Brazilian trio sign for Manchester United

Danilo, Alex Sandro and Dede have all signed for Manchester United as Louis van Gaal continues his re-building process.

All three players have joined for a combined fee of 35 million pounds which is considered a coup by the spokesperson for the club, saying that the fans are 'delighted' with the business the club has done as all three players have exceptional quality and talent which will undoubtedly improve the defensive areas of the squad.

van Gaal also commented on the signings, telling Sky Sports News exclusively that he is 'very happy' with his signings and for the price involved. He believes that each of the three players adds something new to the squad and have enough potential to become World Class if they get enough game time, which leads us to believe that the three Brazilians are not guaranteed starters, as van Gaal mentioned that his existing defenders are not pushovers and will fight for their place.

The first of the three signings is young full-back Danilo, who joins Manchester United for a fee of 11 million pounds, which again is considered a bargain for the type of player the club have purchased. Danilo will add pace and energy into the wide areas, making him an ideal rival for Rafael as they will both have to fight for their place as Louis van Gaal's number on right sided full-back.

Danilo made his name playing for FC Porto in the Portuguese Premier League, however he started out in his native country of Brazil, playing for America before transferring to Santos, where another Brazilians name was made, that being Neymar Jr, who joined FC Barcelona two years ago. Danilo impressed whilst playing for Santos which finally sealed a 11.25 million pound move for the full-back by FC Porto. Now Danilo will be training hard in order to make his debut when the Premier League finally kicks off.

Danilo made a name for himself whilst playing for Santos, which finally caught the interest of FC Porto, who decided to purchase him for 11.25 million pounds.

The next Brazilian is another full-back who plays on the opposite side to Danilo, that being Alex Sandro. The 23 year old is in a similar mould to Danilo, as he has that pace and energy needed to perform well playing as a full-back. Sandro joins Manchester United for a fee of 14 million pounds, which is again considered a huge steal due to the amount of potential and current ability he has right now.

Alex Sandro made the same journey as Danilo, transferring from the Brazilian League to the Portuguese Premier League. Again, he played for Santos which is where he made a name for himself and attracted interest from FC Porto, who decided to purchase him as well as Danilo in 2011. Since then Sandro has made 61 appearances for Porto and is touted to be one of the best left sided full-backs in a few years time. Sandro is expected to start Manchester United's opening game of the season due to Luke Shaw still being out injured.

Alex Sandro and Danilo have become great friends since their move to FC Porto, which played a part in the pair moving to England to play for Manchester United.

And finally Louis van Gaal has decided to spend 10 million pounds on strong centre-half Dede, who was listed on the transfer market as he wanted to leave Brazil and play in one of the biggest leagues in Europe. Dede will offer Manchester United great physical presence both on the ground and in the air, which will mean that he is the ideal replacement for Nemanja Vidic, who left the club last season when his contract expired.

Dede has surprisingly never left his native country to play football, playing in all three divisions in Brazil and notching up over 150 appearances for all the Brazilian teams he has played for. Dede wanted to leave as he felt he was just too good for the Brazilian Leagues and Louis van Gaal offered him a chance he could not refuse. It is to be see whether Dede will be able to adapt to the Barclays Premier League and for-fill his 10 million pound price tag come the end of the season.
Some great signings there, will definitely help strengthen the defence!

Inigo Martinez joins Manchester United on a 4 year deal

Manchester United have continued their summer spending, securing the signing of Spanish wonderkid Inigo Martinez for 19 million pounds.

The 23 year old is delighted to have joined such a big club and is hoping that he can learn new skills and abilities under the guidance of Louis van Gaal. The centre-half left Real Sociedad for 19 million pounds and is rumoured to be earning around 65 thousand pounds a week, which is 60 thousand more than what he was earning playing for his former club.

Martinez is van Gaal’s fifth defensive signing this summer, with Luke Shaw, Danilo, Alex Sandro and Dede also joining the red side of Manchester as the re-build continues before the start of the season. Van Gaal was greeted with the news that his new Manchester United side will be travelling to Stamford Bridge at the start of the season, and the Dutch manager hopes that Martinez will be ready to make his full competitive debut against Chelsea.

The Spanard has had experience playing against Manchester United in the past, as last season he played in both of Real Sociedad’s Champions League games against Manchester United, and despite scoring an own goal, he caught the eyes of many fans after an impressive defensive display against the attacking talent Manchester United had at that time under David Moyes. Martinez is known for his tackling, anticipation and positioning and has lots of potential to for-fill.

Martinez produced a good performance against Manchester United in the Champions League last season, despite scoring an own goal early on in the game.

Martinez will feel at home as he joins a squad filled with Spanish talent, with David de Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera all playing a key part in Manchester United’s first team, Martinez should have no problem settling in with his new team-mates as it is likely he will also be playing a key role in van Gaal’s defence as he splashed out just under 20 million for the young Spanish centre-half.

The defender has played over 150 games in his career, making him no stranger to big games, having played against giants Barcelona and Real Madrid many times in his career. Although he may not be very old, he is a capable and confident centre back with enough ability to win games for his team. He is rumoured to be playing next to Phil Jones at the back who again is not very old but is a calm and composed player, making United’s defence considerably stronger.

And as per usual, there are still many rumours out there at van Gaal is still looking to spend on two new players, and with deadline day fast approaching, we could well be in for one of the most exciting and thrilling transfer windows in many years, with players possibly departing and leaving the club before the window slams shut at the start of September, whatever happens, we know that van Gaal has some surprises up his sleeves.
Great signing! Also, nothing better than a bit (or 3 bits) of Brazilian flair!
Nice signing, should add some defensive steel!
@Feliks: Haha yeah, thanks man!

@Walt: Agreed, and he has bags of potential!
Martinez looks an awesome signing and seems to me on the cheap, cant wait to see if he will work out
A great bit of business there with you definitely focusing on strengthening the weak defence that United possess. Well done.
Another great signing to improve the previously faltering United defence, the season ahead is now looking very promising! :)
@Jason: He's a cracking player! Thanks for the comment.

@James: Agreed! Thanks very much for the comment James!

@Joshie: Indeed it is Joshie. Indeed it is. ;)
