We walked into Kingfield Stadium expecting nothing, we left the exact same 2-2 except with another match to stress ourselves with. We edged Bury and York 1-0. We were dominated on television by Shrewsbury 3-1. Drawing with both relegation sides Port Vale and Newport Co 1-1, both away however.
Woking ensured manager Darius Xavier would be celebrating his birthday in style as they beat Bury 1-0 at Kingfield Stadium. Woking's winner came through Scott Rendell as he seized on Issac Hayden's mistake to score a long range effort. Bury nearly gifted them a goal on 46 minutes through Josh Payne's lapse of concentration but they failed to capitalise on the opportunity presented to them. Woking may well look back on the number of shots they took from long range and rue their decisions, as they often proved wasteful.
Woking came out on top in a breezy afternoon at Kingfield Stadium against York City. Defensive midfielder Josh Goddard gave Woking the lead with a placed shot from long range in the 66th minute. Woking had a number of attempts but their prolificacy meant they didn't score as many as they maybe would have liked.
The main reason for Josh Goddard being a key player this month is the fact he has scored the only goals in the last 3 fixtures against York, Port Vale and Newport Co. He has played 15 times, scored 3 times and assisted once. He has 1 man-of-the-match. His overall average rating is 7.11, however in the last 5 games it is 8.30. Josh Goddard has succeeded 964 passes, 19 of them being key. Averaging 12.9km of distance covered in a 90 minute game.
"This month just shows how stupid and undeserving these players actually are. As soon as the finance crew boost up their wages because they have spare money, they start playing like shit. Just typical in modern football, a bit of money and that's it. The only decent player who has been playing with passion is Josh Goddard and I'm happy with his performances recently. I'm just royally pissed off that these average players are getting royalty cheques, yet the true architect is me. I will be considering other jobs after this season..."
