I managed to win the manager of the month award again

As the January transfer window opens, i am on track to win the Premier League, if things continue as they are. Man Utd stand a good 14 points clear at the top of the table. So as things stand, i will probably not buy anyone in the January window.

Wow , complete annihilation!! I was worried when Man City scored first, but was pleased with the instant reply. And then came the onslaught. Man City couldnt cope. We passed the ball quickly, tore open their defence time and time again, and it was a game of sublime finishing. I just wish this could happen in real life too!!
Nice update man :)

very very nice game :)
Great day to be a United fan then! Congratulations on that one mate and also on the manager of the month award. Good luck man, keep it up

A decent game. Lots of shots on goal, but few clear cut chances which was disappointing. Hazard came on and made an instant impact, running at the defence at every opportunity. Once again Gotze was frustratingly poor. I really dont seem to be getting the best out of him. Any advice would be much much appreciated!!

A relatively easy win, without much resistance. Anderson put in a brilliant performance getting 2 assists and totally dominating the midfield area. I think with this performance, i may start him more often. Vrsaljko was brilliant too, making lots of attacking runs and providing a lot of assistance to Young.
English Premier League - 18 Jan 2012

Man Utd vs Arsenal (Away)

Formation: 4-4-2

Starting Line-up:
De Gea(GK)
Vrsaljko(WB) Ferdinand(CD) Vidic(CD) Evra(WB)

Created at least 3 clear cut chances, but failed to make more of them count. Yet a win at the Emirates is a good enough result for me, regardless of the score!
English Premier League - 21 Jan 2012

Man Utd vs Swansea(Home)

Formation: 4-4-2

Starting Line-up:
De Gea(GK)
Rafael(WB) Ferdinand(CD) Vidic(CD) Evra(WB)

Owen(AF) Rooney(CF)

Subs Used: Hernandez

FT: 1-0 Own Goal Romanchuk (82)

MOTM: Rafael (7.2)
Top performers: -

Terrible match. Total lack of creativity and hardly any chances were created. I gave Owen a run after his great midweek performance in the reserves match. But i fear he isnt good enough for the first team anymore.
English League Cup Semi Final (2nd Leg) - 25 Jan 2012

Man Utd vs Burnley (Away)

Formation: 4-4-2

Starting Line-up:
Lindegaard(GK)
Vrsaljko(WB) Ferdinand(CD) Jones(CD) Fabio(WB)
Valencia(WM) Felipe Anderson(AP) Anderson(CM) Young(WM)

FT: 3-0 Ferdinand (6), Felipe Anderson (31), Hernandez (90+1)

MOTM: Hernandez (8.1)
Top performers: Felipe Anderson (7.8), Valencia (7.8), Jones (7.5)

A relatively easy win. I was able to field a weaker team because of our strong first leg win. Ferdinand made a simple header from Valencia's corner to give us an early lead. After that it was plain sailing, without anything to worry us.
FA Cup Fourth Round - 28 Jan 2012

Man Utd vs Hull (Home)

Formation: 4-4-2

Starting Line-up:
Lindegaard(GK)
Smalling(WB) Vidic(CD) Jones(CD) Fabio(WB)
Nani(WM) Felipe Anderson(AP) Giggs(CM) Gotze(WM)
Hernandez(P) Welbeck(CF)

Subs Used: Hazard, Ferdinand, Fletcher

FT: 2-1 Welbeck(6), Red Card Smalling (28), Felipe Anderson (36), Cairney (57)

MOTM: Felipe Anderson (7.6)
Top performers: Welbeck (7.6)

Started of positively, with good movement of the ball, and Hull could'nt even get a foot in. Smalling was sent off, which was an extremely harsh decision. This didnt change the game much, but rendered Nani ineffective as he had little support. So i was forced to sub him off for Fletcher, who managed to get back well and provide cover for the defence. Gotze was once again unimpressive, and im beginning to lose my patience with him!
English Premier League - 31 Jan 2012

Man Utd vs Wolves (Away)

Formation: 4-4-2

Starting Line-up:
De Gea(GK)
Vrsaljko(WB) Vidic(CD) Ferdinand(CD) Evra(WB)
Valencia(WM) Hazard(AP) Fletcher(CM) Gotze(WM)
Rooney(AF) Cavani(AF)

Subs Used: -

FT: 5-1 Valencia (1, 71), Cavani (18), Rooney (22), Own Goal Gotze (45), Ferdinand (87)

MOTM: Valencia(9.6) (2 goals, 2 assists)
Top performers: Rooney (8.1), Cavani (8.1), Fletcher (8.1), Ferdinand (8), Hazard (7.8)

Sublime start, with Valencia literally waltzing though the opposition and sliding the ball past the keeper. After Cavani scored, Rooney scored a brilliant freekick from about 30 yards out, leaving the keeper with no chance. Gotze....things really aren't going his way at the moment, The own goal certainly was annoying, especially in a game where we should have kept a clean sheet. Nonetheless, the teams performance was great.
Very Enjoyable reading!

I see you sold Tom Cleverly. I play him wide left side of a 4-man midfield and he is impressive and scores goals regularly. Why did you decide to sell him? Does he not reach his potential?

Honestly, i just felt bad for him. I knew Gotze was a hot young prospect and i had planned for him to play on the left. So with Gotze, Nani, Giggs and Hazard all being able to play comfortably on the left, i dont think Cleverly would have had much of a chance. But worry not, he hasnt been sold. He is on loan to Sunderland, so hopefully he will come back and in the performances which you said he does.

What team do you normally field? Having a good season?
Season has been up and down. Had a few poor performances but im confident that i can still pip City to the league. Im currently 2nd - 2 points behind with 10 games to go

Im playing a 4-4-2, De Gea, Rafael, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Modric, Asamoah, Cleverly, Rooney, Chicharito.

I brought in Modric and Asamoah so strenghten the middle of the park but i also play Pogba as often as possible. Ive an agreeement in place to bring in Yaya Sanogo and Leandrao Damiao in the summer
