#43434 r_johnners : Just read you Revenge of the Bloods story which was incredible! I didn't think you could get a better story until I started reading this story! How come your stories are so amazing! Keep going mate

Thanks for the praise man!
If you sell a non-EU player to a club outside Italy, are you then allowed to sign one more non-EU player yourself? I seem to remember this was the case in some of the ealier editions of FM. Haven't played in Italy this time around though (partly because of that retarded rule).

I haven't thought of it, I'll check it out later, if it works you'll be my new BB
Where' ma' mojo at?

So a couple of months in we're yet to really find our rythem. We've been mixing some great displays with moments that really make me wonder if I made a mistake taking on this challange instead of developing Anderlecht further.

We're currently 6th in the leauge, but only two points separate us and 3d placed sensation Cesena (3d place being the last directticket to the CL grupstage).

The squad leaves much to ask but it should be enough to work with in order to clich that third place this season. I'm already in the process of picking my transfers for next summer (making those that can happen earlier happen earlier), primarily I'm looking at some wingers as they just don't offer the offensive support needed to put a long sequence of results togather. I'm also considering strengthening the defence even further as we've been letting the opposition through waaay to easy...

I'll give you a more detalied report when I've got time... until then, bon voyage!
Wrapping it up

I guess this post will be a bit more upset than it should. We just let a 2-0 lead slip in injurytime against Parma so needless to say the waterbottles were out flying in the lookerroom! Overall though the last couple of weeks has been really great. Before the Parma-game we were 6-1 during our last seven games surrendering only to the supreme Milan who showed us that there's alot to be done until we're in the titlerace. This year however is only about one thing and one thing only: landing the CL-spot. Atm we're sitting pretty comfortably in 3d place, 7p behind Sampdoria at 2nd and 7p ahead of Inter at 4th.

(I played a game while I was writing, that's why the standings our a bit off what I just said, but it's basicly the same scenario)

With seven games to go there's really only two worries on my mind. The first one is that only 3p separate the 6 teams behind us which means that if we do get cought red-handed druing the leaugesprint, we might not just lose out on our freeticket to the gruopstage, but the continental journey/money all togather! This however is a scenario I have no plans of finding myself in, the second worry is all the more presseing. To put it delicately, we're in a financial shithole right now! Despite the fact that I'm running the operation at 66% of my wagebudget and despite the fact that I've overall made the club €7mil in the transfermarket this year, we're losing ~€3mil/month. Right now our balance is at troubling -€8mil and I'm not sure how to turn this around other than getting the extra cash from CL. I've sold most of the overpaid deadwood and the rest will be gone until next year, but if things are as bad as they seem I don't know if it's enough, in which case we might be facing pointdeduction...

(The numbers are a bit off the €7mil I mentioned but that's because the board just provided a €4mil injection)

So basicly it seems as if things are going as planned. If we make it into CL next year we'll have an interesting summer ahead of us as the moneysituation will probably keep me from making any big signings, yet the increased status will allow us to find some gems... well, let's not get ahead of ourselves, first I have to make it there...

Until next time, bon voyage!
Part two - the masterplan

First and foremost we did our job and secured our spot in this years CL. We kept winning and in the end it was never really a competition for our 3d place.

As soon as this years goal (the CL-spot) was met, work and planning for the future began. Since I don't want to stay here forever I've decided to make the championship a twoyearproject. Partially due to the financial situation but also because I'm not really confident that the team is mature enough to take it all the way this upcoming season.

The first season will manily be about doing... well nothing! I'm trying to see if I can find a base in my younger players to build a championteam on. I'm getting rid of a butload of overpaid old folks and buying only a few young talents to fill the roster. This will not only get our finances in order but also show me exactly where I need to splash the cash next summer in order to complete step two. I'll place two goals for resluts, the first and most imporant step is to defend our CLspot, the second goal is to move on to the knockoutstages of CL, this is mostly in order to state our presence on the continent and gain some experince.

For the second season expectations will be notched up. For the first time though, focus will be on the leauge and not CL. I'd really love that Scudetto on my resumé and I figure I'll have better shots at the CLtrophy in the future. After completing the team with some topclass tranfers we should be able to meet this goals.

Here's the summary of this summers tranfers (there'll probably be a few more guys leaving but nothing worth mentioning):

really liking this story! i like it that your not staying at just one club :)
Laying the foundation

So after keeping the spending to a minimum, the selling to it's utmost without weakening the team and counting some extra cash from the CLplay I've managed to get the budget in balance. I've also cut down our weekly wagecost to €700k (the budget is set at €1,8mil).

And here's our CLgroup:

Hi,quality story! Could you post screenshots of the other top league tables from across Europe and the world please! Thanks
Awesome, entertaining as always. Looking forward to the next update, good luck Napoli!

It's kind of late, but congrats on the world class manager status, you totally deserved it!

thanks, though I can reveal that the start has been a huage disappointment!
The twist!

Guess none of us expected this...

I definetly think the dicision was harsh! We were off to a bad start with four straight losses, but came back strong with five straight wins... after this it was a couple of games on the rollercoaster winning some and losing some. When it finnaly happened we were in the middle of the table and on top of our CL-grup (after playing both games against City)... not that bad for a team under reconstruction... well no time to sulk, I made sure to land on my feet:

I'm not giving up that f***ing scudetto!
Haha! A twist indeed. I hope you show the Napoli board the blatant mistake they made. Goodluck with the Scudetto!
show those napolitan guys what you are made of!!
