# sun_chris : does anyone know if fm12 has the backroom advice feature..."the oposition srtuggle against team playing 4-4-2" "the oposition struggle against teams with reputation similar to ours"...etc.

i have the chance to play the full game for at least a week(stam sent me a download code so i can make a preview) but i have no idea where this feature is....it's been taken out from fm12?? i already scout the oposition but in backroom advice i can't find these advices
yes it does, but you'll only see it when you start playing matches! you'll find it in your team report
I'm playing the demo and as someone already noted, there are too many injuries. And it does not depend whether you play Man Utd or Plymouth. They have exaggerated with "realism" in that area of the game. Hope they will listen and fix that a little bit. SOON! :D
Other parts of the game are ok. I'm satisfied, especially with lots of details and data available. I'm comparison and statistics freak :D
Just finished my 6 month playing with Olympique Lyon and I really enjoy it and now I just can't wait until full version.
I haven't really played the demo yet, though I looked around a bit and have to say that despite the fact that the interface might be more useful, it certainly looks less 'slick' and 'clean' than the fm11 interface :/

The dark-skin looks much better on FM11 than in FM12, in my opinion. The FM12 dark isn't dark enough and just a grayish color that conflicts with the colour of the letters. It just doesn't feel nice to look at for me :/ I saw that in the preferences there were a lot of new options to customize the colours in your skin, but unfortunately not the base-background colour..

Furthermore, I am not fond of the new font :P The words and pieces of text look more "crowded" than in the fm11 version. So I hope they will release the option to change the letter type :)

Finally (might be more, but this is all I checked out so far), the tactics screen. Really SI? I understand that you want a lot of customization possibilities for the tactics but this is simply too much. In the screenshot below I indicated all the double buttons.. Especially, the "Club name" and "View Club" buttons annoy me the most. How can you not notice as a developer that they are RIGHT below each other and do EXACTLY the same?

I like the left bit (though would prefer it to the right of the formation part), though. The 'familiarity' bit that updates instantly after changing your tactic is a really useful feature!

PS. I know that it is possible to develop your own skin, so I hope someone will come with a 'better' dark skin :P otherwise I will have to teach myself how to make my own...
personally I like the new interface pretty much. I needed about 5 minutes to find what I was looking for again. I am playing this game since CM3 (1999) so I am really used to the "old" interface, but I really think that the new one is clearer. Question of point of view I guess.

anyway, I find that this version is pretty good, with some appreciable improvements (more talks with players, match view improvments, ...).

I just can't wait for the full version, I'd like the time to go faster until the 21st of october X-(
@ Zonnegod:

But findin the buttons everywhere, makes it a little bit more easy doesnt it? A fast click when your mouse is on the bottom or at the top! This is just voor lazy people, like moi!

Just ordered FM 2012 for € 28.95 (with 2 euro sendcost), release date on that site 20-11. Hope that the first FM update comes out soon too!

I agree that it makes it marginally more useful. But I think that, firstly, it is not beneficial for new players to learn the game as it might confuse them. Secondly, less buttons simply looks much better and people will usually just use one of the buttons anyway.. This is why letters generally don't appear twice on your keyboard and phone..

Maybe it would be interesting for SI to run some layout tests that involve test subjects to play the game and track which buttons they press most and develop their layout around these outcomes.
i hate it when you are going back you go page by page back, not just hopping from a player profile to the club squad. now you need to go back player information-history-information-profile then the club
so far so good

i agree with most about the interface but i think this is something i get use too very easily eventually, its the same with previous versions when thay have had massive changes and we complained, then got use to it etc etc.

the injury problems if i remember have been in every demo iv downloaded previously but it always fixed by the time game released or in the first patch

some of the new fetatures i really like is the quick view of player stats with the i next the name, saves endless clicking viewing stats of players

the team talk is really cool aswell
Wow, I thought you guys were exaggerating with the injuries and that it would just be some incidental cases. But now I tried playing fm2012 a bit for myself, I have reported an average of 2 injuries per match. And I am not talking about tiny injuries that wear off, but injuries so bad that they have to be taken off the field..
I hope this will be fixed in the full release! :)

tl;dr
Don't use early substitutions in fm2012; you will need them for the injuries in the second half...

i'm really lucky then, as i'm playing ajax, with 6 games + the supercup and i have 0 players injured...
If SI was trying to make injuries more realistic, they failed.
Having just completed the demo I must admit I'm looking forward to getting the full version of football manager 2012 when it comes out. I managed Villa for 6 months and was surprised to finish the demo in 5th place and only 5 points off the top of the table, I'm not sure whether the game is getting easier like others have said or whether I'm getting better at it... I prefer to think the latter.

The new player profile overview is awkward to get used to at first but like with many new things you quickly become familiar with it and I already like it far more than how it was before. An improvement I'd like to see on the player overview though is the ability to view the 3rd column box options in the 4th column.

Overall from the demo I find FM12 to be the best one yet, all the new additions are useful and improve the experience, my favourite addition being the new tone to conversations, team-talks and being able to see player reactions immediately. Fortunately I didn't encounter any ridiculous injury problems like others have mentioned and haven't encountered any real bugs either for a change.

Anyone else finished the demo, what do you think and what's your favourite new feature?
Gotta say that this is the best one yet! I've been playing since 01/02 and this is the best demo by far. The new interface is different but its easy to get used to and its the next step in the FM game franchise. The new tone player talks are great and actually makes you not mind doing personal talks. The news conference is still the same after 2 months and that is slightly disappointing as that part of the game has always been a bit tedious with the same old questions as is the half-time team talks, but we cant have everything! As for injuries, its no worse in this game than in previous. All in all I think this is one game I will be playing continuously just to see how good it really is. Bring on the full game on Friday!!
ryan babel has a worldwide rep.
that speaks for itself
