But you already have THE Carroll ;)

West Ham were hoping 2016 would be a great year for the club, chasing Europa League qualification and moving forward in a positive manner. January was a jam packed month, with 8 matches played. Let's see how the Hammers went.

Results

FA Cup 3rd Round
BOLTON 2-2
Adrian, Lowton, Tomkins, Kouyate, Hendrie, Leiva, Flamini, Noble (Mason), Amalfitano, Lingard (Downing), Carroll (Valencia)
Cheikhou Kouyate, Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll (West Ham)

A rotated West Ham outfit played out a frustrating draw with Championship club Bolton, going 1-0 up, then 2-1 down, and relying on unfit striker Andy Carroll to equalise late in the game. With the game being at home, West Ham will now travel to Bolton later in the month for the replay.

Barclays Premier League
READING 0-0
Adrian, Ivanovic, Sviatchenko, Kouyate, Oviedo, Leiva (Lowton), Coquelin (Carroll), Noble, Amalfitano, Downing (Ibe), Valencia
None
Andre Wisdom (Liverpool)

Reading held out at home against West Ham, with a top defensive performance giving them a point at a stage where every point is crucial. Enner Valencia's goal drought continues however as Allardyce continues to put faith in him.

FA Cup 3rd Round Replay
BOLTON 1-0
Adrian, lOWTON, Sviatchenko, Kouyate, Oviedo, Coquelin (Flamini), Mason (inj Leiva), Noble (inj Nolan), Ibe, Jarvis, Valencia
Cheikou Kouyate
Medo (Bolton)

West Ham did not look assured in their away win over Bolton, with a Kouyate penalty putting them through to the next round. Much like their home draw, the Hammers looked complacent at times and will hope for improved performances in the rest of their campaign.

Barclays Premier League
LEICESTER 2-0
Adrian, Ivanovic (inj Lowton), Sviatchenko, Kouyate, Oviedo, Leiva (Coquelin), Noble, Carroll, Amalfitano, Downing (Ibe), Valencia
Stewart Downing, Kasper Schmeichel (OG)
Mark Noble (West Ham)

West Ham got a serviceable win at home over a relegation-threatened Leicester, with Kasper Schmeichel scoring an embarrassing own goal to seal the deal for the opposition. New signing Thomas Carroll impressed in his first start for the club.

Barclays Premier League
STOKE 1-4
Adrian, Ivanovic, Sviatchenko, Kouyate, Oviedo, Leiva, Noble (Flamini), Carroll (Coquelin), Ibe, Downing (inj), Guidetti (Valencia)
John Guidetti
Hiroshi Kiyotake (Stoke)

A match which West Ham will want to put firmly behind them as Stoke put 4 past Adrian to record a great win at Britannia Stadium. John Guidetti equalised with his first league goal for West Ham on the brink of half time but a disappointing collapse saw the Hammers concede 2 goals in the dying minutes of the match, suffering an embarrassing 4-1 defeat.

FA Cup 4th Round
HUDDERSFIELD 3-0
Adrian, Lowton, Sviatchenko (Ivanovic), Kouyate, Hendrie, Coquelin (Leiva), Flamini (Noble), Carroll, Amalfitano, Jarvis, Valencia
Enner Valencia (x3)
Enner Valencia (West Ham)

Both West Ham and Enner Valencia returned to form at The John Smith's Stadium as the Ecuadorian striker put a hat trick past the Huddersfield keeper, advancing his side to the 5th Round. Huddersfield never looked in it as West Ham dominated the match, giving a much needed morale boost for the upcoming matches.

Barclays Premier League
LIVERPOOL 3-3
Adrian, Ivanovic, Sviatchenko, Kouyate, Oviedo (Hendrie), Leiva, Coquelin (Carroll), Noble, Amalfitano (Ibe), Downing, Valencia
Enner Valencia (x3)
Enner Valencia (West Ham)

Enner Valencia single handedly rescued his club against Liverpool, scoring an equalising hat trick as West Ham recorded a famous fighting draw at The Boleyn Ground. Liverpool's goals in the 8th, 30th and 45th minutes were nullified by Valencia goals in the 25th, 46th and 57th minute as West Ham defend their Europa League position.

