AliciaWAFC and Griffo It was crazy and very intense. After that game I decided to go for Areola as Hilderbrandt was causing me to go nuts in that game haha

Jack He is getting better. I still can't believe how good he has been for me!

September News and Notes

So September was a very good month as we kept up the good form from the previous month by not losing or drawing in a single match. Honestly I can't believe that we are doing so well!! Anyways in five league matches we out played our opponents by scoring 13 goals while only allowing 5. In my opinion that is really damn good.

So we started our Open Cup journey at the end of the month. Last year the club failed to advance from their first match last season. I was looking to change that as we were drawn against Enid Soccer Club. If you recall last year when I was the head coach at Loudoun Soccer Club we faced them in the Second Qualifying Round. We had lost that match and were knocked out. This match was kind of a revenge match for me. We would beat them 2-1. That was awesome as I got the club their first Open Cup victory and revenge on my part. So we were the drawn San Antonio Pumas for the Third Qualifying Round. I faced them last year with Loudoun and beat them. soo hopefully I can get the same result.

For Player of the Month I chose Hervin Ongenda due to his hard work and goal scoring. In each match he was averaging around a 9.0 rating and that really impressed me. Bishop was close with four goals. Mark Silva also had a great month as well.

Next month will be crazy busy. Right now there are 9 matches set for October. We get to face Green Bay in a rescheduled match and also San Antonio. I really hope the team can stay in form and fitness levels are good. We can't afford any issues with nine matches on the plate.

Finally there is some good and bad news for the club. During the monthly meeting with the board and the guys over at PSG. We should start with the good. So sometime during the winter break I will be flying to Paris to meet the coaching staff and learn from them. I am excited so is the wife!! Going to Paris is going to be awesome.

Bad news now. During the meeting we were talking finances and this is not good at all. Back in preseason we were making money thanks to the friendlies but now we are pretty deep in debt. According to the report we are just under $400k in debt. This is scary because we are almost to the administration threshold. So these things could happen to help with the debt. First sell some players, I don't want that to happen but if we have to then oh well. Secondly is fire me, yes i said that apparently my wages are a bit high as they didn't factor those in early on so my job could be on the line. Here are the reports. Summary,Income and Expenditure.

Who the Hell is Danny Bishop? An interview with Chicago Magic's Danny Bishop
Tuesday, October 18, 2016

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS- Who the hell is Danny Bishop and why should we care?? Well he is seen as one of the best lower league players in America at this current time. The 22 year old Chicago Native has turned many heads this season and his stock is rising rapidly. We sat down with him after his clubs 4-1 win against Mississippi Brilla, in the match he would score his 16th goal of the season.

"Danny what do you believe is the reason for your amazing year so far especially since it is just October?
"Well I believe it is the head coach. Kevin (Arnold) has been the biggest reason that I have had this year so far. His formation use of a 4-3-4 and a 4-2-31 has really helped my game especially in the roles I play. Also i have a great group of teammates that have been a factor as well."

"About your manager what were your thoughts when he came in? From what i heard it was announced with some hesitation.
"Coach is an amazing person and knows his stuff. Honestly at first I thought he was going to be a failure especially since he is still quite young and not as experienced. The jump from one of the lowest levels to where we are now is very challenging and so far he is handling it well. Coach will be here for a while.

"Were you at all worried when Hervin Ongenda joined the club on loan?"
"Honestly not at all, since joining Hervin and I have made a great partnership plus we have rotated between the AMC and ST positions. We have different styles but somehow it all works. Hopefully the club can get him to stay on a longer period of time."

"There are rumors that clubs in higher divisions are starting to notice you, what do you think about that?"
"Well I am very flattered that some clubs are interested in me that I am starting to be seen more. Hopefully I can continue turning heads."

"Would you be interested in moving clubs?"
"I mean yes but right now I want to focus on the Magic, this club can go big and I want to be part of it right now."

Ok, we know you hold dual citizenship with England, have you decided who you would represent if called up?
"Wow that is something I haven't though about at all haha. I really do not know.

"We notice that the Magic do not have much of an attendance mostly because the Chicago Area is full of clubs, do you have anything to say to bring people out?
"Yes actually. Look there might be a ton of clubs in Chicagoland but Chicago Magic play a beautiful attacking style of soccer, it is easy to get to via METRA (Chicago's train service), and tickets are very affordable. We need all the support so people reading this please come out!!"

"Finally do you have any advise for those who might be in your shoes or position?"
" Don't give up and work hard. The big thing for me is that I have been working hard improving my game and that is really the key."

Well that is all with the interview of Danny Bishop. His Chicago Magic will face the Cleveland City Stars tomorrow at the College of DuPage. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
Great interview, classy player as well!

October News and Notes

October was a very busy month with nine total matches. We kept up the form despite having a loss and a draw in the month. Honestly those two bad results were not much of an issue as we have been on fire. At this point a few slip ups are ok but as long as we keep it a minimum. There is one result that I would love to discuss. Our match against Ocala (Florida) was insane. We won 7-0. It was crazy as Hervin had three goals and Danny had three.

Table wise we are now on top with 41 points. I told the guys earlier this year we could of been here and some doubted me, now they are glad I proved them wrong, hopefully we can keep it up. Just to fill you in in Puerto Rico first. They could be first but they have played less matches due to the Puerto Rico Cup they are in.

Speaking of cup play we are on fire. A year ago this team not I at Loudoun thought you could go this far but we are. In October we had two cup matches and won both. Now in November things are going to be interesting. We will be facing Kitsap Pumas of USL League 1 in the First Round. Yes that is right we are in the first proper round. This is insane because cup money can get us out of debt. In other cup news we will be the the USSF Trophy sometime this month.

Best player of the month is Hevin once again. This kid is something special and I am thankful he is with us on loan. During October he scored ELEVEN goals. Dude was on fire all month especially against Green Bay where he scored four in the match. So thanks to that insane month he is now third in the league with 18 goals, two behind Danny.

November will be another busy month. We will be playing between 6-8 matches depending on the cup situation. I have the 19th circled on the team board as it is against Baltimore Comets. This will be a revenge match!

Chicago Magic 5-0 Kitsap Pumas
November 10, 2016

Glen Ellyn, Illinois- Chicago Magic of the USSF National League Eastern Conference (USSFE) are starting to make some noise in the cup. Last year if you recall they were knocked out in the First Qualifying Round in a close match against Little Rock. Now a year later they have made it farther than what was predicted. Last night in front of 61 fans the club would advance to the Second Round as they beat Kitsap Pumas (USL1) 5-0.

In a match that was predicted too close to call Kevin Arnold's squad made sure that wasn't the case. The 5-0 route of the visitors came from their two leading scorers Danny Bishop and Hervin Ongenda like the majority of matches this season. Bishop would be the man of the match thanks to his hatrick. Bishop now has three goals in the cup. Ongenda on the other hand has three as well.

"Oh my, I can't believe we are on this run, at the start of the season I did not think we would go this far in the cup and I am excited to see what the next round is like."- Kevin Arnold after the match.

With this victory the club was drawn against Ontario Fury (USL2) of California. The match is set for December 7th at the College of DuPage.
