so, new year and the transfer windows open. what transfers do you think will happen?

ill start us off, jermaine beckford will probably go to newcastle, and how much i hate to say it i would like it if he went.

villa i dont think will go to chelsea probably a spanish club.
I'll talk about my team, Olympiacos (yea, I'm Greek :p)

Lua Lua signed already a six months contract with an option to renew for 2 more years if everything goes well. His match fitness is way poor, and he'll probably need a solid month to become match fit. But he's a fans favourite since the last time he was part of the team and I'm quite certain he'll prove a valuable solution for the forthcoming 2nd round of the league.

The speculations about acquiring Ben Arfa seem a bit fake to me. I'm not even sure I want him on my team, because of his character... but it's true he's a decent left winger (and attacking midfielder in general) at a decent age. 8-10M seem too much for Olympiacos, but we got enough money from getting through the group stage of Champions League.

There are also some rumours regarding an old favourite... Nery Castillo who failed completely with Shakhtar and Man City on loan. He surely wants to return, but I don't think Olympiacos is willing to make a move if he doesn't become available on a free.

I reckon the same applies to Jovanovic... they'd like to approach him for a summer transfer, so they won't have to pay any fees to Standard. Though, I'd really want him on board this January for a small fee. He repeatedly said he wants to join, but Milan is lurking around the corner as well; I won't be surprised to see him joining the rossoneri.
is that lua lua who used to play for newcastle? brings back good times
Here's to hoping that Man City does something to shore up the back line.
but who could they get? theyve got good players that arent performing and im sure they wouldnt like 100,000 pounds a week players on the bench winging and moaning
Chielini has been linked to City and United
Stam I am really sad to say this but I think this is the whole greek philosophy about transfers here, Kokkalis wants and gets only players who cherish to play in Olympiakos and will pay for that, well Ben Arfa will not pay to come to the Port, so, it is all about fussy in the press!
Lua Lua is the man who was back in Newcastle and I think he has his little brother there!
BTW City really sucks! Even if they got all the stars in the planet they will never make a great team cause they are losers, besides don't forget the whole bunch of players they got are all "losers" and sent away from their teams!
I am one of the very few people that follows Wigan Athletic, and unfortunately we are going to need something very very very special to be pulled out of the hat to help secure our future in the premier league. A consistent CB would be nice along with a rock in CM would also be very nice along with a solid 6ft plus striker to partner Hugo up top!! But as father christmas was unable to provide me with these signings for christmas i am very doubtful as to Wigan staying as a top flight side!!!!
i think wigan will stay up cos lets face it pompy are doomed and hull are nearly, west ham is gonna be hard, bolton, burnley, theres alot worse teams in the premier league
tkmax try to get some loan players if you don't have enough money to buy, that was my promotion plan with Newcastle, try get Kryvtsov from MetalurgZp he is a top class player even if he starts at 18 yro he is playing dc,dr,dm,mc and of course get wilshere from arsenal on loan he can play mr,amr,ml,aml,mc,amc!
as usual i post stuff about city so here it goes

city to sign maicon and chiellini (spelling) and hope fully to sign David Villa in the summer city are looking for a new cb since toure has left for the african cup of nations and they are looking for a rb for some reason coz we dont have very good ones
well villa is meant to be going to chelsea for £40m
and chiellini has said he is going nowhere
To be honest Chelsea could do with some new youger players, flex their cash while they have a chance. Marek Hamsik to fill in for the ageing Deco and Ballack (although Ballack is still pretty good) and Aguero for Drogba (I keep forgetting he's 31).

As for my team Liverpool, I have no idea what will happen at all.

There used to be talk of us signing Carlton Cole, Simon Kjaer, David Silva etc but thats gone right out the window.

Now its more like James Bettie, Heskey, Matthew Upson, Elero Eljia. And with the exception of perhaps Eljia, I dont know if any of them are good enough. Were being linked with players far below the standard we need to achieve our aims.

Dossena needs to go, I dont care about Babel but if he stays of his own free will he needs to perform or he'll be gone by summer. Voronin is terrible, not even Premier League level and as such should go.
from my spurs point of view

i think we should rid ourselves then mainly gain of deadwood

pavychenko, bently and hutton

for pple coming in? maybe a left winger to give us another option then krancar (martin petrov possibly?) and i hate to say it a CB becuase from wat i hrd woodgate is pretty much screwed as king is now with his injury

but on a side note dawson and bassong have stepped up to the plate brillantly, i just think they need cover now and not be cover
krancar will probably make a good pair with modric huh :beer
