Thank you very much, I have a long story to tell.

January 2017: Prolific

Opposition goalkeepers were met by a confident frontline

The second half of our season had begun and we went into 2017 looking sharp and confident, ready to hit the ground running. The training ground was a merry place - everyone was happy and enjoying their football, and this positive atmosphere would surely work wonders heading into the final part of our promotion race.

January Results

Last time we met Estudiantes de Caracas on the opening day of the season we slumped to a 3-1 defeat. This time around we conceded yet another three goals against the side from the capital, but this time not only did we score once... but a full seven times! Vitinho's first minute goal just put the wheels into motion and there was no looking back form there. Probably not the best day defensively, but I can't complain with a four goal winning margain!

My love of clean sheets was fulfilled this match. After conceding three last game we bounced back and Malerba and co. looked solid and sturdy in a comfortable 3-0 victory over Angostura F.C. We looked assured in attack and the midfield controlled the play and our lone striker Vitinho was at the very top of his game. After netting a brace last game, he managed to go one better this match, with a hat trick in an hour - he's finally starting to look like the replacement for Reyes we needed!

The Brazilian took his goal tally for the month to a grand total of seven in a close fought 3-2 victory over Unión Lara. All three of our strikes, two from Vitinho and another from Granados on the eve of half time, were enough to give us the three points in this clash.

After that home game it was an away trip to the old home of captain Dervis Barrera: Atlético El Vigía. Like two games ago, it was a very complete performance - Geder Barrios nodding home two goals before substitute Meike wrapped up the game with his first goal for the club!

The month, unluckily, would end on a sour note... a loss to Real Anzoátegui. Freddy Granados scored from the spot, but we lost out in what was a pretty poor performance. By now, though, I'd have hoped we'd built up a solid lead at the top of the table.

January League Table

After this impressive run of form, we've got a 4-point gap inbetween us and second placed U.A Falcon after 24 games. With Meike now at the club, I hope we've got another source of goals to come and help us in our bid for promotion - which is looking more and more likely by the day.

January Player of the Month

Vitinho, or #Versatinho as some Hermandad Gallega fans have coined him on social media (aka Feliks), has enjoyed a stellar month of form, netting seven goals. He's got his confidence back and after seven goalless games to start his 'Los Gallegos' career, he's gone on to dramatically improve himself.

Manager's Comments

"A great run of form for the team and I can't be more happy with the lads. The loss at the end was hard to take but I know we'll bounce back and come back better than before. We've got some tough games coming up, and U.A Falcon are hot on our tails so it's important to maintain our focus and remain switched on."
A staggering month! Time to build on your lead

Top Of The Table Clash Coming Soon

First entertains second in a big clash in three weeks

Hermandad Gallega FC will welcome Union Atlético Falcón in what is set to be a mouthwatering top of the table clash in the Segunda Venezolana. Whoever wins will most likely ascend to pole position and become frontrunners for the title this season.

Both Hermandad Gallega and U.A Falcón did not immediately rise to the top of the Venezuelan second tier, instead slowly rising to their respective positions on the back of some very good form, while the early runners in the title race slipped away.

At the beginning of February it is the Valencian side who sit on top. Under manager James Bond they've been moulded into a vibrant attacking side, whilst remaining sturdy at the back, keeping plenty of clean sheets.

U.A Falcon are of a similar mould to their promotion rivals. Having scored 52 goals in twenty four games they are potent upfront and are known for their defensive solidity, which has seen their goal difference drop to a respectable twenty two.

Whilst 'Los Gallegos' have a slightly worse goal difference, their defense proved indomitable in January. The first month of 2017 saw them keep two clean sheets. Bond's side are known for maintaining structure when under pressure, and being a side hard to break down.

It's the home team's attack which has caught the headlines, however. Dervis Barrera has played the role of 'Captain Fantastic' brilliantly, leading the line most games, whereas Vitinho has managed to hit form at the perfect moment - he scored seven goals in January alone, taking his seasonal tally to nine.

New signing Meike adds depth and a different dynamic. Similar to Barrera in stature and style, he's more the archetypal poacher and is not renowned for his work rate or team work. However, he proved he could be a useful signing by tucking away his first goal for the side against Atlético El Vigía.

U.A Falcón's defence will have to be at their very best if they are to contain their opponent's budding strikeforce. However, Hermandad Gallega's strong albeit young defence will also be called into considerable question on the 26th of January, and know that any slip up could prove costly.
Good luck, will be a huge match!
Feliks ty ;)

February 2017: Solid Form

A young defence proved a point in an important month

While we had four equally important games this month, it was obvious we'd focus on one. On the 26th of January we'd welcome U.A Falcón to our fortress and prepare for battle. By then we'd hopefully still have our lead at the pinnacle of the table, which would put us in pole position.

February Results

This game was an odd one. It felt like against Ureña S.C. that we only clicked into gear in the very last quarter of an hour. Locked at 0-0 with just over fifteen minutes remaining, the fans and myself made a desperate shout for the players to push forward. This surge was lead by Meike. He put us ahead in the 74th minute before extending that advantage and putting the game beyond doubt in the 86th minute, before Archila's effort put the icing on the cake. The scoreline for the match tells a different story, but I'm pleased with the win.

Our previous encounter with Portuguesa F.C. was an interesting one, as we fought back from 3-1 down to claim a point away from home. In that match we were underdogs but nineteen games later we were clear favourites as the former Liga Movistar side were struggling for survival. Niel Soto was the man of the match, and his sniper rifle of a right foot was on point in this match. Three outstanding strikes, from midfield, and all from some distance, too.

Whilst all the focus was on Hermandad Gallega vs. U.A Falcón, Aragua were slipping under the radar a bit in third place. They proved stern opposition and we suffered a very tough-to-take loss right before our top of the table game.

On the back of that loss to Aragua, we knew we needed to improve and keep up our lead ahead of the trailing pack in the race for promotion to the Liga Movistar. Víctor Archila's early goal set us on our way and the impressive Meike added a second. Our right winger's second of the game really was the nail in the coffin and, despite a late consolation goal, we held on and cemented a truly astounding victory over the next best team in the league!

February League Table

NO IMAGE SORRY

After that morale-boosting victory in the final game versus U.A Falcón we sit in first place at the end of another month. There's not much time remaining and now we're firmly in the primary position to take the title, but the squad knows that any lapse in concentration will be punished.

Manager's Coments

"The result [against U.A Falcón] was a fantastic one and I can't be more proud of the boys. We dominated them, and after the loss the previous week it was truly a remarkable turnaround considering our frame of mind. We've still got work to do but I know the squad is up for it."
Great stuff! Cruising at the top of the league, good going Bond ;)
Really good month! James Bond is proving to be quite good at this managing thingy, isn't he? ;)
Admit it, you are not really sorry for that image. C*nt imo :(
