Welcome to the American way of sports. :( Players wanting their contracts changed before they've run their course.
Hopefully a more efficent system than the bosman ruling as it is clearly a flawed system, maybe a new President instead of platini?

He is staying - [link] I thought we was off. Well this will be interesting.
Best solution i think...
Let's hope we get the old rooney back...

I dont see him playing in another shirt to, especially not in england!
When you look at this the future does not look that bad - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9117997.stm How many clubs have that many youth players coming through? Lots of potential....
isn't anyone thinking that football should get agents out of the game? imo i think younger players like under20 should be able to have an agent, but only a family member. no outside agents fucking hate them.

also Rooney still didn't do his best here, could have easily kept this type of thing behind the scenes. Rooney will only redeem himself he plays out his career at united and does great imo.
yh I agree with you red but this could turn into something good for United and the fans. I heard that the reason for this ´soap´ was because Rooney didn´t feel United were going to be signing any big players. BUT now that he has signed a new contract I take it that Sir Alex and David Gill have promised to make at least one big transfer in january, otherwise it wouldn´t make any sense for the sudden change of heart from Rooney.
Just my thoughts ... ;)

As for the agents, I think it would be very hard to remove them from the footballing world. I mean, imagine you as a younster getting signed by a big club you wouldn´t know what salary you would ask and clubs would probably take advantage of that. And I take it that if you´re going to earn money somewhere you want to get the best you can out of the deal.
agents are usefull for players.

if you are an average player and you get terminated from you're current club, what do you do? knock on the doors of other clubs begging to get a contract? NO. you need an agent that can give you options for you're future. i agree that many agents are scum, but they have to do their jobs, otherwise no player will ever sign for them.
rooney dont deserve a contract for the way he acted! pleased am not a man u fan!
