This is really nice, I like what you did by choosing a team that normally nobody would be. You gave me inspiration to lead a team in the Dutch Jupiler League, it is much more fun than to be a top 4 team in the highest division in a country.
@gijsvdboom: Thanks for commenting! I feel like every team in FM should get to be played at least once, I like to give myself teams with plenty of room to grow, and to make my own. If I were to take control of PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord, or even Twente or Utrecht, I would just feel like a cog in a machine, instead of the prime mover I am with a smaller team.

Hopefully your save goes well. Do you have any idea of what team you want to be? I've been Excelsior before.
Go Jong Ajax! haha, Almere City is great huh? Good month, keep it up!
@Jasper: I'm getting into it, if I can get past the first season I'll be into it.

Almere City 1.04 - October 2014

Almere City 1 - 1 Achilles'29
The ref had a lot of influence over the course as the match as first he gave Achilles'29 player Daniel van Straaten a red card for a bad tackle, and then awarded them a penalty when Jason Oost committed a foul in the box. Despite being in control and having an extra player, we were playing from behind much of the match, and only got a point from Fabian Serrarens's goal.

Almere City 1 - 0 Sparta
Sparta were incredibly scattershot and if they had better finishing they could've scored some goals. Anil Bayram Gulner took his chance well, though, and scored the only goal of the match.

RKC Waalwijk 2 - 0 Almere City
Waalwijk played like they were the top team in the league, and Arsenio Valpoort's crossing game proved too strong as he assisted Rodney Antwi on two early goals. Waalwijk comprehensively outplayed us, preventing us from getting many good chances on goal.

NEC 2 - 3 Almere City
Rogier Meijer was both goat and hero in a wide open game, he scored an own goal which equalized things at 2-2, but then scored a classic deep-lying playmaker goal to win it for us, cutting through the muck from the top of the penalty box.

KNVB Beker 3rd Round
ADO Den Haag 4 - 0 Almere City
The gulf between the two clubs was evident as ADO Den Haag, led by Ewandro's brace, completely turned us out.

Jupiler League Table

9th, although we have a game in hand. If there's one thing that needs to be improved on it's goalscoring. If our defense breaks down our attack can't be relied on to keep up.
I started a save with Sparta Rotterdam, had some good transfers coming in and going out. After 4 matches I am kn 4th place, the team is improving every match. The only thin I bother is that the players keep complaining when I dl something they don't like
You've improved from the start :)..

Almere City 1.05 - November 2014

Almere City 3 - 1 Helmond Sport
Helmond Sport are playing what may be the most ambitious formation I've ever seen an AI use in FM. It didn't work out too well for them, as Fabian Serrarens had a brace, and we had a great team play where Mamedov and the Helmond goalkeeper were chasing a long pass, Mamedov got to it first and the goalkeeper was horribly out of position, Mamedov crossed to Gulner who hit the open net for the third goal.

Emmen 0 - 0 Almere City
There really isn't much to say about this one, both teams had their chances but held firm, a good point against a top-table team although we could and possibly should have taken three.

Almere City 1 - 0 MVV
Rodney Sneijder's goal from deep was the only goal of the match, and despite Norair Mamedov and Lars Nieuwpoort being forced off with injuries and reducing our numbers, we held on for an important win. Nieuwpoort suffered a torn calf muscle and will miss 5-6 months.

Volendam 1 - 0 Almere City
Volendam looked to take the lead early after we conceded a penalty, but Agil Etemadi saved it. It looked to be a goalless draw, but Henk Veerman broke clean through on goal late and dashed our hopes by scoring.

Almere City 5 - 0 Telstar
I am so proud of the team effort today as everyone played their part to perfection and we had five different goalscorers in the match.

Jupiler League Table

We've climbed up to 7th, and have started threatening the playoff spots. Injuries are threatening our position, but I'm confident we can overcome them.

Almere City 1.06 - December 2014

Jong Twente 1 - 1 Almere City
Both teams struggled in attack, and a late Jong Twente goal resigned us to a draw.

De Graafschap 3 - 3 Almere City
We did it again! We blew another two goal lead against De Graafschap!

Almere City 3 - 2 Roda JC
We get a big win and a very hard-earned 3 points against the top team on the table as Enzio Boldewijn led the way with two goals scored with two very spectacular finishes.

Almere City 1 - 3 Eindhoven
A really uncharacteristically out-and-out bad performance, by the time we got going it was much too late, and it really hurt our high-table aspirations.

Jupiler League Table

We're doing well to be in the upper half of the table but I think we've got another gear in us, I'm going to dig up our pocket change and see if I can make some additions that will push us towards a playoff spot.

Almere City sign Alexander N'Doumbou

Almere City are glad to have finalized the signing of winger Alexander N'Doumbou on a free transfer. The Gabonese international, who has been capped 7 times, failed to make the breakthrough at Marseille, but clearly the staff at Almere City saw enough to sign him to a two-year deal on 1100 Euros per week. N'Doumbou is skilled with both feet, although he prefers his right. He can dribble and cross, and is a highly technical player. The coaching staff says he will be integrated into the team during winter break, then start as soon as league play resumes.

Top of the table! Hopefully you'll be able to secure a play-off spot!
You're doing great right now, right near the playoff picture. Hopefully you can do it!
Great signing and great season so far, wouldn't have expected it at a club like Almere!
I'm really enjoying it, please keep it up! Awesome season so far
he looks like a challenging little customer!
