With the busy Christmas period well under way, I rotated a few players and they responded brilliantly. A good solid away win and a valuable three points.

Yaya Toure

It doesn't get much better than winning at Old Trafford. We've now done the double over our biggest rivals this season and we are in great form. The January transfer window opens in a couple of days.

First FA Cup game of the season and a good win. I didn't want to play to many second string players because I am taking the FA Cup seriously.
CLUB NEWS

Kolo Toure has served his ban and is now back in the first team squad.

We were 2 - 0 down after five minutes and had to change things around at half time. The second half was totally different and we nearly won. We still have a second leg to play at home so hopefully we can win there and progress to the final.

Manchester City 2 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

Subs Used - Johnson, Fellaini

David Silva

A brilliant result against one of our title rivals. Carlos Tevez was sent off after 60 minutes when it was still 0 - 0 so to score two goals with ten men was great. A fantastic performance and a great three points.

The eight league wins in a row has come to a grinding halt. We were bad today, the players just did not show up. That was our game in hand to go top and we blew it.

We are through to the Carling Cup Final! Say what you will about the competition but we are going to go all out to try and win it. The team played well and I'm delighted we are in the final. Everton will be our opponents.

We are through to the fifth round and we need to do our best to try and retain the trophy. The team did well and I was pleased that Alphonse Areola kept a clean sheet and Abdul Razak managed to score.
TRANSFER UPDATE

The January transfer window has now closed. I am delighted to announce the signing of Mamadou Sakho from PSG for £17,000,000. He will partner Vincent Kompany at the heart of our defense. That will leave Jan Vertonghen and Joleon Lescott as back up. Stefan Savic has joined Lazio on loan until the end of the season but I don't really see a place for him here next season.

We were also in advanced talks with Marek Hamsik of Napoli for £20,000,000 but he decided to join Arsenal. I hope that the current squad can now push on for the rest of the season and win the title and the FA Cup.
