After a stunning second season which brought three trophies to bring the silverware tally in Connolly's Villa tenure to four, the Northern Irishman is honoured at the end of the season awards gala.

On receiving his award, Connolly had this to say -

"I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me to win this award, I'm truly honoured. The players have been brilliant - they worked their nuts off from the first kick back in August and...."

A visibly intoxicated Eric Cantona stumbles on to the stage and interrupts his manager's speech...

CANTONA: "Jason, I'm really happy for you and I'm a let you finish but Mancini is the best manager of all time!"

Camera cuts to a shell shocked and embarrassed Roberto Mancini.

CONNOLLY: "Thanks again everyone, I'm off."

Jason Connolly and the Villa board are straight out of the blocks in the transfer market to bolster the squad ahead of their Champions League campaign.

ARRIVALS

Morgan Schneiderlin joins from Southampton after two very impressive Premiership seasons at St. Mary's in a deal worth £9.25m.

Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross arrives for a gigantic £19m alongside England team mate Ryan Bertrand on loan for the season from Chelsea.

Jack Butland crosses the city in a £4.9m deal from Villa's fiercest rivals - Birmingham City.

A £13m deal for Southampton's Gaston Ramirez is agreed but the Uruguayan breaks an ankle at the World Cup therefore putting the transfer on ice until at least January.

DEPARTING

Karim Ait Fana leaves for Everton for £8m due to the emergence of Tom Ince, while Butland's arrival sends Brad Guzan to Burnley for £5m.

Chelsea bid £10.75m for Cristian Tello which is rejected by the Villa hierarchy.

I'd watch out, you might have a stalker on your case :P
Hahaha I could have worse stalking me ;)

Still stuck on this Bent thing... Don't know whether to sell him or not.

Don't wanna lose him on a free in January but I'm not giving a 31yr old £110,000 p/w!

Sell him and look at a younger, fresher striker. You don't want to waste your club's budget on one player when you can have two plus players for that budget.
Yeah I know what you mean - I want to get a good English core coming through - hence the Ince, Shawcross, Bertrand and Butland signings.

Mason Bennett is looking good and is off to Blackburn on loan for 7 months.

Any strikers you'd recommend?
can i have a screenshot of benteke ?
what about walcott as a striker? if he would want to join? he's lethal up top
Yeah, maybe take a look at Marcus Maddison or Adam Campbell both of them being absolute beast up top!
