in the 31 year old but it is reported that a couple of sides in Bulgaria are going to try and hijack the move. The two side's in Sofia (Slavia and CSKA) are planning on offering £300k+ a week and that could be enough to help him make his mind up.


Cech and Neuer are going to have clubs by the end of the window

The other Keeper in focus this window is Manuel Neuer. It is amazing he was not signed in the summer but now is wanted by Red Bull Salzberg, PAOK and Slavia Sofia. It is reported that he is PAOK have made him there number 1 target but Slavia Sofia are trying to land both Neuer and Cech. If they do then it will be one hell of a double swoop by the Bulgarian side, but one that IS possible.


Nani will have choices to make very soon

Next up is Nani, another player who was very unlucky to be signed by anyone but that will change this window as three sides from three different countries are interested. PAOK and Red Bull Salzberg will be linked with loads of players this window so for us we think Partizan Belgrade in Serbia are very, very interested in the former Manchester United midfielder. It is understood that Belgian side's Gent and Mechelen are also watching Nani just in-case an opportunity comes up.

The last one for now is Ivan Rakitic, who is wanted by EIGHT clubs, but only two clubs have registered there interest in Club Brugge and PAOK. Now Rakitic himself is keen on moving to Greece but there are 6 clubs who could come in for him and three of them are in Belgium in Mechelen, Lierse and Zulte Weregem but Cherno More and Slavia Sofia in Bulgaria are also interested but again we think that Partizan in Serbia have a brilliant chance of landing the midfielder but we will see what happens in this window for the free transfers.

There are players at clubs who could move for big money and CSKA Moscow are going to be the side to miss out and lose players as Igor Akinfeev, there goalkeeper and captain is being linked to Austrian side Red Bull Salzberg for a reported fee of £39,000,000 but they face competition from Bulgaria again in CSKA Sofia and Litex who are willing to also pay upwards of £40,000,000 if they are asked too.

Another Moscow player, Alan Dzagoev who is probably THE most wanted man in European Football at the moment. Rumours have it that CSKA Moscow want around £30,500,000 for him but that has not put off Serbian sides like Novi Pazar, OFK Beograd and Partizan Belgrade. Belgian club KV Kortrjk, Mjallby in Sweden and Icelantic sides FH and Stjarnan. This will be ever so interesting to see who will move where and where will Dzagoev go?

The last player for now is Wayne Rooney, who has been wonderful for P$G this season but he wants to leave and BATE could be lining up a HUGE £60,000,000 bid for the Englishman and even with all this money floating around, we do not think that anyone will try and compete with that. The only side who might look at Rooney is Polish side Korona Kielce but that is only a MIGHT.

Champions League 1st Knockout Round Draw

So after a hectic group stage of the Champions league, some new sides have made it into the 1st knockout round draw along with some familiar names but as we all know this will be the last year for quite some time that this will happen. So what new sides have made it into the draw?

Lets start with Scottish Champions Celtic. They won the competition in 1967 and were runner-up in 1970 but in recent years have been lucky to make the group stages but this season they topped there group with P$G and Basel in to safely get into the next round.

Debutants Ludogarets, who were also installed as favourites have made it through too. they topped Group F with 15 points, winning 5 and losing just one match in the process and with 3 games in hand in the Bulgarian 'A' League they look sure to be back in the competition next season but must fancy there chances of winning this season.

Finally Legia, from Poland have also made the knockout stages for the first time in their history too. They finished just one point behind CSKA Moscow, who were strong but will lose a lot of there layers in this window now so Legia could well be dangerous.

P$G, Chelsea, PSV, Barcelona and Dortmund have all made it for what could be the last time in years, unless one of these clubs could go and win the competition but with so many stronger sides in this competition now we find it very unlikely.



So P$G will play Galatasary and we think that P$G, if they can hold on to Rooney and Cabaye can take this but the Turkish side have the more rounded squad.

Chelsea face off against Zenit, who could also lose players with Hulk being strongly linked to Plodiv in Bulgaria but even so they will see off the threat of Chelsea. Shakhtar will have far too much for PSV as will Celtic over Schalke.

Anderlecht will play Ajax in what should be a one sided event but with this anderlecht side you just never know who will turn up. Dortmund play off against CSKA and even if Akinfeev and Dzagoev leave Moscow should progress to the quarter final.

The tie of the round is Legia against the favourites Ludogarets. Polish football is going to take off in the next couple of seasons but in Ludogarets with Aguero and company it already has so they would record a victory here. Barcelona play Benfica and again Benfica should have enough to beat the catalan giants.

It has been a very busy first week in the transfer window and there are four major moves we are now going to discuss so lets start with the shock move of Anthony Knockaert.


