there is no fix, uninstall. my anti virus flags up when i download so makes me not trust what im downloading, considering they have been release new versions, all dont work so what am i downloading?????
I opened the program with admin rights and it worked. Simply right click, start as admin.
Facing the same error cant resolve it with anything said in here

Same issue, have tried every permutation of reinstalling, running as administrator, changing languages, save locations, restarting. Can't get any geniescout version working, same issue with 23, 23g, 24, 24g.

yep same for me too. Filled out the website form explaining the problem to them but no reply. Anyone know of any alternatives to Genie Scout?
I got the same error message last night - however my desktop had been on all day and also I had been playing FM for the majority. Restarted the machine and bingo no issues.

Greentrunk and others - Do you use Bitdefender at all? I took it off my PC ( swapped over to AVG ) and problem solved, no need to re-install genie scout or play with path directions or anythng else.
No idea what has happened but after Saturday evening genie scout could never find the game data, I went through everything without out success then thought maybe bitdefender, uninstalled it and...it worked for me

Why did they do any update on FM24 ?!?
They better should work on FM25 instead.
