2013-03-24 01:54#86915 Blue : FINALLY managed to catch up with this fantastic story! Great work James, keep it up :)

I better repay the favour then and get reading yours so I am up to date. Thanks for catching up.

2013-03-24 05:47#86930 Liverbird : Was Wilshere injured or something? He wasn't in the starting lineup, which is odd, 'cause he's Arsenal's best player. :P

About the tactics, have you altered any of the player instructions? What match prep, OIs and shouts do you use?

Congratulations on the Champions League win, I hope to see this story(and the cup winning!) go on longer. :D

None of my players have set instructions given to them. The team shouts I use are run at the defence, exploit the flanks and hassle opponents. I tend to check out who the opposition players are then determine what instructions I should use. I hope this answers your questions.

Players: Present and Future

A few readers have asked to see certain player attributes and Liverbird has always set me the difficult task of selecting my “best” player ever since I took charge of the club. I will share players who have been requested but also a couple who are going to be vital to any future success we have. There will also be a send off to an Anfield legend.

The Present

Jack Robinson has been mentioned a couple of times as he does start with the tag of wonderkid. Jack is one of the most reliable left backs I have encountered with two seasons ago him achieving an average rating of 7.20 over 23 appearances. With Jose Enrique potentially leaving the club Jack will be expected to be playing a lot more often and at an even higher standard. What may hamper him is that his current and potential ability is two stars but I am confident his attributes can significantly improve despite this if he is given game time.

Kyriakos has been a sensation since he joined the club with his attributes increasing game after game. He is now one of the first names on the team sheet and his attributes clearly show why. He is an absolute rock at the back and his partnership with Raphael Varane will become key to our success over the next few seasons. He will certainly be captain at some point in his career at Anfield but I am more tempted to wait another season or two until he has got more experience, especially playing in Europe.

Jonjo Shelvey has been one of the most consistent players I have in my side. He has been so adaptable but seems to have found his place in the side as the deep lying playmaker in my first choice tactic and central midfielder (role set to defensive) in my second choice tactic. He is supposedly only playing at a level of two and a half stars with potential of reaching three stars. In my honest opinion I think he will exceed those expectations, especially with the chance of Steven Gerrard retiring so a void will need to be filled. I believe Jonjo Shelvey can do this.

This player is the future of the Liverpool FC. He is unbelievable! He is currently playing at a three star level but has the potential to reach four and a half stars which I am 100% sure he will reach and potentially exceed. His blistering pace allows him to just skip past challenges and with work being done on his finishing in training he is getting the just rewards through the goals he scores. I will be thinking carefully over the next few months of what to get him to focus on so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Coutinho is getting better and better and it is clear that he has settle more into English football as his performances are dramatically improving. He ended off the season in great form so I am hoping that his continues for a very long time as he may also be a possible replacement for the potentially departing Steven Gerrard. I think there is a lot more to come from this player and he definitely has an exciting future ahead of him.

The Future

As I have hinted in the present feature of this update but Steven Gerrard has decided to call time on his illustrious career with Liverpool FC. Steven’s ability was never in question but I need to think about the next couple of seasons as what can be done to ensure that our major success continues for the long term. Steven Gerrard, despite being the amazing player he is, did not fit into my plans which have taken me a very long time to establish. This decision as resulted in his contract not being renewed but instead he has been signed on at the club as a coach. His staff attributes are very poor but I am sure having him still around the club will have an influence on the future talent coming up through the ranks.

In real life Steven Gerrard to me is one of the best players to have ever put on a Liverpool FC shirt. I think it is going to be a huge shame that he will retire in the not too distant future and I am 98% sure that he will not taste Barclays Premier League success that he rightly deserves. Long live the legend. YNWA!

I have decided to break my transfer ethos and spend over £30 million pounds on a player. I have decided that bringing in a player to step into Steven Gerrard’s boots is an extremely important task that needed to be completed as soon as possible. Jack Wilshere will bring a lot to the side in terms of how young he is (24 years of age) and how he good he really is. He has unbelievable attributes that will improve an already successful side. He will automatically be going into the advanced playermaker position of my first choice tactics and careful consideration will be given to whether I hamper him with the captaincy or allow him a season or two to settle into the Liverpool FC way of playing.
Transfer Fee: £33.5 million

Another signing brought into the club is Livio Martelli who has been brought in due to his amazing potential. He will not necessarily see much game time this coming season but instead he will be expected to learn from the quality defenders we already possess. The best thing about this deal is that he did not cost a thing. I am very excited to see what he can contribute to the side over the coming years and he will definitely put up a fight against Jack Robinson for the left back position.
Transfer Fee: Free
CA: PA:
Wow, Jack Robinson looks much better than at the start! Maybe I should promote him to the first team in my save.

Wilshere is probably one of the very few players that could replace Stevie adequately. And with that transfer fee and thoes wages, he better! :P

Also, thanks for answering my questions :D

World Ranking

I have explained in a previous post that my aim, now I have managed to win the majority of the available trophies (still yet to win the European Super Cup), that I want to dislodge Real Madrid and FC Barcelona from the top of the world rankings. I feel that once I have accomplished this then my time with Liverpool FC could come to a potential end with me definitely having got the club back to the past.

I have finally managed to dislodge Real Madrid from third place and I will need to ensure we have another successful season so we can retain second place. I do however think that if we manage to retain the Champions League for a third season in a row that this might just creep up above FC Barcelona.

My Accomplishments

If I remember correctly PaukerJ wanted to know what I had manage to achieve in my time at the Anfield club so far in the four seasons that I have been in charge.

I have managed to win the Manager of the Year award four years in a row which is a brilliant personal achievement. Club wise, we have managed to obtain 17 trophies for the cabinet with the silver trophy being our finish in the European Super Cup. The cabinet is definitely a full one.

I am extremely proud of my career statistics which read very positively. We are still yet to lose 20 games which, in four seasons, is a tremendous feat. I am sure it will eventually creep over the 20 mark but I do hope it isn’t anytime soon. Another invincible season in the Barclays Premier League is a possibility. The goals for shows the attacking prowess we have and I am so glad that I decided not to depart company with Luis Suarez but instead he has formed an amazing partnership and understanding with Fabio Borini and Edinson Cavani.
Great stats there James :)
2013-03-24 14:30#86987 Blue : Great stats there James :)

Overall I am quite happy with them. The win percentage is going to be low due to my first season in charge which was not a undefeated season in the Premier League. I do hope the percentage does increase as the seasons go on but for now, I'm happy.

Thanks for reading. I will get round to reading yours soon :) Promise!

Well a big thank you not only goes to you Liverbird but also every other person who has taken the time to read my story. I am so glad to have reached such a huge landmark as I didn't think this story would even get past 1000. I hope everyone continues to enjoy this story as I hope there is a lot more to come from it, with twists and turns coming very soon.

I am very happy with my own personal statistics but I do prefer to see the team achieving success, which they have done so far. I don't plan on purchasing any players for the next two to three seasons as I feel I have a solid team, with depth, that can carry on the success and win those trophies you are predicting I will win. In two or three seasons I hopefully will have a rather large transfer budget that can be spent on young players for the long term future so I don't have to invest and improve it every season.

Thanks for reading as always Sonalexwild.
