I was reading
this article recently on the BBC and it has been reported than Wayne Rooney "will not sign a new Man Utd deal". Personally I think if he does leave the impact on the club will be similiar to that of Ronaldo, although Ronaldo was not off-form when he left, he just wanted to play for Madrid.
Anyone else got thoughts on this?

when things not going the way for Man United on the pitch, the press start talking loads of shit this has been going on for years. also didnt he sign a new contract like last year or something a contract until likke 2015?. so its just media BS.

I know its only rumours, but there are similiar signs to what happened with Ruud van Nistlerooy for example. Wayne's contract expires in 2012 btw.
If his contract is close to expiration though, I think Fergie will consider selling Wayne rather than losing him on a free.

and also i was listening to TALKSPORT on the way home from work and they reckon man city would offer 500k a week.......... obviously this is just rumors i have heard from the media nothing set in stone yet

Seriously who wouldnt want to earn 500k a week. After a year you got 24million so it just job of my dreams if i could earn like that and probobly every person in the world.
And I dont think Rooney will leave United but at least now.

Would certainly be interesting to have a pair of former United strikers leading our attack, especially come derby time.
untill a few weeks ago this would have scared me but not to worriedc actualy he has been realy out of sorts lately and if he does go you can be sure fergie will get soemone in the whole team needs it i think a big change in january its almost slightly like liverpool were relying on him to much after last season it was a one off take benzema from real and maybe rossi if there is a buy back clause in his deal would give us options and a lift for the squad and we would still be money up

no, thing with Ruud was that he and ronaldo had a bit of non-friendly rant between themselves. Ruud apparently called ronaldo a baby or something. and unfortunately with Ruud also having some injuries and such. fergie decided it was time to go for him.

lol at Red going this is media BS, I tought so too, but he has been disalusioned recently, personaly I would say sell him in january for 30-40 mill then with that money buy someone who sir alex admires to fill the gap. But there is an awful lot of time between now and the january transfer window, he could change his mind which is open to sir alex. He also has the option to buy out his contract at the end of the season for £5 mill, however he won't do that as he wants to play.
If he does leave, then we have the people to cover imo, wellbeck, diouf, berbatov, owen, hernandez, bebe, macheda the majority of those will all be better players as time progresses, and with an extra player added I can't see why it would harm united so much.
