A strong first season from you, with a 5th placed finish being quite the achievement for you considering the board expectation was to 'avoid finishing bottom of the league'. You can take a lot of pride from that, and with a few signings: who knows what the future holds!?

There's a big off-season ahead for you, and I look forward to seeing who you bring in.
Building the club in season 2:
At the beginning of season 2, the board has given us a wage budget of 1.4m per month. Now that is a good budget though we know from season 1 its unsustainable at this level. We are 9m in the red and we will only slide downward as there is no money at this level.
Now we have all our players on Non-Contract deals and that makes it easier to manage the wage bill. 4 players went out in the transfer window to bigger clubs and our replacements are at par with slightly cheaper contracts. We began the season with a 20 member squad, a wage bill of 720k/m and a media prediction of 11th place with 15-1 to win the league.
We have got our National B license before the first game of the season.

The first few months in the league was once again steady with form being hot and cold but by the end of November we were in 4th place with 26 points from 14 games. A 0-1 loss to 2nd place Aizawl FC showed we are not yet ready for the promotion push and as usual our 2nd half blues caught us as we didnt win a single game in January or February, going on a 11 game run without a win. Finally we came back in mid march with a 0-3 win vs 20th place Hyderabad B.
The youth intake was decent with 3 players given contracts though its unlikely they will ever make it to the first team. I might have rethink youth as its costing decent money and we might have to drop it till we reach higher leagues.
We finished the season in 9th place with 56 points

It's a shame to see you drop from 5th to 9th within a year, and hopefully any recruits you make this off-season can help you (potentially) have a proper crack at getting promoted. It's going to be tricky, but you're being responsible with the club's finances, rather than taking shortcuts: something that should be commended.

Fingers crossed for you mate!
2022-11-12 13:39#290169 iamslowdeath : Becoming the Editor Guy
Today morning I decided to actually give the editor a go, watched a few videos and we went working with it.
Boy, its been a crazy ride!

Changes made:
1. ISL now has the teams, the league stage and the championship playoffs
2. Prize money is sorted out correctly for the ISL, though I could only give money to the playoff winner. So the prize money in the league was adjusted so the total prize pool remains correct.
3. ISL TV money, I League Travel Subsidy and Matchday Subsidy (for both divisions) have been added as TV money for the leagues. For ISL 150m INR, I League 6.5m INR and I League 2nd Division is 1.9m INR.
4. Prize money for winning games in I league and I league 2nd division which is 50k and 25k respectively.
5. Transfer window correctly added for India.
6. Indian Super Cup, Indian Durand Cup added correctly with the prize money pool of 9m INR and 6m INR respectively. Super Cup gives continental football.
7. Added U23 and U19 leagues.

I had a similar idea to do a Build the Nation Save in India.

But due to the missing file so far, this idea is on the back burner, now I found your save and saw that you made a file yourself, is it possible to share your good work?

If so, that would be great and thank you in advance. If not, I'll have to keep waiting for a good India file. ^^

Anyway good luck and have fun with your save.
@J_ames Yes, thats how I like to play the game. Finances are a crucial part of any club and I as a manager dont find it realistic if I dont care about the finances.

@thewes I am happy to share the file, but i am unable to find how to attach files to the post. If you know please tell me.

It's also possible that you send it to Stam here and he puts it directly on FMScout.

Thank you for wanting to share your file.

If u are happy to use the editor I would suggest to the following edits:
1. Reduce reputation of ISL to 75. I put it as 85 but 3 seasons down I see the reputation dropping. So 75 seems more like the correct reputation.
2. Increase the I League 2nd Div TV to 3.5m INR per year. I missed the travel subsidy that is available to I League 2nd div teams as well
3. Add league table sorting rules.

Season 3:
The board has cut our wage bill in half to 725k/m. This will make things a lot harder for sure. The club has shown ambition though and is building a new stadium with a cost of 42.5m. This gives us a bank loan burden of 24m.

Finances beginning of season 3:

A new stadium sponsorship worth 1.15m/yr has been signed bringing our sponsorship total to 1.69m/yr
Over the summer we managed to get 5 players as well as free loan form Odisha. Overall our wage bill was 736k/m and the season preview putting us at 9th with 17-2 to win the league.

We managed to have a good first half and were 4th place by end of November. It was extremely important to be proactive so I tried to keep everyone on their toes with praising/criticism to avoid the slipups that have happened in the past. This kind of paid off as we managed to keep our form raising us to 2nd place in the league with 46 points of 23 games by end of January.
A major injury scare with Remi out for 7 months at the beginning of February caused a lot of panic. We managed to keep hanging on and at the end of March we were 6th place with 62 points from 32 games. With just 2 points separating the positions 2-6, this was still anybody's game.
A 3-1 loss to Kashmir broke our hopes and this is going to be another season of promise but no major progress. We finished the season in 6th place. An improvement from last season's 9th but how I push the club to promotion seems to be seen.

Climbing up the table after what was a disappointing year previously is [at least] a sign of progress. It's now time for the club to "release the shackles" and find 2-3 players that will truly take them to the next level. I agree with you that the youth set-up isn't worth investing in India early on, but once you find the financial stability (and reserves in your balance) it's something that you can invest heavily in.

I'm hoping for a promotion in season 4!
@J_ames thanks for your kind words. This support is amazing and is helping me keep motivated for the save
At the beginning of season 4, all the money in the Indian leagues went down by 20%. Looks like the reputation of the ISL is down to 14th from 11th. More misery in what is already a miserable situation for us.
We are down to 17 players and unable to offer contracts as anyone we want to sign is asking for money we cant give.
A transfer embargo as a board takeover meant we couldnt do much business initially. The board took out another 19m in Bank loans to help finance the club. So the current debt at Ryntih is 42m.

We managed to add 3 more players cheap and with the wage bill maxed out 735k/m we have have a media prediction for the season of 9th with 10-1 to win the league.

We didn't start of the league well with us picking only 11 points in the first 9 games but form picked up nicely as we entered October with a brilliant 1-0 win in the Super Cup against I league side Churchill Brothers. We lost just 1 in the next 13 games in the league and a Super Cup 3rd Round over North Eastern FC saw us reach the Super Cup Quarter Finals for the first time in our history.
What a quarterfinal we had folks! 1-1 after 120 minutes and then we won 13-12 on penalties. Wild scenes at the club!

The emotional rollercoaster of this game has left me drained. I am taking it slow the next couple of days so expect shorter updates
I guess both teams had been practicing their penalties in the lead-up to the game! FM sure does love to throw in a crazy penalty shootout every now and then, and it's always a great feeling to be on the right side of it!

It's a shame to see the club's struggling financially, and it only makes your job harder to get the club to where your efforts deserve it to be. You'll get there, and when you do: I'm sure you'll keep the club up. Keep up the good work mate :)
A difficult start to life, especially with the database. Nice work on managing to fix it (as it seems) and being able to play the save anyway! I really like the idea of building a nation, trying it myself this year as well (but in Europe in the Welsh League), so interested to see how you do and how it all works!

Good luck!
