# gambino :

mate no striker scores that many goals without help from a program like FMRTE or

... messi, ronaldo, lol ive seen them score 60 plus on numerous saves, lukaku netted about 20 hatricks in his 30s in one of my games. simply look at caca stats, thats why he is so good.
20 hattricks thats 60 goals in 20 games so your saying he scored an average 3 goals per game and since he probably had a 50 game season that at least about 100 goals WTF!!

messi and ronaldo play on the wings on my saves not at the clubs i manage but i track them perhaps on your saves the play as a centre forward i don't know. I know it is possible to get to 60 goals a season i have done it with hernandez. messi and ronaldo are a lot better than him so if they played in his postion they would have reached that stat but 80 goals is a little bit to far even for them keep in mind they have better stats the caca when they were in their prime

but as i said am waiting for joannes comment and him to show me his tactic so i can try it out. If i get positive results i will come back and apologize

Also leyson17 I would like to get some screen shots of these stats you have mentioned if you would not mind
If you want to see his tactics go to his lower league guide...tells all there.
lower league???

i knew he most have been using a tactic that would have been enough to get him through blue square till the epl but he still uses that. and it is that good that caca scores that much.

need to check that out ASAP and could you tell me what teams in the top flight it is good for
I do play top english teams, dont see it as much of a challenge, but maybe others could tell you different.
Oh wow, I step away from my story for a while and a controversy breaks out! I'm a little surprised that it's taken this long, to be honest. I stopped playing my game for a while and I've been off and on with interest lately. When I look at my starting lineup I find myself a little starstruck with the players in the starting eleven. The funny thing is, and I've mentioned it before, is that Caca isn't even the best striker for Brazil. He's not the best striker in the game (Arsenal? have a Spanish striker that I've posted). And at his age he won't be the best striker for too much longer on the team.

Marcel Hasselbaink is coming into his own and looks like he is gearing up for what is inevitable - the eventual decline of Caca. I've also brought back Mark Phillips after he left me - on a free, no less! - for Barca. I rejoiced when Caca agreed to join me because he replaced another striker that I had lost on a free - Peter Stochl.

Let's bottom line this a bit. I don't cheat. I've logged over 30 days of game time into one save because I've put together a world-class team. I've used FMRTE once - back in FM11 when I tried to modify the South American team I was playing because it had crazy restrictions. I can barely get around FMRTE. I haven't used Genie Scout since FM09. I've wasted vast amounts of transfer money on players that don't work out. Does that sound like the work of any kind of program? For all the stars I have on the team, I relish each and every one of them because I've unearthed them the only way I know how - with a dearth of 20/20 ca/pa scouts, a set of training schedules (in my LOL guide) that I've had in place since day one, top training facilities that I've haggled over with the board for years to attain, and a blossoming youth recruiting network that I'm just now able to start improving. I didn't mention coaches because you know what? I don't have a single 5 star coach! Let Stam attest to our conversations of how his team is light years ahead of mine in terms of coaching staff. :)

Looking back at the comment about how I must have modified Caca when he was 15... I laugh a bit because I haven't the slightest clue on how to do that. Truth be told, when I read the forums and see people talking about CA/PA values and how 190 or -something is the best, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. The only CA/PA I know is the current/potential ratings that my scouts have.

And regarding my tactics, it's been mentioned that I have it all laid out in my guide. I've been using the same boring 442 formation since FM10. I used the listed player roles and what not until recently, when I started playing very aggressively up front and very defensively with the back line. Do I think they are awesome? They are for me. I don't advertise them because I've learned one big thing when it comes to tactics - your silver bullet won't work in someone else's gun. When I took the England job I immediately installed my 442. I've been winning, but I've been struggling to put the right pieces together on the pitch to carry out those tactics. The reason I've had so much success with this save is because my tactic is something that I've pieced together since FM10. And as I built my team around it, you have the story that you read here. No edits, no scout program, no nothing. I even had someone suggest once that Caca's inflated goalscoring is due to me reloading games until he scores a bunch. Again, let's bottom line it. I have two young kids, a wife, a dog, a full time job, and countless other interests beyond FM. I rarely have free time to play the game. Do you honestly think I have time to play the same match more than once? :) When I set out to write this story I wanted to give the community a good read. I wouldn't dare taint that experience by cheating along the way.
this reply does get things straight i also got in contact with friend on the fm base website he told me that it is quite possible to have a striker score that many goals in a season as his has scored up to 90. I trust this guy as i know him for a long time he would not start lying now.