Anthony Knockaert moves to KR in Iceland for £11,000,000

The former Leicester player was the first big money mover of the window by signing for Icelandic side KR for a fee believed to be around £11,000,000 and it caused shock-waves up and down europe because Iceland have never had that sort of player in there league before but with a big money move he has signed a four year £39,000 a week deal and he is ecstatic to have moved to KR. It is a bit colder here, but I am very pleased to have joined a side so full of ambition. England had got a very lonely place to play in and when my good friend Will Hughes left but this is going to be a very big experience for me and I encourage other top youngsters to join me in Reykjavík

Who Are KR

KR was established on 16 February 1899, making it the oldest football club in Iceland. It was founded as Fótboltafélag Reykjavíkur (Reykjavík Football Club), before changing to Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur, also meaning Reykjavík Football Club, the change due to "knattspyrna" being considered a more elegant word ("Fótbolti" is literally translated as "football" while "knattspyrna", while translating as "football", is literally "ballkicking"). KR modelled their kit on the black-and-white stripes of Newcastle United, a strong club during KR's early years. KR was the only football club in Reykjavík for a decade, but as soon as other clubs were established there were plans for competitions. KR won the inaugural championship in 1912 after a play-off with Fram.

In KR’s centenary year in 1999 the team ended its long quest for another national title. The team had not won the league title for 31 years despite often being viewed as favourites but they looked favourites all season this time. They clinched the title with a 4–0 win over Víkingur in the penultimate round and then beat ÍA 3–1 in the cup final in front of a capacity crowd at the national stadium. The women's team was equally successful, winning the league and the cup, and KR celebrated its centenary year with an unprecedented double-double.

In total, the men's team has won the league title 25 times and the cup 12 times and during the last decade the women's team has won six league titles and twice won the cup. The men's team has four times won the double, in 1961, 1963, 1999 and in 2011.

KR's best European success was in 2009–10 UEFA Europa League when they defeated AE Larissa (2–0, 1–1) in the second qualifying round, but were eliminated in next round by FC Basel (2–2, 1–3). In 2011–12 UEFA Europa League, KR eliminated ÍF Fuglafjørður in the first qualifying round and achieved a big win against MŠK Žilina in the next round (3–0) in Reykjavík.

The next player in focus is Jordan Rhodes, who like Knockaert and Hughes is rated as one of the best in the Championship, but not no more. He moves over the border to Kilmarnock in Scotland in a deal which eclipses the Scottish record transfer of Tore Andre Flo in 2000 which was £12m.

Jordan Rhodes moves to Rugby Park for £23,000,000 and can not wait to play in Scotland. The fact that a club like Kilmarnock will make me the record signing in Scotland tells me how much they wanted me to play for them. I turned down Dundee United and Dungannon Swifts to play here at Rugby Park and now I am in the Scottish Premier League I can look at getting into the Scottish squad too.

Next up is a player in which not a lot of people would have heard of in Mario Fernandes. The uncapped Brazilian moves from CSKA Moscow to Austria Wien for £23,500,000. Fernandes made his debut for CSKA this season, against Spartak Moscow. Since then, he had become first-choice right back.

Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Juventus, Internazionale, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, F.C.Porto, AFC Ajax and A.S. Roma have all been linked with him and he has been dubbed "the new Lúcio". On the 14th January 2014, the CSKA president announced that a £23,500,000 deal had been agreed with Austria Wien and Fernandes was set to join them pending a medical examination.

Finally the biggest transfer so far involves Englishman Wayne Rooney. The former United and P$G striker was involved in a absolute frantic scramble by three clubs who matched the French clubs £60,000,000 price tag on his head.

Partizan Belgrade looked favourites to land the striker but Litex and Cherno More came in for him too and in a blink of an eye he had signed a four year £350,000 a week deal to move to Cherno More and he is excited to play for them. This is going to be a unique but exciting experience for me and my family. I would like to shoot my new side into the Champions League but I know that Ludogarets, Litex and Levski are still better than us at the moment but this is going to be a building job and I can not wait to be part of it.

So that is the big deals in the first week of the window here are the others. Anderlecht signed Thorgan Hazard on a free and sold Modric to Wiener Neustadt in Austria for £7,750,000.

The two main transfers in the last seven days involve P$G midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Dynamo Kyiv winger Andriy Yarmolenko. Firstly Kevin De Bruyne moves from P$G to Anderlecht for a huge fee believed to be around £43,000,000.

De Bruyne, who used to play for Chelsea and before that Genk in Belgium, which gives Anderlecht an important 'Home Grown' player rule. Anderlecht manager Allessandro Del Piero is very happy with his signning. This shows that Anderlecht means business! We had enquired for Wayne Rooney too but he declined to even discuss a contract with us but we are nevertheless happy with Kevin and I can not wait for him to play for MY squad.

The other player who has landed himself a big money move is Andriy Yarmolenko who did not want to stay at his club Dynamo Kyiv and was enticed by Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia for £25,500,000, so joins Wayne Rooney in moving to Bulgaria and he will be the driving force for Sofia for the rest of the season and will be earning £300,000 a week and will be on a four year deal to play for Sofia.
