Two Come In To Replace Foderingham

Rangers have signed two goalkeepers to replace the outgoing Wesley Foderingham for a combined fee of £1.45 million. Leandro Chichizola has arrived from Spezia and Raffaele Di Gennaro has arrived from Inter after impressing Warburton in the Next Gen Series in 2011-2012. He arrives for £350k

Chichizola started his career with Club Sanjustino de San Justo. In 2008 signed for River Plate, who made his professional debut on 13 February 2011 in the first round of the Clausura 2011 tournament in a 0-0 draw against Tigre. He continued to play as River's first choice goalkeeper keeping clean sheets in all of his first four games for the club.

On 13 March 2011 he conceded his first goal in a game against Vélez Sársfield after miskicking the ball straight to the opposition striker Santiago Silva. In the following game against Arsenal de Sarandí he was dropped from the first team after the usual first team goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo returned to fitness. He spent five years at River before moving to Spezia last year.

Mark Warburton has definitely taken a risk as Chichizola has to obtain a work permit before playing. He has been rejected but Manager Warburton believes that he will get one. ' I believe Leandro will get a work permit in the next couple of months and be a big part of this team.

Di Gennaro was the starting goalkeeper for Internazionale Primavera, who ended up winning the NextGen Series and the Campionato Nazionale Primavera. Di Gennaro missed half of the both 2010–11 and 2011–12 season due to injury. Di Gennaro remained as one of the keeper for Primavera in 2012–13 season as overage player.

In his first season, Di Gennaro kept 12 clean sheets for Cittadella in 39 matches, only conceding 47 goals throughout the 2013/14 season. On July 11, 2014 he joined Serie B side Latina for his second loan spell. Di Gennaro is also eligible to represent the San Marino national football team if he choose to do so as his mother was born in San Marino.

Mark Warburton said' I first came across Raffaele at the Next Gen Series when his team won it. He was an important player for them and he will be an important player for us with the potential to grow.'

Di Gennaro said' I am pleased that Mark has signed me as I talked to him at the series and he knows the way to develop talent.'

Rangers started off their top flight campaign with a host of signings. Mark Uth who scored 13 goals in 28 games for Standard after joining them from SC Heerenveen for £750k. Mark Uth was signed for £2 million. Jason Demetriou joined from Walsall on a free after his contract ran out.

Riccardo Improta made his loan move permanent after impressing Rangers' fans and manager Mark Warburton with his performances towards last season. Scott Allan was next after he joined from Hibernian for a paltry £350k. He was the leading assist maker with fellow Rangers player Rolando Aarons.

Leandro Chichizola joined after first choice keeper Wes Foderingham left for £1.6 million. He has been in the stands recently for not having a work permit. Vincent Pajot joined on a free after not signing a new contract at AS Saint-Etienne. Raffaele Di Gennaro joined after being transfer listed at Inter Milan.

Rolando Aarons has been sent back to Newcastle after being injured for 6 months.this means that Rangers needed a left winger and they signed Daniele Verde from Roma on a loan deal which lasts till the end of the season.

Marc Bertran, Paul Koncheskey, Marco Storari and Cristian Ceballos have joined after many of the starting eleven complained about the lack of competition.

John Eustace ,after a good season, joined Portsmouth on a £125k deal. Nano joined Turkish club Antalyaspor for £50k and Nicky Clark joined Hamilton for £28k.

Last years top scorer Calum Gallagher joined Nottingham Forest for £850k after asking to leave. Wesley Foderingham also asked to leave and Mark Warburton sold him to Bolton for a fee of £1.6 million.Robbie McCrorie, Robbie Crawford, Ross Lyon and Barrie McKay all left on loan to Scotland;s lower league clubs.
