Higuain Banned For SIX Months

Aston Villa have been rocked by the news that £42,000,000 signing Gonzalo Higuain has been banned on suspicion of using an unnamed Class A drug. The former Real Madrid striker was arrested by West Midlands police at his address in Birmingham but is completely denying all involvement with drugs.

The 29 year old Argentine international has played a important part this season in the Premier League, Capital One Cup and the Champions League but while he is investigated the F.A has put a worldwide ban on Higuain.

Higuain's agent Francisco Ponce issued the following statement, Gonzalo Higuian is a model professional and completely and unreservedly refutes the allegations of drug taking. He also understands that while the investigation to rightly clear his name goes on, that he can not play according to ridiculous F.A rules. Gonzalo requests that there is no press coverage saying that he has taken drugs as this will cause him to sue any media outlet as soon as his name is cleared.

It is understood that Aston Villa are fuming with the Football Association as they have never takent his step before and also believe in doing so means that they are actually believing that he is a drug cheat. The club are sticking by there player however, this is ridiculous said a clubs spokeswoman. We wholeheartedly believe Gonzalo Higuain when he says that he has not taken or dealt in any class A drugs at all in his life and once he is cleared we will look to sue the F.A for all the time he is not allowed to play for us.

It will be interesting to see what comes of all of this but either way there is going to be a lot of ups and downs before this is completely sorted!
Finally up to date with your story! Keep it up, fantastic read so far. Some exciting signings with Villa!
oehhh, bad bad bad Higuain ! ;) Hopefully this dont cause too much damage for your goals this season...

Deal Struck For McCarthy

McCarthy joining Villa in January

It is understood that either Fabian Delph OR Yohan Cabaye will be leaving Aston Villa after the club confirmed that Irishman James McCarthy will be joining the club for £16,000,000 from Everton.

The midfielder, who has been with the Toffees for five seasons after signing from Wigan for £13,000,000 will move in his attempt to win trophies. It is understood that he was going to be Paul Mcgrath's ONLY transfer target in January after the tricky start to the campaign for The Villans.

It is thought that the Everton fans are angry at the sale of one of the players who they regard as one of the best players in there squad but manager of Everton, Ronald Koeman defended the decision to cash in, James wanted to leave 2 seasons ago said Koeman but we convinced him to give us a couple of seasons to show we could get into Europe on a regular basis and if we couldn't and a team in the Champions League came calling, we would sell for £16m. I hope James continues to put in amazing performances before he leaves and we will wish him all the best.

It is understood that Villa are considering selling Captain Delph or the older midfielder Cabaye. We now look into the pros and cons of each player.

Fabian Delph

Pros
Delph is the club captain and a very well liked guy in the dressing room, he is younger, talented and on the verge of being an England regular. He has also had far less injury concerns and is always solid when called upon.

Cons
Delph would command a higher transfer fee which could make him a prime target to be cashed in on and he has also only played 3 times this season with Rakitic, Hughes and Cleverley apparently all ahead of him.

Yohan Cabaye

Pros
Cabaye has the big time experience in Europe and with the biggest teams in Europe too. He will also be needed in and around the squad while Villa get up speed in Europe. He is also still renown for his dead ball heroics and can still whip in a good cross.

Cons
Cabaye is in his 30's now and at the moment only James Milner is over 30 and getting football regulary at Villa Park. Paul McGrath likes a fast flowing game and with Cabaye also complaining about training it is thought that he would be the more likely guy to miss out in January and be sold. It is also thought that being on over £100,000 a week and not playing week in, week out that he will also be sacrificed.

Who will leave to facilitate the arrival of James McCarthy, stay tuned to find out.
Nice signing mate

gl hf mate :)

Sell Cabaye before his price goes lower and Delph is the captain.

ouch! big blow with Higuan being banned...i'd probably sell Cabaye too, tbh - he's not playing regularly, and he's taking home a lot of wages for a bench player

Capital One Cup Preview

The Capital One Cup draw was made today and the tie of the round is undoubtedly the first Second City Derby since THAT MATCH where there was widespread violence, stabbings and it is also the match that ended Sky's involvement in the English game.

Aston Villa will travel to Birmingham City on Tuesday 31st October for a 7.45pm kick off and the Birmingham pubs will sensationally not be open at all on that day. This has been agreed at a cost to ensure that no alcohol fueled violence will happen at all on this night.

Birmingham, who unlike Villa are stuggling in there divison being in 22nd place in the Sky Bet Championship but in Sylvain Marveaux and Victor Anichebe they have two strikers with Premier League experiance who on there day could punish Villa if they are not alert to their threat.

Victor Anichebe scored 15 times in 33 matches last season for The Blues and would be relishing the chance to try and show the Premier League that he can still perform at the highest level. In Sylvain Marveaux, Birmingham have a player who is providing Anichebe with the chances to score but the Frenchman has had a career that could have been so much better.