Barclays Premier League
MANCHESTER CITY 1-5
Adrian, Ivanovic, Sviatchenko (Zambrano), Kouyate, Oviedo (Hendrie), Leiva (Coquelin), Coquelin, Noble, Ibe, Downing, Valencia
Stewart Downing
Samir Nasri (Manchester City)

West Ham showed they still had a way to come, losing 5-1 to league leaders Manchester City as Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguero dominated the Hammers' defence. Stewart Downing's goal, bringing the score to 3-1, was a glimmer of hope but Wanyama and Bony goals sealed the deal for City who continue their title chase.

The table is heating up with just 11 games to go as West Ham fall slightly back from their previous top 4 spot. They still have a 1 point lead over Liverpool, but Spurs may overtake them due to their game in hand. Nonetheless, the Europa League spot is still a realistic goal.

Player Of The Month

Cheikhou Kouyate

With Zambrano out injured for most of the month, Senegalese defensive midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate stepped in and impressed with his athletic ability and surprising scoring prowess. Somewhat of a bit part player, his performances this month may just give him some extra standing in the West Ham squad.

Injury Update

Mathieu Flamini dislocated his shoulder in training on the 29th of January and is expected to be out for a further 2 months.
Glad to see the Trotters at least gave ya a fight! Great season so far. Don't let this fall short!

It was an almost perfect month at West Ham, winning all 4 games in the league but faltering in the cup. Sam Allardyce celebrated his first Manager of the Month award this season.

Results

Barclays Premier League
ARSENAL 3-0
Adrian, Ivanovic, Sviatchenko, Zambrano, Oviedo, Leiva (Kouyate), Noble, Carroll (Nolan), Ibe (Amalfitano), Downing, Valencia
Stewart Downing, Laurent Koscielny (OG), Enner Valencia
Stewart Downing (West Ham)

Arsenal were blown out of the water by West Ham who showed their cross town rivals how to finish, hitting the target 8 times more than the Gunners despite registering 6 less shots. Stewart Downing was the architect on the day, scoring one and assisting another as West Ham put real pressure on the top 4 clubs, including Arsenal.

Barclays Premier League
NEWCASTLE 1-0
Adrian, Lowton, Sviatchenko, Kouyate (red), Oviedo, Coquelin, Noble (Leiva), Carroll (Mason (inj)) Ibe (Downing), Jarvis, Valencia
Matt Jarvis
Jon Flanagan (Newcastle)

A run-of-the-mill 1-0 win over Newcastle at home as West Ham continue their attack on the Champions League places. A dominant but passive display from the Hammers was almost jeopardised by a 90th minute red card for centre back Cheikhou Kouyate but luckily a crisis was averted.

FA Cup 5th Round
BOURNEMOUTH 1-2
Adrian, Ivanovic, Zambrano (inj Lowton), Sviatchenko, Oviedo, Leuva (Coquelin), Noble, Carroll, Ibe (Amalfitano), Downing, Valencia
Enner Valencia
Baily Cargill (Bournemouth)

Considering their recent form, West Ham will be very disappointed to have been eliminated from the cup by a team of Bournemouth's calibre, especially after being the better team for most of the night. A stunning free kick by centre back Baily Cargill put Bournemouth in the lead, before target man Ranegie doubled it just before half time. Enner Valencia was the only response however as the Hammers tumble out at the 5th round.

Barclays Premier League
WEST BROM 1-0
Adrian, Ivanovic , Sviatchenko, Zambrano, Oviedo, Leiva, Noble, Carroll (Coquelin), Ibe, Downing (Amalfitano (inj)), Valencia (Mason)
Jordon Ibe
Youssouf Mulumbu (West Brom)

The Baggies will consider themselves unlucky to lose this one as West Ham capitalised on their chances to record a 1-0 win on the road. It was Liverpool loanee Jordon Ibe who got it done for the Hammers, pushing them within a point of 4th placed Arsenal.

