Good to see the captain staying with you

Yeah was a nice little boost! Just hope he can return to fine form after a length lay off!
Certainly an important player when fit, hopefully this will give the squad a lift and make them play with more confidence :P
Got a good player tied down there mate!

Yeah he is, just hope he returns from injury relatively quickly! Hopefully it will and we can go into the new season with morale at a high!

- American full back named as Captain until Chris Cohen returns
- Club Captain out for 6 months with Vice Captain Andy Reid out for longer
- Lichaj was one of the stand out players in Nigel Clough’s first pre-season at the City Ground

Nigel Clough has today announced that American full back Eric Lichaj has been named as the club’s captain until the end of permanent captain Chris Cohen’s return to action. With Andy Reid also out injured for an even longer period, the captaincy at the club was left almost vacant, and after a fantastic pre-season under the new manager, Eric Lichaj has been chosen as the man to lead Nottingham Forest out on the pitch.

The American, who is going into his third season at the City Ground, took the opportunity to express his delight at being given the armband even if it is only temporary, by posting on his personal twitter account. ”Delighted to be given the chance to captain this team. It shows how much faith the manager has in me and hopefully I can lead this team forward, even if it is only temporary.”

Meanwhile, the man in charge himself said he trusted Eric Lichaj to be the best captain he could be during his time with the armband. ”He is a standout player, that has had a very good pre-season and I am confident that going into the season ahead that he can do just as good a job as Chris would have done and will do when he returns from his injury. The team’s on the pitch matters are in very safe hands.”

Lichaj has plenty of experience, should do a good stand-in job.
Always loved Lichaj from his stint at Leeds, great player and no doubt a good stand-in captain

Yeah been very impressed by him so far and more than deserves his chance to prove himself as captain!

Yeah he's been a quality player and is filling Cohen's shoes really well! Hopefully he can stay with us for a long time as we aim for a place in the Premier League :D
Great move at captain
Lichaj is a fairly decent player...

If my thoughts are correct, he once played for Albion in the PRM??

Thanks mate, hopefully he pays me back with his performances on the pitch!

Yeah I didn't think very highly of him when I came in but he's really impressed me so far!

Ermmm he might have done, but he was at Villa for quite a while before he joined Forest on a free :)
Lichaj is a very underrated player and should do a good job as captain, good move from yourself.
