Some good results, and now you're in a really good position, really challenging for promotion. Hopefully you can carry this form fowards and break into the top two sometime soon, that would be a great achievement.
Feliks Yup, it was just pretty ordinary, pretty good though.

pompeyblue I feel as though we can just slip under the radar in to those spots and then make them our own.

Borges Fitting In

Marcelo Borges (pictured, right) celebrates his penalty

VALENCIA, VE - While his compatriot Vitinho has struggled to come to life at the Polideportivo Misael Delgado, Marcelo Borges is hitting his stride with 'Los Gallegos', and reveals to Diario Meridiano that he is feeling good about his team's season.

Borges, 23, has endeared himself to the Hermandad Gallega faithful with his enterprising performances on the pitch. The midfielder's creativity, goals and leadership have firmly cemented Borges as a popular face among the club's dressing room.

His manager, James Bond, came out with nothing but praise for Borges and his side after their last month of play, in particular singling out his Brazilian, whose role at the club has quickly elevated from "marquee foreigner" to vice-captain.

After a lean start to his stint in Venezuela, Borges admitted that it was just about getting that first goal, and kicking off from there. "It did take a little longer than the fans probably expected of me," he told Manuel Meza, "But after that first one, it just felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I felt more free and comfortable and now I think I have adapted."

James Bond, like many fans and pundits alike, underestimated his Brazilian's leadership qualities and abilities. Bond admitted that his no. 77 did not strike him as the ideal leader, but that he'd quickly formed himself as part of the club's leadership group.

"The decision to make Marcelo [Borges] vice captain was an easy one, in my opinion," Bond said. "He's a natural leader, a thorough professional. He really makes the team as a whole better and I think, when he's injured or unavailable, we miss his influence a lot."

Other teammates have spoken out about Borges' leadership qualities, and say his influence in the dressing room is a breath of fresh air at times, and the way he also leads by example on the pitch gives him the respect he deserves.

Fans have been impressed with the Brazilian playmaker's form of late, with many stating across social media, forums and blogs that Borges had come to life at the Polideportivo Misael Delgado, and his new found confidence and ability to dictate matches was a positive sight on matchday.

"I think lots of teams will target him now," one fan began to say on Hermandad Gallega's Official Facebook page. "He's been identified as a player who can change games just by setting an example and taking the game by the scruff of the neck, which is a good thing."
Great work from the midfielder, looking forward to more good performances
Blackpool, sign him up!
Feliks Hopefully he maintains his level of performances, as he's really the fulcrum of our side. When he plays well, we play well.

November 2016: Impressing Up Front

Hermandad Gallega utilised a strong frontline

Inconsistency has marred an otherwise good season so far for us, it's now just about putting wins on the board and doing it week in week out. Each month we've been collecting points with the odd blip in between, but from now on we want to really garner some momentum and push on towards a potential promotion push.

November Results

Underperforming Arroceros de Calabozo were first on the agenda in November and we looked to put our favourites tag to use. Normally when Bet365.com make us favourites we capitulate under the pressure, but we made no mistake this time around. Vitinho's deadly finish ensured we came away with the expected result and moved on to the cup.

The Copa Venezuela is a competition I've never really valued any highly, as you may have been able to tell by my complete and utter lack of information or reports on and from this competition. In the third round we were comfortably set aside by Yaracuyanos and, in all honesty, I could not care less...

Our road trip commenced at the beautiful Isla de Margarita, home to Margarita F.C. The tourist stop for most Venezuelan holiday-ers was the home of a showdown been two teams craving promotion. Víctor Archila's goal put us on our way, and in a stressful battle, we arrived from the game unscathed and with three brilliant points in the bag.

You wouldn't have known it was one week later in the calendar. We had an away clash, at a relatively strong team in Diamantes.... at three o'clock, too! Luckily for us, the result was identical, too. This time it was inspirational Marcelo Borges whose early strike got us into gear before we settled the win early in the second half.

ULA FC had set the pace earlier this season but by now they had proven they weren't just good starters. After topping them in the promotion race not to long ago in the Lower Division, it looked like we'd be meeting this side in another, only in the Segunda Venezolana. We demonstrated, however, that we have what it takes under pressure as we coolly disposed of our promotion rivals - keeping a clean sheet simultaneously!

