League Standing

Player of the Month
Harry Kane has been instrumental for us this month bagging 7 goals and playing magnificently.

Just to put into simple stats, 31 goals scored and 1 conceded in our 8 games this month, staggering! We look so confident going forward and we seem to have tightened up at the back. No team really gave us a scare except from Hull City on the last game of the month were they kept us out right until the closing stages of the match, a 2nd straight 2-0 victory at Anfield was the highlight and Harry Kane is banging in the goals after injury's to Rooney & Wilson mean he will be getting much more game time in the coming weeks.
What a month! Into the Capital One Cup final too, wow!
Amazing month, you're putting heavy pressure on Chelsea! Hope you can win the title!
@IWelshWizard: Thanks mate! Hoping to add the Capital One cup to my FA cup from last season :D

@Zed: Cheers :) Even after that perfect month Chelsea won't budge, we play them in a few weeks though so that will be our big chance!

Battle At The Summit

Manchester United have moved to the top of the Barclay's Premier League for the first time since October this evening after a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Both sides went into the clash in fantastic form, Chelsea picking up 27 points from there last 10 games and United 25 points and the game showed plenty of quality from both sides.

Manchester United got off to a dream start just 3 minutes on the clock when Angel Di Maria cooly slotted home from the spot after Cesar Azpilicueta had brought down Memphis Depay in the penalty area. Adam Deverell remained cool on the touchline remaining in his seat during celebration's.

Chelsea struggled to assert themselves in the first half and had Thiabut Cortouis to thank in goal with some fine saves to keep them in the match, Di Maria was also denied a second goal late on by hitting the post.

The visitors improved massively in the second half and only took 8 minutes to get back on level terms, Diego Costa running into the penalty box from the left hand side and managed to beat David De Gea at his near post. Something the young Spaniard would of been disappointed with.

Ross Barkley replaced the tired Michael Carrick just after the hour mark and just 5 minutes later he made the difference with a beauty. The England international got hold of the ball in the middle of the park, burst through the Chelsea players before unleashing an unstoppable shot just outside the box which Cortouis had no chance in saving, United were ahead once more but this time they were determined to hold onto there lead.

Things went from bad to worse for the away side when Willian was taken off injured in the final few minutes of the game and it ended 2-1 the Manchester United who leapfrog there opponents on goal difference.

It won't be long before these two giants meet again, they will meet at the end of the month to contest the Capital One Cup final. Today however it's Manchester United who can celebrate as the title race looks set to be a three horse race with Manchester City still not out of it just yet!
Extremely important win is that mate, well played :)

Capital One Cup Final 2016

Ed Chamberlain: Good afternoon and welcome to the magnificent Wembley stadium for the 2016 Capital One Cup final, to be contested between the Premier league's current top two Chelsea and Manchester United. Joining me for this are Gianfranco Zola and Dwight Yorke, Gian how do you access the two sides going into this?

Zola: Firstly let me say it's a pleasure to be here with you, both these teams have been fantastic all season and have remained very close to one another throughout so it's very hard to see how this will end up but i do expect a fascinating match.

Yorke: I agree if you look at both sides stats throughout the campaign there so similar both scoring plenty of goals & remaining tight at the back, i'm going to go for United this afternoon, Adam Deverell has got them playing some fantastic football and there victory over Chelsea a couple of weeks ago can only stand them in good stead.

Ed Chamberlain: I see your wearing the United red today Dwight..

Yorke: Haha i have to go with my team! It will be a fantastic contest and i'm sure the 90,000+ that will attend won't be disappointed.

Zola: It is vital they get off to a good start, any sign of loss of concentration from either side will see the other look to capitalize and with the quality of the player's out there they can't afford many mistakes.

Yorke: Jose Mourinho is massively experienced in these big games whereas Adam Deverell is still new to it all, of course he won the FA cup last year but that was just his first and this may stand well for Chelsea having been in these situation's many times before.

Ed Chamberlain: Well were almost set for this titanic showdown first let's bring you the team news and both sides paths to the final.

Deverell Play's Down The Quadruple

Manchester United were treble winner's in 1999 could they go one step better?

Adam Deverell has quickly played down talk of his sides chances of winning the quadruple this season.

His Manchester United side are currently sitting level on points with Chelsea in the Premier League, face a quarter final tie with Everton in the FA cup and hold a 2-1 lead over Benfica in the 1st leg of there Champion's League last 16 tie. On top of this they already have the League cup in the bag after a 3-0 win over Chelsea last Sunday.

Whilst he acknowledges they do have a chance to make history, Deverell knows his side needs to take it one step at a time and defender Chris Smalling echoed those words..

He said "the gaffer bans any sort of talk of the quad in the dressing room, it's forbidden, this is not him saying he doesn't believe we are capable but instead demand's full concentration for the next game."

"We know as player's to achieve our goals we must put 100% effort in every game, thats what the manager wants. Of course it's nice to know your still in all the competition's available at this stage of the season but we also can't let ourselves get blurred by the potential rewards we don't yet have."

Adam Deverell particularly has his sights set on the FA cup, a competition they haven't won since 2004 yet have won it 11 times.

"All the competition's are equally important to us, the FA cup is the one i want hold of more than any though as it's a trophy we've struggled to get our hands on in recent years and that needs to change. To of only been in one final since 2004 is bizzare as i feel we've had the squads over that period who were more than capable of winning it."

"The win against Chelsea was very satisfying not just the victory but also the performance overall. It's very pleasing to see your team come out and dominate a football match for 90 minutes."

"We still have plenty of matches to go. Yes it is true what Chris said i don't allow any talk of all four trophies. There can be no room for distraction's."

Manchester United turn there attention back to the Premier League this weekend for the Manchester derby at Old Trafford before welcoming Everton in the FA cup a few days later.

If Adam Deverell has no interest in quadruple talk now he may just have a different view if results go there way in the next couple of weeks.
Ah, playing mind games I see ;)
They always do play it down :P
