July update

We are rolling on and still on top of the league

Match reports

Viking 3 - 0 Vålerenga
Anier
de Lanlay
Hirschfeld
Bertelsen

The game started off with Vålerenga keeper Lars Hirschfeld being unlucky after 11 minutes. Viking striker Henri Anier fired away a shot. It hit the post and bounced off Hirschfeld's back and into the goal. After 34 minutes, Trond Olsen sent away a great cross to Henri Anier, who put the ball wonderfully behind the net.

Yann-Erik de Lanlay finished it all off after 83 minutes after a crosser from Trond Erik Bertelsen.

Bertelsen was named MotM after a great match on the left-back.

Rosenborg 0 - 2 Viking
Anier
Ve. Berisha
Anier

A quite boring first half ended 0-0. There were almost no shots on target throughout the match. However, in the 60th minute, Henri Anier scores a cracker from 20m and right in the top corner to make it 1-0 to Viking. And 6 minutes before full time, Veton Berisha finished off a great counter-attack to give Viking a 2-0 victory.

Henri Anier was named MotM after his stunning goal, which also was named as Goal of the Week.

Molde 2 - 2 Viking
Frei
de Lanlay
Tripic
Angan
Hoseth
Angan

This was a match that Molde completely dominated, and Viking were lucky to get a point from the match.

Viking scored the first goal in the match after 11 minutes. Kerim Frei put the ball in the back of the net from 7m out. This was the only thing that happened in the first half.

In the second half, it took Molde's Zlatko Tripic four minutes to equalize. Twelve minutes later Molde went 2 - 1 up after a great midfield run from Davy Claude Angan. Viking got their undeserved equalizer after 74 minutes, with a Yann-Erik de Lanlay goal. Magne Hoseth was sent off after a horrible two-footed tackle after 84 minutes, but Viking didn't manage to get a winning goal.

Angan was named MotM after his magnificent goal.

Viking 1 - 0 Strømsgodset
de Lanlay
Lædre Bjørdal

This was a match with very few chances, and the winning goal was scored after 88 minutes. Yann-Erik de Lanlay but the ball past the keeper via the post.

Johan Lædre Bjørdal was named MotM after great defensive work for Viking.

Table

We're still on top, but still only on goal difference. Hopefully that will change soon.

Viking - Sogndal
Haugesund - Viking

Viking - Brann

Match of the Month:

Please leave a comment :-)
Hey guys, just giving you some information about this story.

I will not be able to update the story so often anymore, because I today school started again here in Norway. It means that I'll have less time to play FM.

Will however try to update approx. 5 days/week. It will be clearer within a few weeks. I can mabye get the chance to updater more often in the first couple of weeks, but we'll see.

Hope you like my story and want to continue reading it :-)

Semi-final glory for Viking

Viking is ready for the cup semi-final after defeating bitter rivals Brann 2 - 0 in the quarter-final. The match was a very exciting one with a lot of chances both ways.

Viking will face Molde in Stavanger for the semi-final clash. The match will be played 26th September.

News update

de Lanlay signs new contract with Viking

After a lot of speculations of him leaving Viking, Yann-Erik de Lanlay today stopped all speculations after signing a new contract. He has signed for 4 new years, which will keep him in Viking until 2016. Both Norwegian and European clubs were interested in the young Norwegian, but de Lanlay and his agent contacted Viking's manager themselves to sit down and discuss a new contract.

Bertelsen injured in training

Left-back Trond Erik Bertelsen got a strain injury in training earlier this week and has been ruled out for two months. Bertelsen will miss the cup semi-final against Molde on 26th September.

August update

August is finished, and this was a month which didn't start very well, but we shaped up later in the month.

Match reports

Tippeligaen
Sandnes Ulf 1 - 0 Viking
Skogseid
Skogseid
Frejd

This was a horrible start to the month. A defeat to our rivals, and a poor performance from everyone in the team.

After just 15 minutes, Håkon Skogseid made a clumsy mistake and put the ball in his own net. 8 minutes later, he made his day worse with a two-footed tackle and was deservely shown the red card. After this nothing special happened, and Viking struggled with being a man less than Sandnes Ulf.

Edier Frejd played well in his centre back position and was named MotM.

Viking 1 - 0 Sogndal
Nisja
Bertelsen

Viking was keen on revenging last week's embarassing defeat, and started with a bang. After seven minutes, Trond Erik Bertelsen passed a free kick to Vidar Nisja who fired it away to the top corner. Viking kept pushing on, but couldn't get the ball in the goal. At the end of the match, Sogndal pushed on and got a lot of chances, but they didn't get the ball in either.

Bertelsen got an assist and played great at the left back, and was named MotM.

Haugesund 1 - 6 Viking
Anier
Lædre Bjørdal
Va. Berisha
Bertelsen
Bjørnbakk
Anier

The Battle of Rogaland turned out to be a fiest of a football match.

The goal show started after 9 minutes, with Johan Lædre Bjørdal sliding in from a corner to put the ball behind the keeper. Just three minutes later, Henri Anier scored his first of the day. Approx. 20 minutes later, Anier scored his 2nd for the day. Haugesund's Martin Bjørbakk got a consulation goal after 36 minutes, leaving the half-time result to be 1 - 3.

Henri Anier got his hat-trick after 64 minutes, and 15 minutes later, Valon Berisha sent away a shot that creeped into the nearest post. Trond Erik Bertelsen made the humiliation complete with a great free kick to make it 6 - 1 to the guests.

With a hat-trick in his name, Henri Anier was named MotM.

Norwegian Cup Quarter-final
Viking 2 - 0 Brann
Lædre Bjørdal
El Fakiri
Va. Berisha

A very exciting cup tie, and a very exciting derby.

After 33 minutes, Kerim Frei got Viking a penalty. Valon Berisha stepped up to take it, but he missed it. However, Patrik Ingelsten snapped up the rebound and hit it in Hassan El Fakiri who put it in to his own net. Eight minutes later, Johan Lædre Bjørdal scored Viking's 2nd for the night. Afterwards Brann was trying and trying to get back in the game, but it didn't help, and Viking proceeded to the next round.

Table

We're luckily still on top despite losing a match this month. With only ten league matches left, it looks like it will be an exciting end to the season.

Five of the best for Berisha

In the 1st Round of the Norwegian Cup, young striker Veton Berisha showed his worth after scoring all five goals in Viking's cup victory against Kopervik. He set new team record for most goals scored in one match. The previous record holder was Morten Nielsen.

Viking will face Steinkjer in the 2nd Round.

Transfer news

Berisha joins Hertha Berlin

Viking and Hertha Berlin have come to an agreement for a transfer for midfielder Valon Berisha. Berisha delivered a transfer request earlier this season and wanted a move to a bigger club. The fee is reported to be £2,000,000. Berisha will join Hertha Berlin on the 1st July.

Jarstein hands in transfer request

Viking's goalkeeper Rune Almenning Jarstein shocked everyone today with handing in a transfer request. The Norwegian keeper is keen on a move to a bigger club. Jarstein should be an attractive player on the market because of spot in Norway's starting XI. Reports tells that Viking wants at least £1.6 million for Jarstein.
