Crystal Palace Announced Departures

Just days after being appointed as the new Crystal Palace manager, Vinnie Jones seems eager to make his own mark on the team as he allowed the departure of several first team members of the squad.

Paddy McCarthy was allowed to leave for Derby for €900k. This is viewed as a surprising decision as McCarthy was the club's captain prior to the appointment of Vinnie Jones.

Glenn Murray also left the club for Middlesbrough in a deal worth €800k. The departure of the 29 years old striker left the club short up front with the only option being loanee David Goodwillie. The club was expected to announce the signing of a new striker although there is no clue of who that person might be.

Another trio of departures being Stuart O'Keefe who left for Crewe in a deal worth €100k, Jermaine Easter was signed by Preston for €170k while David Wright joins Paddy McCarthy to Derby in a deal worth €200k.

Club manager, Vinnie Jones, was expected to announce new signings sooner rather than later as the departures are seen as a step to make rooms for new signings.
Wow, shifting the team early on! How much were you given of transfer budget for you to sell this quantity of players? Anyways new signings soon?

I was given around 300k. Frankly, I just want to get rid of the players that I don't see fit and those who were injury prone. Definitely some new signings in the next few updates :)

Vinnie's Bargain Hunt

Crystal Palace boss, Vinnie Jones, have today announced the signing of three free agents.

22 years old argentinian, Federico Laurito, signed for the club on a 5 year deal worth €3.0k/week. The striker signed for Italian Serie A club, Udinese, in 2006 but couldn't quite make it into the Udinese first team squad. He spent some seasons on loan at various clubs through out his spell with Udinese before he was released after the end of last season.

Another former Italian based player, Giuseppe Mascara, is another free signing made by Jones. The attacking midfielder put pen to paper on a 1 year deal worth €8k/week. The former Napoli and Catania player have one Italian Cap to his name.

Finally is the signing of 29 years old Nigerian winger, Haruna Babangida. The former FC Barcelona youngster put pen to paper on a 1 year deal worth €4.6k/week. Babangida started his career at the famous Ajax Amsterdam academy before he was snatched by the La Masia. Touted to have a bright future, he have failed to fulfill his potential and have since played for various clubs across europe.

Well, I know one player, but I think that you will make this players great. P.S. make some profit off them :P

Those players were seen as back-ups to be honest. Hopefully Laurito will fulfill his decent PA, and i'll make profits off him. Mascara and Babangida will leave for free by the end of the season. ;)

Derby Signed Another Crystal Palace Player

Derby wrapped up the signing of their third Crystal Palace player in the transfer window as they announced the signing of Kagisho Dikgacoi today.

The 27 years old South African international cost Derby €1.5m and will join former teammates Paddy McCarthy and David Wright who jump ship to Derby earlier in the transfer window.

When asked about the defensive midfielder's departure, The Eagles boss, Vinnie Jones, said "He was a good lad, a good player. But when Derby tabled that offer, considering that Dikgacoi tends to get injured every now and then, I just couldn't say no. And before you asked, yes, I have a replacement in mind".

Vinnie Went Shopping In Brazil

Crystal Palace have completed the signings of Brazilian trio Adryan, Muralha and Wescley.

18 years old Adryan and 19 years old Muralha both played for the Flamengo Under 18 side. The highly rated duo was signed for a reported fee of €1.0m each as Crystal Palace activated the release clause in their contract.

Adryan is an attacking midfielder by trade and is expected to walk straight into the Crystal Palace 1st team. The deal is seen as a huge coup by Crystal Palace as Adryan was touted to be a full Brazilian international in the future. Crystal Palace paid a lump sum of €500k to his former club while another €500k will be paid throughout the next 48 months. Adryan put pen to paper on a 5 year deal worth €8.75k/week.

Muralha meanwhile is a more defensive minded midfielder. Crystal Palace is believed to have fend off the competition from Italian giant, Internazionale, for the signature of the defensive midfielder. Touted as the next Lucas Leiva, Muralha is seen as a player who is not just competent in the art of defending but is also comfortable with the ball on his feet. A good passer of the ball, Muralha is already a full Brazilian Under 20 international. The fees involved in bringing him to Selhurst Park is thought to be similar with Adryan with a lump sum of €500k paid to his former club while another €500k will be paid throughout the next 48 months. Muralha put pen to paper on a 5 year deal worth €15.0k/week.

28 years old Wescley was signed on a 5 months loan deal from Ponte Preta. Crystal Palace will pay a monthly fee of €1.5k throughout loan period while also covering €2.1k/week of his wages. The defender's contract with Ponte Preta is expiring by the end of December this year and it is believed that Crystal Palace coach Vinnie Jones view the loan deal as an 'interview' period for Wescley. Should he impress during the spell, he will surely earn himself a contract offer from Crystal Palace.

Speaking on the signings, Vinnie Jones said:

"These signings show that the club is moving in the right direction. The signings of Adryan and Muralha epitomize the club's philosophy in investing in youth. Both are great prospect and both are chased by big clubs. But they have confidence in our project and they chose to sign for us. I am sure that they will all settle in well in the club, we already have Brazilian Andre Moritz and he'll help the lads in settling."

Verdict:

We remain unbeaten in the pre season. The lads did well against the bigger team (Heerenveen & Besiktas). But lackluster performance against the likes of Crawley and Exeter concerns me despite of the 4-0 win against FC Halifax.
Nice pre-season results. Is Doria coming in January? Any ways, I think that you may finish first in the Npower Championship

Doria's Imminent Arrival

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Botafogo's defender Doria activating the release clause in his contract woorth €600k. The deal will see a €300k lump sum being paid to Botafogo while another €300k will be paid across the next 48 months.

The 17 years old Brazilian will arrive in Selhurst Park in January 2013 due to the rule set by FIFA prohibiting players under the age of 18 to move across continents.

Doria is highly rated in his homeland and his arrival saw an increasing number of Brazilian players at the club since the appointment of Vinnie Jones as manager.