Marveaux is a hit at Birmingham, this is him in his Newcastle days

When he moved from Stade Rennais to Newcastle he was being talked about as a possible French international but it unfortunately did not materialise. After a few bad seasons at Newcastle though he moved back to France on loan and then to Birmingham, where he helped them get promoted from the Sky Bet League 1.

Aston Villa on the other hand are now in the Champions League but with 2 defeats and Atletico coming up just before this game Villa will need to be in form to keep in all competitions.

It is understood changing back to 4-2-3-1 meant that Villa thrashed Spurs 5-0 and it is thought that Villa will stick to that formation again now rotating Rondon, Sturridge and Rowe with 3 attacking midfielders in behind.

Sturridge scored a hattrick last match against Spurs when coming on as a sub

We expect Villa to beat Birmingham comfortably and predict a 4 or 5-0 victory but most of all we will want to make sure there is no more violence or stabbings this time.

October Report

Up 'N' Down Month for The Villans

Aston Villa had what could only be called a dodgy month which included a 5-0 victory, a 5-4 vicotry and a shock 1-0 defeat.

So lets start with the FC Porto match in the Champions League, which is safe to say it has not been a good start for The Villans but when Rondon put them ahead in the 8th minute with a crisp drive into the left hand corner, maybe things were going to look up. It was not to be though and Porto then hit 4th gear and before the half was out they hit 4 goals in 37 minute to give them a great victory and left Villa up the creek without a paddle.

Aston Villa manager Paul McGrath demanded an improvement from Villa for the match against Tottenham and they gave it! Volland and Delph scored within 16 minutes to set The Villans on there way to a 2-0 half time lead. Villa replaced Rondon with Sturridge for the second half and within a 13 minute stint he hit a hat-trick. The first was a headed goal into the roof of the net from a Grealish corner. The second goal was very, very special. He got the ball on the half way line and took on several Spurs players and then smashed the ball from around 30 yards out to score an extra special goal.

Sturridge celebrates his hat-trick

The 3rd goal was after some great play by Volland and Delph to tee up an easy tap in for Sturridge to hit a second half hat-trick. Villa were completely different this time and hopefully it gets better from here.

Villa then defeated West Ham by an amazing 5-4 and will be remembered for by a hat-trick for Jack Grealish. Grealish, who has been at Villa since the start of his career was understandably delighted to have hit a hat-trick and Villa actually deserved the victory and West Ham's four goals flattered them a bit.

Next up was the Champions League and Villa new that a defeat in Spain to Atletico Madrid would end there Champions League hopes. McGrath went with Rondon, Rowe and Sturridge up front in a change to the formation and it paid off. Villa drew 3-3 and it was a draw that was completely and utterly deserved with Volland and Rondon (x2) getting the goals to keep them in the competition but only just!

They then had a disaster in the League and lost to QPR and they all looking knackered.

Aston Villa are now outside the top four but are still in amongst the title contenders it will be interesting to see how they get on this month. It is Arsenal who always seem to top the table at this point but always falter and Newcastle have had a great start. Liverpool are in the relegation zone and have not looked good this season at all.

Uefa Champions League Group

Villa are in 4th and last place but it is still all to play for as 3 wins in there last 3 matches should see them through but none the less it has been a steep learning curve for the side from Birmingham. Villa ARE lucky they drew because it does give them a fighting chance to still qualify.

Villa Player Of The Month

Jack Grealish hit his first competitive hat-trick this month but it was his teamwork that got him this award. He scored three times but set up 4 goals this month and got 3 player of the match awards. If Villa are to challenge for the title then they need to create even more chances like they did last season.
I've been such a silent reader over the past few months but I'm still loving this story as much always. Keep up the good work man.

Higuain News

It has been three weeks now since Higuain got banned but today, astonishingly the case was DROPPED. In a three statements issued by the Police, Higuain himself and Aston Villa we get an insight on what happened and why it happened.

We would to like to sincerely apoligise to both Gonzalo (Higuain) and Aston Villa football club for the events that happened. It was a false allegation and we are pleased to announce that all charges have been dropped and the people who made the allegation that Mr. Higuain was dealing and taking Class A drugs. We understand this has been a stressful time for Mr. Higuain and again can only apoligise unreservedly said a West Midlands police spokesperson.

I am very happy that my name has rightfully been cleared and also that now it has been cleared I can now concentrate on the job in hand, helping Aston Villa to win trophies. It has been a awkward start to the season for me because of all of this but hopefully now I can put it behind me and concentrate on scoring goals for Villa. I can not wait now to play in the match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and would also like to thank Aston Villa for sticking with me through this difficult time said Higuain.

Aston Villa's statement however was aimed at the F.A. We would love to welcome Gonzalo Higuain back to the club and he has been missed. We DID NOT ever think that Gonzalo had ever taken or dealt in drugs but we also will now be considering legal action against the F.A.

The F.A were not available for comment and it is now expected that the Argentine will be in the starting line-up for the home Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
ooooh, be interesting to see how this develops with the club and the FA...good that his name was cleared though!
