We are now in the 10th season of Ryntih. For the first time we are in Continental Football and I completed the Continental A License at the end of the previous season. So it was time to go the distance and ask for the Continental Pro License.
We have a transfer budget of 40m and a wage budget of 6.5m per month. With the reductions in squad size we have got our wage bill down to 5.1m at the end of season 9. We have managed to convince the board to get the training facilities up and it costs us 55m. This means our finances are down to 1m and we are in net debt of 16m at the moment. This is a big moment in this journey, we need to decide whether to push for glory and risk financial ruin or keep the steady growth that we have managed over the past 9 seasons. Thankfully the ISL stayed at 21st Place, meaning our TV revenue is intact at 87m.
We made only a couple of transfers, Pramod Saha has been a regular in the league and with a relegation release clause of 2.5m, we swooped on him. He provides crucial cover for Mamod and can play in the midfield too. The 2nd name in the list is Mendes, whom we lost to a free transfer in our first season in ISL. Bringing him back at 4m is expensive but I like to bring the boy back home where he belongs.
On transfer deadline day I managed to sign Mohammed Singh, a player in our radar since June and at 6m he is one of our most expensive signings. The media now predicts us to finish 2nd with 3-1 to win the league.
It was a busy start to the season with us losing 1-2 to Churchill Brothers. We had our group fixtures in the AFC Confederations cup which we finished 2nd with 14 points of 6 games. We were unbeaten in the group but Bengaluru finished top on goal difference and we were knocked out.