Barclays Premier League
CARDIFF 2-1
Adrian, Ivanovic, Zambrano, Sviatchenko, Oviedo (Hendrie), Leiva, Noble, Carroll (Mason), Ibe, Downing, Valencia (Guidetti)
Ryan Mason, Jordon Ibe
Jack Grealish (Cardiff)

A late flurry saved West Ham from an embarrassing defeat after staring down the barrel of a 1-0 loss in the 80th minute. However, a stunning strike from Ryan Mason equalised in the 82nd minute and with the clock ticking down it was Jordon Ibe who struck the winning blow with a tap-in at the far post which is becoming synonymous with the West Ham wingers.

After a brilliant month, West Ham will be elated with their current position, sitting a game ahead of 6th placed Tottenham and a point ahead of 5th placed Arsenal. It's turning into a great battle for that final Champions League spot and West Ham are certainly right in it.

Player Of The Month

Jordon Ibe

The Liverpool loanee is moving closer and closer to a first team spot at Liverpool upon his return after a terrific February and an overall great 2015/16 season thus far. Ibe scored twice over the 5 games, contributing 3 goals and 5 assists so far this season and becoming one of the league's best young players.

Injury Update

Mathieu Flamini dislocated his shoulder in training on the 29th of January and is expected to be out for a further 3 to 5 weeks.
Strong month yet again, 4th looks like a real possibility!
ooooh, tense!

Ibe is a machine!

Quite a race for that 4th place spot, will be exciting!
Dayum, it's tight! Some tough run-ins for everyone!

It was a short but important month at The Boleyn Ground, with 3 matches being played as teams jostled for a top 4 spot. Sitting in 4th

Barclays Premier League
CHELSEA 1-1
Adrian, Ivanovic, Zambrano, Sviatchenko, Oviedo, Coquelin (Leiva), Noble, Carroll (Mason), Amalfitano, Downing, Valencia (inj Ibe)
Mark Noble
Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

West Ham hosted Chelsea in a huge game for both clubs and by the end of the night it was clear both teams deserved a point. West Ham had 2 or 3 prime chances to win, but in the end only captain Mark Noble could score and his side went into the first half 1-0 up. The prolific pairing of Hazard and Costa however was too much for the West Ham defence to handle as they wrestled back the draw in the 52nd minute through the Spanish striker, ending the game with that scoreline.

Barclays Premier League
SWANSEA 1-0
Adrian, Ivanovic, Zambrano, Sviatchenko, Oviedo, Leiva, Noble, Carroll, Ibe (Amalfitano), Downing, Valencia
Enner Valencia
Thomas Carroll (West Ham)

West Ham had a tricky away schedule to play at Swansea but managed a 1-0 win in the end after Enner Valencia scored within the first 60 seconds of the match. Central midfielders Mark Noble and Thomas Carroll had commanding displays, dictating tempo and allowing West Ham to sit back and defend on their lead for 89 minutes.

Barclays Premier League
MIDDLESBROUGH 2-0
Adrian, Ivanovic, Zambrano, Sviatchenko, Oviedo, Leuva, Noble, Carroll, Ibe, Downing, Valencia
Carlos Zambrano, Enner Valencia
Enner Valencia (West Ham)

The high flying Middlesbrough are one of the overachieving sides this season but were no match for another overachiever, with goals from West Ham's 2 South Americans downing the home side. Enner Valencia picked up man of the match with a stunning 63rd minute strike.

West Ham are in for one of their best seasons in a long, long time as they sit 4 points ahead of their nearest opponent, Spurs. At this stage, a Champions League spot could be a possibility but with this current position nothing less than a Europa League spot is good enough for West Ham fans.

Player Of The Month

Mark Noble

The captain put in a great performance over March, moving into a more dynamic role in the midfield after the arrival of Thomas Carroll. 3 stellar performances proved his ability to play in a more defensive role after being moved from defensive midfielder last season, and with Carroll and Leiva, is forming a vital midfield trio for the Hammers.

Injury Update

Adrian pulled his hamstring in training on the 29th of March and will is expected to be out for a further 2 to 3 weeks.
Looking good for a spot in Europe mate, keep it up.

Loving this by the way, about time I commented :P
Nicely worked there! Keep it up!
Champions League is coming!
C'mon West Ham hold on it's yours to lose now. An amazing season so far and you really deserve a Champions League place.
