Liverpool from Doubters to Believers

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/03469/Klopp_3469709b.jpg

Liverpool a team full of history, numerous champions league trophy's icons of the English game are now stuck in mid table purgatory, can energetic German manager Jürgen Klopp revive the reds old success and claim their 1st premier league title or maybe even claim their 6th Champions League trophy, the German definitely has a task on his hands

Klopp said in a recent interview “I am 100 per cent excited about the challenge,” Klopp told reporters. “It gets better and better by the day. Why? Because I know more. I am patient enough to work for the moment and then we can change things. He continued: “To become successful in the future we need to learn a lot of things. The first thing is that you really need to work to go there. “We can’t be successful just because of the history of the club or the name of the manager or the names of the players.

Klopp is looking to right the wrongs and get the most out of this squad that he has inherited from Brendan Rodgers, the squad includes such world class players as Philippe Coutinho,England international Daniel Sturridge and the 21 million pound man Roberto Firmino. The defence will also be a key area for Klopp to work on as many people believe the defence cost Liverpool the league in 2013/14 and has been a massive problem for Liverpool in the last couple of years.

Squad report

Goalkeepers

Simon Mignolet Adam Bogdan

The position of goalkeeper is a interesting one for Liverpool the 1st choice keeper Simon Mignolet is an excellent shot stopper however that just isn't enough at this level his command of his area and distribution is lacking this has then led to many people questioning does he really deserve to be Liverpool's first choice keeper? Many fans are asking for Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen to become Liverpool's new goalkeeper this will be one area Jurgen Klopp will definitely be looking to strengthen in the summer. Liverpool's backup/ second keeper is Hungarian international Adam Bogdan a recent purchase from Sky Bet Championship side Bolton, the jury is still out on Bogdan to see if he has enough quality to stay in the top division as he had a mixed spell when he was previously in the Premier League with Bolton

Defenders

Dejan Lovren
MamadouSakho
Martin Skrtel

Defenders are vital for any team if its a key tackle, or even a goal defenders are the spine of a team, Liverpool's defenders are good if they want to take a step forward they need to invest in a new and improved defense Lovren is a great aerial threat and isnt beaten easily in the air, the same with Sakho however both lack concentration which could easily cost you the game, Skrtel the most experienced of the 3 is reliable however just like the others his passing from the back is poor and because of his age cant really be improved upon. The introduction of Joel Matip in the summer will steady and secure the back line but for now Klopp may look at more stable and secure options for his defense

Full backs

Jose Enrique Nathaniel Clyne Alberto Moreno

Full backs are a crucial element for any team in the modern era Liverpool have one of the best right backs in the league Nathaniel Clyne who only recently joined from Southampton for a fee around £12 million the full backs crossing it sublime the same is to be said about young Spanish full back Alberto Moreno the under 21s international has a great future ahead of him both however are very small and are easily beaten in the air their great attacking play can also be viewed as a negative as both love to bomb up the pitch which then leaves massive holes in the defense a more defensive minded full back is Jose Enrique the Liverpool Veteran is a more well rounded player good in the tackle and decent in the air many fans still believe his time has passed and want a new young energetic full back at the club. Jon Flanagan is another decent full back a fan favorite who is always willing to give his all for the red shirt who is currently out for 6 to 7 months with a damaged knee cap, this then leads Liverpool light in the right back department and in need of backup.

Midfielders

Jordan Henderson Coutinho
Roberto Firmino
Emre Can

Liverpool's strongest position on the pitch is defiantly the midfield from the work horses Henderson and Milner to the skill and flair of the Brazilian duo Firmino and Coutinho the midfield connects the defense and attack seamlessly through neat and skillful inter play and passing. The core of the midfield is Jordan Henderson the Liverpool captain and England star operates all over the pitch winning the ball high up the pitch launching counter attacks, or retrieving it deep and starting an attack, all good things go through Henderson. The same could be said about Liverpool's little magician Coutinho the former Inter Milan player has become an integral part to Liverpool and become a world class player in the process. The experience of Lucas Leiva and ambition/skill of Emre Can are key assets to Liverpool as they provide extra cover for the defense, many fans believe Lucas should go and Can should continue were Lucas finished as they feel Can is ready to take that leap and become a key player for a Champions League chasing side we are yet to see what Klopp will do with this extremely talented midfield.

