Marcel Schmid - I missed the first 2 friendlies, so decided to let my assistant René Aufhauser take them.
It went pretty well in the cup! We completely dominatied from start to finish, we are ready for the tough opening fixture in the league.




Marcel Schmid - What a way to start the season! I thought we played well throughout and where unlucky with the pen, but the belief the team showed to win that late on is fantastic. I'm very happy with how it went.

Marcel Schmid - A near perfect month for us, it is a shame it ended in a draw but we have to look at the positives. 4 clean sheets 10 goals and 13 points.

• I think at this early stage i'm not to disheartened by close games, of course we want to win by a few goals every week but that just isn't possible. I'm very happy with how the team has started the season.

• Everyone is glad now the transfer window has closed becuase we can concentrate on what is important.

• I can't believe I have been here for nearly two months. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome :)

It's going very well

The board signed Pokorny and Inal as I am allowing them to sign youngsters.

I made 2 signings this window. Ljubicic was found on the final day from my scouting team and he looks very good.





For my tactic I needed a winger who could play both sides well, so Gümüş was the man. Pretty expensive for this league. According to Transfermarkt he could rise to the most expensive signing in the club’s history beating Munas Dabbur and Braut Haland €5m.




With what I’m trying to do for this club I expect to continue to spend well and maybe break the €10m soon.

A good start in the league. Hopefully the boards investment in the two young players will prove to be worthwhile and come to fruition. Those are huge fees, at this moment in time.

They are, but we will be moving some players on for big fees in the near future no doubt

The top 4 players left before I took charge. It’s a shame that Wolf and Dabbur moved on but that is the nature of today's market it's inevitable. Dabbur did earn that move and we all know what Leipzig do to Salzburg ☹ "Not part of the same ownership or something" YEAH RIGHT!!!

A lot of loans! Looking at it I thought we were Chelsea for a bit, but I definitely picked the right team. Austria and Rapid Wien fans hate this club, but they have to live with the fact that the players they loan from us are their best. Although it is like Liverpool loaning a player to Manchester United. Feels wrong.

LASK Linz managed to raise the funds to make sign Atanga. Surely a record signing for them.
Honsak looks a good player, but I want him playing games.



Takumi Minamino is a stand out player, but he got angry at something, so I shipped him out for the season. We have enough quality so I’m not going to stand for any bad mouthing!

I may well let the board deal with the loans next season because there are many many players. But I’m excited to see which ones develop and can break into the team next season.

Huge fees recouped, but Wolf and Dabbur will be big misses. I'm familiar with Minamino and to see him loaned out to Rapid is a surprise, I expected someone in Germany - for example - may have been interested.

I was quite happy to let him go to a team in this league to see how he performs, they pay all his wages too.