November Table

The question is... where does all this remarkable league form leave us? In first place ladies and gentlemen. Numero uno, le premier, number one! Our lead at the top is only a slender one point advantage over Estudiantes de Caracas, whom we lost to on the opening day of the season. But if we can keep our cool, there's no reason we can't make this spot our own!

November Player of the Month

Patience in this young lad has turned out to be one of the best things I've done at this club. Marcelo Borges' form just goes from one level to the next. His catapult to fan favourite at the Polideportivo Misael Delgado is nothing short of well deserved!

Manager's Comments

"November was a month we can be especially proud of. Rising to the top of the league is a monumental achievement and I hope we can push on from here. Normally form either dips or rises during the Festive season, and hopefully we are on the right side of fortune when that time comes."
Just read your whole story, its brilliant, let hope you can stay top of the league!
Roversfan1 Thank you.

Los Gallegos Hit The Summit

An impressive month of football sees the Valencia club hit the peak

As Hermandad Gallega hit the pinnacle of the Segunda Venezolana for the first time this season, we question whether James Bond's side have what it takes to really push on and make first place their own.

After a confident and assured 2-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Universidad de Los Andes F.C just yesterday, Hermandad Gallega now well and truly feel like promotion material.

Many tipped them for the drop at the beginning of the season. Second season syndrome are three words thrown around regularly when discussing newly-promoted teams and Bond has made sure his men defy that threatening phrase.

Instead, 'Los Gallegos' have ambitiously pursued new horizons in the shape of the Liga Movistar. The top tier of professional football in Venezuela is where every club strives to be and the Valencian club will feel they have inched one step closer to achieving this goal, despite the season still being relatively new.

James Bond refused to comment on such suggestions his side were title material, but did admit to the media that his side's win over ULA FC had a nice feeling afterwards. Bond told Diario Meridiano that the defensive solidity, coupled with control over the midfield and quality finishing meant that his side were now in the form of their lives.

However, captain and leading goalscorer Dervis Barrera warned his side about the issues complacency can bring. When it rears its ugly head it can have damaging effects on not only a game but a season.

"Complacency is an issue we're all well aware of," commented Venezuelan Barrera. "We're determined to show we're here to stay and make top spot our own. The boss has warned us and we know we have to keep this up, not only for ourselves but the fans."
Pffft. HGFC can and will be promoted!
Feliks Your confidence is inspiring ;)

December 2016: Jingle Bells

Christmas time, would it be a month of celebration?

The Christmas trees were going up, the decorations were being added and the presents were being bought! There is nothing better than Christmas time and the icing on the cake would be another positive month in our step towards promotion. Could we sustain this deadly form we'd gotten ourselves in to?

December Results

December was quick and easy. At home we started off with a tight affair at Metropolitanos F.C, which fell their way. Despite Niel Soto's cracking long shot, a trademark of his, we fell to defeat much to my displeasure.

We were back to winning ways only a week later as we overcame a scare at home to Estrella Roja. Another promising promoted side, we were one nil down heading into the final quarter of an hour when proceedings truly began on our behalf.

Clicking into gear, Dervis Barrera nabbed the equaliser and it was from then on we began to press for the win and go for the kill. Christian Carabalí had the honours of putting us ahead with a well taken finish, before Juan Malerba finished off the match within ten minutes of it being well and truly a tight one.

Socopó, struggling dearly, always put up strong showings against us regardless of their league placing. That was no difference today, as it took two goals from Archila and Freddy Granados to really secure a hard fought win.

December League Table

No Table, Apologies

Sorry for the lack of table this month. December seems to be the month I forget the most. I think we retained our spot on top of the table but I can't be entirely sure. We'll see next month, I guess.

December Player of the Month

Freddy Granados takes the plaudits in what is undoubtedly not the team's best month, but hardly their worst either. Granados is starting to become a real terrace favourite at the club, and if he can maintain this level of form, he could etch his name in to Hermandad Gallega history.

Manager's Comments

"A quick month, one which we failed to really gain any momentum out of. The loss hurt, but we bounced back which is the most important part. I'm not going to ridicule my players for losing, it's always going to happen, instead I like to encourage them and make sure they come back stronger and better. That's what we did and I was impressed."