Strikers

Daniel Sturridge
Christian Benteke
Danny Ings

Liverpool have a wide range of world class strikers at their disposal first of all Daniel Sturridge who has been a revelation after leaving Chelsea in January 2013 and forming an unstoppable partnership with now Barcelona striker Luis Suárez in the 2013/14 season which nearly guided Liverpool to a league title, however Sturridge has been hampered with injuries and is currently out for 3-4 months to fill his big boots is Belgium striker Christian Benteke a recent £32 million pound transfer from relegation threatned Aston Villa. Benteke has a history of being a good goal scored even in a poor Aston villa side in 14/15 he scored 15 goals in all competitions however Benteke is also injury prone and can not be relied on all season. Next are the hot prospects Divock Origi who to continue his development has been loaned out to Swansea, this then leaves one other striker the energetic forward Danny Ings; Ings has pace and power in abundance we will just have to wait and see if he can quickly adapt to the new surroundings and live up to his big potential!

Defensive duo depart Anfield

Season veteran Kolo Toure has left Liverpool to join newly promoted Bournemouth for an estimated fee of £800,000 Kolo is said to of forced the move as he didn't see that he had a future with new manager Jürgen Klopp and he wanted a new challenge. Toure had a mixed spell with Liverpool after joining them on a free from Manchester City. The Spanish full back Jose Enrique has also left the club and joined his former club Vilarreal for a fee of £2.5 million the full back didn't believe he was guaranteed first team football so he decided to leave to guarantee first team football.

Arias joins Liverpool in £4.5 million move

Arias (Right) battles with former PSV teammate Memphis Depay

Arias a hot prospect from Dutch side PSV has joined Liverpool in a £4.5 million pound deal, close reports to him said he had his heart set on a move to Anfield and he wants to guide the club to domestic victory, Arias is viewed as a backup to Liverpool's other right back England international Nathaniel Clyne. Arias said 'It is such a privilege to join such a prestigious club and I hope I can aid this club to get to the next level and to become a big European force once again.' This transfer then questions the future of Jon Flannagan who is currently out due to a long term injury.
Nice signing in Arias mate, and well done for getting Enrique off the wage bill!

Season expectations

The Liverpool board believe Klopp should reach the first knockout round of the Europa League, finish 4th or higher (getting a Champions League spot) and to reach the semi finals of the FA Cup, with Liverpool's strong squad Champions League should be capable with new players which will then improve the squad will then bolster Liverpool's chances even more, Europa League will be difficult there is a hole host of strong teams ranging from Borussia Dortmund to Tottenham Hotspurs, it will be no easy task to win.

Enrique has been a pain for years! I just hope Liverpool get rid of him as soon as possible in real life.
Yeah likewise, it's a shame because he used to be a good player!

Liverpool dealt tough first fixtures

Liverpool has been dealt a couple of tricky fixtures in the first five games of the 2015/16 season first they have Leicester City, even though they nearly got relegated last season they have such stars as Riyhad Mahrez and England's new star striker Jamie Vardy, their defence is also solid as they have such seasoned players as ex Stoke player Robert Huth and their captain Wes Morgan. Next Liverpool are away at the Etihad and up against mega rich Manchester City they have such world class players like Aguero Silva and of course the former Liverpool man Raheem Sterling, this will definitely be a interesting game because of that factor alone. After that Liverpool face Tony Pulis and his West Brom side a team, a team infamous for their defensive tactics and behemoths of players like the big Sweed Jonas Olsson this will be a difficult task and we will have to wait and see if Liverpool can break down a team effectively when they defend in numbers. Then Liverpool face Chelsea a fierce rival over the years and with the power and of Anfield it will be a tight match between two even sides. Liverpool then travel north up to face Newcastle at Saint James Park with former Liverpool boss Rafa Bentiez at the helm of an exciting Newcastle squad with some great new players like Georginio Wijnaldum this will be a close game.
