City had only lost 2 games in 33 games but since winning the league, City have now lost 2 out of 2. After the crushing derby defeat, City faced their Champions League opponents in the league and didn’t really show up. Kinkladze handed a debut to 16 year old centre back Andy Charles, who is labeled the next Tony Adams, and he impressed at the back but City struggled and although they got back into it, Aguero gave away a penalty with 5 minutes to go and City lost again.

An early goal set the tone for this game, and it was Manchester City who scored it. Wellington Nem scored in the first minute of the game and that was it from then on, two more goals in the first half from Nastasic were enough to send City into their first ever Champions League Final, where they will face a very familiar team, Manchester United. Nastasic was taken off at half time as a yellow card would have ruled him out of the Final, and Aguero played no part in the game as he was in the same situation.
