Injury News – Danny Welbeck out for 9 – 11 days due to a thigh strain during training
Other News (Champions League) – In Group D, Barcelona and Man City through to the next round. Dortmund will play in Europa League while Shakhtar were 4th

I was expecting Dortmund to go through and it was a disappointing result as they did not won a single game. Two draws and four loses.
good story so far . is there any chance you put a screenshot of the premier league ladder .

jsut one question.. with the strength of your team why do u play on the counter ??

Line-Up: David De Gea, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Nemanja Vidic, Fabio, Antonio Valencia, Andre Ayew, Ryan Giggs, Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney, Federico Macheda

A warm reception given to Phil Jones who returned to his former club saw Man Utd winning the game 2-0.

Wayne Rooney got Man Utd off to a flying start by scoring in the 6th min and Federico Macheda rounded off the victory in the 88th min.

Man of the Match: Phil Jones

Thanks shaneo. As requested.

The reason for playing counter on away because to me it is always difficult to play away and especially when playing with great teams like Man City, Chelsea, Barcelona to name a few I need to defend my back. It’s not that I don’t trust the strength of my team but I just want to be more precaution. Another reason would be hopefully by using this counter tactics they can attack on the break.

Champions League Group Stage – S.L. Benfica (H)

Formation: 4-3-3

Line-Up: Anders Lindegaard, Rafael, Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Ashley Young, Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley, Will Keane, Javier Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov
Subs Used: Paul Pogba, Federico Macheda

An efficient performance by Man Utd players confidently beat Benfica 3-1.

Patrice Evra gave Man Utd the lead in the 15th min with a good header from far post. That was Evra’s first goal of the season. Javier Hernandez doubled Man Utd’s lead in the second-half.

Javier Saviola gave Benfica a glimmer hope when he pulled one back with a powerful effort in the 62nd min but Man Utd players ensures that they got all three points with Tom Cleverley completed the victory in the 81st min. That was also Cleverley first goal of the season.

Great victory putting Man Utd top of the champions league group table followed by LOSC Lille Metropole. Benfica despite their loss, through to Europa League and Maccabi Haifa remain fourth after losing all six games.

Man of the Match: Ashley Young
Other News (League Cup) – Man City out of the League Cup after losing to Portsmouth 3-2 in extra-time
Premier League – Newcastle United (H)

Formation: 4-3-3

Line-Up: David De Gea, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Fabio, Antonio Valencia, Tom Cleverley, Nani, Federico Macheda, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov
Subs Used: Darren Fletcher, Javier Hernandez

A very disappointing result as Man Utd were held 2-2 in front of their home crowd.

Both teams started well but it was Man Utd who were in front in the 17th min through Antonio Valencia powerful shot. Steven Taylor equalised for Newcastle in the 23rd min with a fine header. It was 1-1 at half-time.

In the second-half, David De Gea gave Newcastle the lead when he put the ball into his own net in the 70th min but Phil Jones denied Newcastle celebration when he headed home in the 73rd min from Valencia’s corner. The score remains 2-2 till full-time.

Lots of action but disappointed that they conceded two silly goals. They really need to step up in the next match against rival neighbours, Man City.

Man of the Match: Antonio Valencia

Playing on the counter break has always been in United's genes..
Premier League – Manchester City (A)

Formation: 4-3-3 (counter)

Line-Up: David De Gea, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Ashley Young, Darren Fletcher, Andre Ayew, Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck
Subs Used: Rafael, Park Ji-Sung, Nani

Man Utd were held 1-1 at Etihad Stadium but the match was marred by disciplinary problems with two reds being shown to Man Utd players.

Man Utd were reduced to 10 men in the 22nd min when Andre Ayew was sent off for a late tackle on Yaya Toure. Despite 10 men, Man Utd were ahead just before half-time through Hernandez powerful effort.

Man City came into the second-half very strongly and their efforts paid off when substitute Gareth Barry equalised for Man City in the 60th min with a shot from 18 yards out. Man Utd were then reduced to 9 men when Phil Jones received his second yellow of the match in the 91st min.

Although we manage a draw with Man City but were frustrated with the two reds.

Premier League – Fulham (H)

Formation: 4-3-3

Line-Up: Anders Lindegaard, Rafael, Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans, Fabio, Antonio Valencia, Anderson, Park Ji-Sung, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov
Subs Used: Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick

After a disappointing draw in the last two matches, Man Utd went back to their winning ways.

Dimitar Berbatov gave Man Utd the lead from a penalty spot when Dempsey fouled Valencia in the box. Javier Hernandez doubled Man Utd’s lead in the 37th min.

Bobby Zamora pulled one back for Fulham in the 49th min but Danny Welbeck secured Man Utd victory with a close range effort in the 70th min. Final score Man Utd 3 Fulham 1.

Man of the Match: Anderson
League Cup Quarter Final – Stoke City (H)

Formation: 4-3-3

Line-Up: Anders Lindegaard, Chris Smalling, Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans, Fabio, Ravel Morrison, Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick, Will Keane, Michael Owen, Federico Macheda
Subs Used: David De Gea, Paul Pogba, Danny Welbeck

Man Utd through to the next round of the League Cup after defeating Stoke 4-2.

Federico Macheda gave Man Utd the lead in the 24th min. Man Utd got their second goal thanks to an own goal from Jermaine Pennant. Stoke pulled one back when an error from Lindegaard allowed Marc Wilson to score a close range header.

Owen then extend Man Utd lead further in the 50th min. Lindegaard’s error once again allowed Stoke to pull one back through Mamady Sidibe diving header from close range. Two errors from Lindegaard, I decided to put De Gea in.

Substitute Danny Welbeck put the pressure off by scoring in the 74th min. A good game but disappointed with Lindegaard goalkeeping.
