Champions League Semi Final Leg 2 – Liverpool A

4-2-3-1
Line Up - David de Gea, Kyle Walker, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidić, Jordi Alba, Paul Pogba, Oliver Norwood, Nano, Eden Hazard, Robbie Brady, Danny Welbeck
Subs Used - Mario Götze, Darren Fletcher, Fábio

An interesting game which I lost 5-2 but went through on away goals. United’s goals scored by Nani and Welbeck but my defence had trouble keeping Andy Carroll and Luis Suárez under wraps.

Barcelona also beat Arsenal 4-0 at the Camp Nou after a 0-0 draw in the first game. Lionel Messi was the man of the match with 2 goals. I now need to work out a way to stop him in the final.
Will you be posting your save game online so others can have a go at it, it would be much appreciated, also with you Champions League issue with Messi I might consider picking a fast defender to man mark him throughout the whole game, now to deal with Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Sanchez.......

League Game – Newcastle A

4-2-3-1
Line Up - David de Gea, Kyle Walker, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidić, Fábio, Paul Pogba, Ryan Giggs, Nani, Eden Hazard, Mario Götze, Javier Hernández
Subs Used – Tom Cleverley, Anderson, Danny Welbeck

Won the game 4-2. A comeback goal by Götze, an own goal by Danny Simpson, one from Hazard and a first of the season for Anderson. A good result.
League Game – Stoke H

4-2-3-1
Line Up - David de Gea, Kyle Walker, Jonny Evans, Nemanja Vidić, Fábio, Paul Pogba, Tom Cleverley, Nani, Eden Hazard, Mario Götze, Javier Hernández
Subs Used – Darren Fletcher, Ryan Giggs, Carlos Fierro

A good 4-0 will with goals by Evans, Pogba, Hernández and an own goal.

So final game of the season and the table looks like this –

City’s last game is against WIgan and Chelsea last game is against Birmingham so they will both probably get victories so I need to make sure that I beat Reading in the last game.
League Game – Reading A

4-2-3-1
Line Up - Anders Lindegaard, Rafael, Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans, Jordi Alba, Darren Fletcher, Anderson, Alvaro Vadillo, Ryan Giggs, Robbie Brady, Danny Welbeck
Subs Used – Michael Owen, Oliver Norwood, Ravel Morrison

Won the game 0-3 with two from Smalling and one from Anderson. This was also Giggs and Owen last League game. Unfortunately City also won and won the title.
Final League Table –

Hey Guys, great article Godman (but not great performance) ! I play with Tottenhan and 2 transfers changed everything for me after season 3. Maximiliano Moreno DM/MC Argentinian proud to say i found him by myself ... has a 3 min buyout clause and is unknown in world football. In 1 season he becomes world class mid. After signing him and Lamela i'm winning everything in a row. There is some way from good to great and this transfer is my recommendation to you to have a GREAT team.
Champions League Final – Barcelona – At Wembley

In preparation for the game against Barcelona I was thinking on how to stop Lionel Messi (one threat in David Villa would be out injured so no need to worry about him). My thinking was to play my 4-5-1 formation as I was hoping that my three CM (Anderson, Fletcher and Pogba) could stop the likes of Cesc Fàbregas, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi Hernández getting the ball to Messi as I have no players who could tackle Mess on their own. Then I received so good news (or bad news depending on how you look at it) that Messi had broke is leg and will be out for 5 months. On hearing this I decided to use my 4-2-3-1 formation and let my attacking midfield maestros (Eden Hazard and Mario Götze) take centre stage.

4-2-3-1
Line Up - David de Gea, Kyle Walker, Phil Jones, Nemanja Vidić, Fábio, Paul Pogba, Darren Fletcher, Nani, Eden Hazard, Mario Götze, Javier Hernández

Sub Bench - Anders Lindegaard, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Tom Cleverley, Ryan Giggs, Anderson, Danny Welbeck

I went for Pogba (Box-To-Box Midfielder - Support) and Fletcher (Ball Winning Midfielder – Defence) in the middle as these are my two defensive midfielders and I hoped that they would provide some support for my defence as my attacking threat would be provided by Nani (Winger), Hazard (Attacking Midfielder), Götze (Inside Forward) and Hernández (Advanced Forward)

Barcelona 4-3-3 (GK, DR, DC, DC, DL, DMC, MC, MC, AML, AMR, FC)
Line Up - Víctor Valdés, Carles Puyol, Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Marc Bartra, Javier Mascherano, Cesc Fàbregas, Andrés Iniesta, Alexis Sánchez, Pedro Rodríguez, Keirrison

Sub Bench - Thibaut Courtois, Cristian Tello, Thiago, Adriano, Xavi Hernández, Miguel*, Henrique

* A regan who had scored 72 goals in 48 starts for the Barcelona Under 19’s.

A repeat of the 2010–11 and the match started badly for United when Sánchez put Barcelona ahead in the 27 minute. United got back into it with a fine header from Götze after Puyol lost him in the box. Puyol then brought down Götze in the box after good work on the right by Nani and Götze scored from the spot.

So I went into half time in the lead and I was happy with how my team was playing but I decided to replace Pogba with Cleverley as Pogba was struggling to get into the game.

Sánchez then leveled things up in the second half just after the restart. I decided to replace Fletcher with Anderson (Deep Lying Playmaker – Defence) just after Barcelona scored as I was having trouble stopping Barcelona playing so I went with the idea of “can’t beat them join them” with Anderson and Cleverley in the middle making things tick. Then soon after Anderson scored. Iniesta then scored after the 78 minute to again level things up. So the game ended 3-3 and went into added time.

Puyol was at fault again when he scored an own goal after being pressured by Hernández. Then with only 3 minutes to go in the 2nd half of extra time Barcelona drew things level with Pedro scoring from a tight angle. With the match looking destined for penalties I took off Hernández and replaced him with Giggs. Then match then ended.

So the match ended 4-4 and down to the spot kicks and it went like this –

Xavi – Scored
Nani – Saved
Miguel- Scored
Anderson - Scored
Sánchez – Hit Post
Hazard - Scored
Mascherano - Scored
Fábio- Scored
Fàbregas - Scored
Giggs- Scored
Adriano - Missed
Götze- Scored

United had won the Champions League. It was a great match and I was very proud of the boys and how they performed. Overall I deserved the win as I had 58% of the possession and had 23 shots at goal compared to Barcelona’s 11. Plus my pass completion ration was 82% compared to Barcelona’s 73%. Revenge is sweat.
Great win against Barcelona, especially after those match stats quite impressive, congrats and hopefully next season will be sucessful aswell,
P.S. who was man of match

Mario Götze, two goals and the winning penalty :)
Other News – Giggs, Ferdinand and Owen have all now retired and I have offered all of them a coaching role with my youth players and all three accepted. I am very pleased to welcome them into my coaching set-up.
Seasons Stats -

This has been such an interesting read, do you think ravel will ever become a consistent first team player for you? Or do you think he will always remain a fringe player?
What happened to Ronney? Btw could you show me the development of these guys in the attributes page: Fabio, Rafael, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Javier Hernandez, Eden Hazard and Progba. I always have serious problems developing Fabio and Rafael in my game and always eventually sell them, Progba never develops even if I play him a lot, 15(10) games per season for him. Jones and Chris Smalling seem to stop developing in my games at around 22-24 just before thier stats develop into world class. As for Hernandez and Hazard I'm just curious.
