Players: Present and Future
A few readers have asked to see certain player attributes and Liverbird has always set me the difficult task of selecting my “best” player ever since I took charge of the club. I will share players who have been requested but also a couple who are going to be vital to any future success we have. There will also be a send off to an Anfield legend.
The Present
Jack Robinson has been mentioned a couple of times as he does start with the tag of wonderkid. Jack is one of the most reliable left backs I have encountered with two seasons ago him achieving an average rating of 7.20 over 23 appearances. With Jose Enrique potentially leaving the club Jack will be expected to be playing a lot more often and at an even higher standard. What may hamper him is that his current and potential ability is two stars but I am confident his attributes can significantly improve despite this if he is given game time.
Kyriakos has been a sensation since he joined the club with his attributes increasing game after game. He is now one of the first names on the team sheet and his attributes clearly show why. He is an absolute rock at the back and his partnership with Raphael Varane will become key to our success over the next few seasons. He will certainly be captain at some point in his career at Anfield but I am more tempted to wait another season or two until he has got more experience, especially playing in Europe.
Jonjo Shelvey has been one of the most consistent players I have in my side. He has been so adaptable but seems to have found his place in the side as the deep lying playmaker in my first choice tactic and central midfielder (role set to defensive) in my second choice tactic. He is supposedly only playing at a level of two and a half stars with potential of reaching three stars. In my honest opinion I think he will exceed those expectations, especially with the chance of Steven Gerrard retiring so a void will need to be filled. I believe Jonjo Shelvey can do this.
This player is the future of the Liverpool FC. He is unbelievable! He is currently playing at a three star level but has the potential to reach four and a half stars which I am 100% sure he will reach and potentially exceed. His blistering pace allows him to just skip past challenges and with work being done on his finishing in training he is getting the just rewards through the goals he scores. I will be thinking carefully over the next few months of what to get him to focus on so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Coutinho is getting better and better and it is clear that he has settle more into English football as his performances are dramatically improving. He ended off the season in great form so I am hoping that his continues for a very long time as he may also be a possible replacement for the potentially departing Steven Gerrard. I think there is a lot more to come from this player and he definitely has an exciting future ahead of him.
The Future
As I have hinted in the present feature of this update but Steven Gerrard has decided to call time on his illustrious career with Liverpool FC. Steven’s ability was never in question but I need to think about the next couple of seasons as what can be done to ensure that our major success continues for the long term. Steven Gerrard, despite being the amazing player he is, did not fit into my plans which have taken me a very long time to establish. This decision as resulted in his contract not being renewed but instead he has been signed on at the club as a coach. His staff attributes are very poor but I am sure having him still around the club will have an influence on the future talent coming up through the ranks.
In real life Steven Gerrard to me is one of the best players to have ever put on a Liverpool FC shirt. I think it is going to be a huge shame that he will retire in the not too distant future and I am 98% sure that he will not taste Barclays Premier League success that he rightly deserves. Long live the legend. YNWA!
I have decided to break my transfer ethos and spend over £30 million pounds on a player. I have decided that bringing in a player to step into Steven Gerrard’s boots is an extremely important task that needed to be completed as soon as possible. Jack Wilshere will bring a lot to the side in terms of how young he is (24 years of age) and how he good he really is. He has unbelievable attributes that will improve an already successful side. He will automatically be going into the advanced playermaker position of my first choice tactics and careful consideration will be given to whether I hamper him with the captaincy or allow him a season or two to settle into the Liverpool FC way of playing.

Another signing brought into the club is Livio Martelli who has been brought in due to his amazing potential. He will not necessarily see much game time this coming season but instead he will be expected to learn from the quality defenders we already possess. The best thing about this deal is that he did not cost a thing. I am very excited to see what he can contribute to the side over the coming years and he will definitely put up a fight against Jack Robinson for the left back position.
