Balotelli at Q.P.R :O
Funny choice, I didn't think he would do that in FM :P
Sneijder could turn out to be a class signing mate :)

Pre-Season 2014/15

City’s pre-season begins with a training camp in the USA, where they will face the New York Red Bulls before travelling back to Manchester to face Watford. City will then face an away trip against Wrexham, before another home friendly against Atletico Madrid, after facing a Spanish side at home, City will then travel to Spain for their final friendly before the Community Shield and play Alcorcon.

City’s pre-season didn’t quite start off how they would have planned in terms of results but a decent performance against the Red Bulls will make most forget about the final score. The game finished as a 1-1 draw with Matija Nastasic scoring City’s goal. Just a note to say that Frank Lampard played and scored for City’s reserve side in a Friendly game against West Ham that finished 2-2.

A home game against Watford was next and City controlled the flow of the game but only managed to grab one goal, coming from Gareth Bale in the first half. Daniele De Rossi went off injured during the game and will miss 3-4 days.

An away trip to Wrexham was next on the agenda, and a mix of experienced and young players were on show for City and they dominated the game from start to finish, this time scoring a few more goals. City won 4-0 with goals from Humberto, Lescott, Toure and Silva.

A full strength City side took on Atletico Madrid at the Etihad Stadium, and City showed their class by beating the Madrid side 4-0, with a hat trick from World Cup Winner Edinson Cavani and one from Gareth Bale.

City travelled to Spain to take on Alcorcon in their final pre-season game, a strong squad was named and it showed as City cruised to a 7-0 victory, a goal in the first half from Aguero was followed by one from de Jong in the second half, and when Aguero got injured and Cavani came on, the Uruguayan took it as an opportunity to shine and bagged himself 5 goals in his 31 minutes on the pitch, the striker also earned himself that elusive 10.0 rating. The injury suffered by Aguero will be a massive blow to Man City as he fractured his wrist and will miss the first 6-7 weeks of the new season.

City Bring Back van der Wiel on Loan

After spending the last 6 months of last season on loan at City and then going back to PSG, not many people expected Gregory van der Wiel to arrive back at the Etihad Stadium, but today City released a statement saying that van der Wiel will be returning to the Champions for another season.

City Sign Forster

Manchester City have completed the £9.5m signing of Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster. After the retirement of Brad Friedel, City manager Georgi Kinkladze felt that Joe Hart needed someone to challenge him for the starting spot and he has found his man.

Forster joins City after four seasons at Celtic, although he spent 2 of them on loan, and will be hoping to impress Kinkladze enough to get given a chance to play ahead of Joe Hart. Forster has also said he hopes the move back to England might boost his England international chances, “I’m happy to join City, they are a massive side, challenging for every trophy that they enter. I am looking forward to working with Joe Hart every day and improving my game but I’m also hoping to push him for a starting place. I would also love for my move to lead to me being given a chance to play for England, that is my dream but again I’d have to overtake Joe for that position too”

Sunday 10th August 2014 – Arsenal v Manchester City (Community Shield)

http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/jj595/MCFCDAP/CS_zpsce96b7eb.png

With the first trophy of the season up for grabs, FA Cup winners Arsenal take on League winners Manchester City at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal will be hoping to win their first Community Shield since 2004, while City will be hoping to win back the trophy they won two seasons ago in a brilliant 6-0 win against Chelsea.

Arsenal come into the game with only one injury concern and that is back up ‘keeper Lukasz Fabianski. In the Arsenal squad will be their two big new signings, Ladislav Krejci who they paid £13.75m for from Dortmund and former Liverpool midfield Lucas Leiva, who they parted with £26.5m to bring to the Emirates.

Manchester City come into the game with four big injuries, with Sergio Aguero, Daniele De Rossi, Gareth Bale and new signing Wesley Sneijder all missing for City. With City’s main summer signing missing from the squad, they may turn to former Chelsea man Frank Lampard in the middle of the field, while City may turn to loan signing Gregory van der Wiel at right back.

MCFC Subs – Forster, Zabaleta, Varane, Barry, Milner, de Jong, Junior

Arsenal Subs – Reid, Giroud, Ramsey, Sagna, Gervinho, Cazorla, Dragovic

First Half

A reasonably dull first half as both teams cancelled each other out, but one moment of brilliance from Cavani put Yaya Toure in the open to score and give City a 1-0 lead at half time. Samir Nasri had a goal disallowed just before half time for offside and the linesman made a good decision in ruling it offside.

Second Half

A scrappy second half saw both side’s waste possession and hardly any chances created. City had their best opportunity straight from the kick off as Yaya Toure missed a chance from 12 yards after a great passing move. Arsenal put City under pressure in the final 5 minutes but Llorente missed a chance with his head from a corner. As the final whistle blew, it was City fans who began to celebrate as their team were bringing home another trophy under Georgi Kinkladze. City have been hit with the bad news that Wellington Nem will miss the first 4 weeks of the season with a twisted ankle picked up during the game, and Luuk de Jong will also miss the opening fixture of the season.

Sunday 17th August 2014 – Manchester City v Queens Park Rangers (Premier League)

With injuries all over City’s first team they have been forced to name three inexperienced players on the bench for the opening game of the season.

MCFC Starting XI – Hart, Richards, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy; Nasri, Barry, Toure, Milner; Silva; Cavani SUBS – Forster, Zabaleta, Varane, Lampard, Serrano, Marcio Roberto, Blanco

QPR Starting XI – Larson, Bosingwa, Onuoha, Ifa, Ferdinand; Taarabt, Livermore, Faurlin, Granero; Cisse, Balotelli SUBS – Julio Cesar, Magri, Troare, Hoilett, Zamora, Emmanual-Thomas, Kim

An unbelievable game to start the season, QPR took only 6 minutes to take the lead before City raced into a 3-1 lead just after half time. Cisse made it 3-2, before two more goals from City made it 5-2, Cisse then scored his hat trick but his goal was cancelled out by Milner who made it 6-3. Balotelli’s return to the Etihad was disappointing for him as he had no influence on the game and was substituted with 15 minutes to go.

Final Score – Manchester City 6 (Nastasic 13, Nasri 24, Cavani 50, 78(p), Silva 69, Milner 82) Queens Park Rangers 3 (Cisse 6, 66, 80)

MOTM – Djibril Cisse

Attendance – 46,526
What a crazy game! I'm glad you got the win, and comfortably in the end too! Keep marching on :)
I'd like to repeat what Justice said, it was a crazy game. I think that Varane should be getting more time than Nastasic.
It was a strange way to start a season but a good three points!

Nastasic was my player of the year last year and has never put a foot wrong so thats why he plays, plus he is class! I'll post some screenshots of him and Varane later :-) i also like a right and left foot combo at the back
Dat game!