he continued to explain that it is not just the strikers personal ability that helps that goal scoring but also how the tactic and how it is best implemented to get the best out of the striker. Like i did with you i asked him for his tactic yet to be replied with an 'LOOOL' he said he does not stick to one tactic and consistently changes to get the best out of the team he has at his disposal, to best help the main striker score the most goals he said thats how he got one regen to score that much (90 goals in a season!! crazy i know)

mind you he told me he acheived this feet in the year 2028 and constant change in formation to best suit the team.

he told me that he believes that you are not cheating and that it is possible but just hard to achieve.

so i apologize for calling you a cheater and appreciate you replying to my issue

Great story man but i have got a question what keeps you playing because i always want to start a new game?
I made an account to say these two things.

1. This is a fantastic story and I have been following it for a long time. Your achievements in such few years are amazing.

2. gambino. You know nothing about FM. At all.

Apology accepted, although none was really needed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. :)
# connodd : Great story man but i have got a question what keeps you playing because i always want to start a new game?

I think it's mainly my obssessive-compulsiveness. I put a lot of time into just setting up the basics, such as training schedules, set piece instructions, player and roster plans, etc. And that's all before I even play my first game! So once I get started, I tend to keep myself going because of the amount of time I put into the game. Then it kind of snowballs from there and before you know it I have an avalanche on my hands.

Thank you, and welcome to fmscout! I hope you stay a while. :) You guys are a big part of what inspires me to keep simming and writing.

being in his 30`s lukaku was playing down the leagues for leeds in the npower championship, so yes played about a 80 plus game season and so 100 goals is quite reasonable taking into account the fa cup, the league cup, the johnstens paint trophy and the 48 game season etc lol he obviously didnt score in every game though would he, players have barren patches against better teams etc, but when they score one there morale shoots up and so a hattrick can then follow. I only used this example as it shows how a player that much better than the ones around can score so many goals, like caca for newport.

and yes, ronaldo and messi tend to become second strikers in the games ive played.

im not trying to cause agro here, im just saying that its possible without an editor.

and no sorry i dont have any screen shots, i never make stories on this site so ive never learnt to take them, i will in future :] but it looks like this has been sorted now anyway, id just hate for the effort that has been put into this newport career to be spoilt and tarnished by suggestions of cheating :[
joannes3000 I think this storys great and have read it for a long time before i became a memeber of the site. I recently feel however that your descriptive writing on each season has turned in to somewhat, lets say unpassionate writing? Correct me if im wrong because i do really like your writing i just get this gut feeling that you are getting bored of this story. I was also wondering are you working on updating this story soon because it has been along time since you have wrote about it and im starting to miss it as i feel it is the only good story on this site. ;) I would like to congratulate you however on how well you have done with newport. I did start a manager career a while back with altrincham who in real life have just been relegated from newport countys league and i got straight promotions to league one and then gave up so i just dont understand how you keep going.

Thanks for posting this story i hope you carry it on.

Thank you for reading the story! You are correct in your observation to an extent. I'm still very much into my save game as I push for the #1 spot in the Hall Of Fame, but beyond that I can feel the window closing with FM12's release getting closer and closer. That said, it makes it even tougher to write because my quick-natured approach to games at this point will certainly translate to anything I write. I'd rather not write anything instead of write junk. :) I'll probably go back to posting just the season-ending updates for the foreseeable future. Speaking of junk, I highly appreciate your comment about my story but there are lots of quality story writers on fmscout!
