Zaha For England!

Crystal Palace teenage sensation, Wilfried Zaha, current run of excellent form for his club had some quarters urging England national team manager, Roy Hodgson, to give him his international debut.

The current England under 21 international have started the season in brilliant form, scoring 4 goals and creating another 3 in 7 appearances. Roy Hodgson might do well to give Zaha his debut as early as possible considering that he also holds an Ivory Coast passport.

Vinnie's Verdict

A poor month by our standard. I am becoming more and more concern at our inability to defend properly. Hopefully Doria's arrival in January will fix that. Even worse, we allowed 10-man Ipswich to equalized in the dying minutes from a corner kick. Hence, no Crystal Palace Player of the Month award this time as no one deserved it.

Crystal Palace Announced Hiljemark Deal

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign Swedish midfielder, Oskar Hiljemark, from Elfsborg.

Oskar Hiljemark was transfer listed for €950k at his club and Crystal Palace decided to meet their demand paying €250k initial fee with the remaining €700k to be paid across the next 48 months. Hiljemark put pen to paper on a 5 year deal worth €12.75k/week.

The highly rated midfielder is believed to be also chased by PSV and Ajax and decision to sign for Crystal Palace came as a shock for some quarters. The midfielder will arrive when the transfer window reopen in Januar 2013.
Great signing mate! I tried to buy him but he left Sweden for Holland!

Wolves extended their lead to 10 points ahead of 2nd placed Burnley as the hope for a league title fades for Crystal Palace. The fight for the 2nd automatic promotion place and the play-off spot are fierce as only 10 points separating the team placed 2nd and 10th.

NPower Championship Young Player of the Month &
Crystal Palace Player of the Month

No guessing who...

When the team isn't exactly performing well, he's been a consistent performer carrying the team alone at times. Scored 2 goals and creating a couple more, always dangerous on the ball. Deserved the award.

Vinnie's Verdict

2nd month of serious inconsistency. Our defenders were shite at times letting 5 goals away in 6 matches. I can't wait for Doria's arrival.

No signs of slowing down by runaway league leader, Wolves. Leaving us with a realistic hope of 2nd place, and that is being ambitious.

Crystal Palace Player of the Month

Bryan Rabello

Back from a long injury lay-off, Rabello slot in seamlessly into the Crystal Palace first team squad. Playing as an advance playmaker on the left flank, Rabello bags 3 goals a couple of assists in what was a very good month for the talented playmaker

Vinnie's Verdict

I am pleased with the team performance this month. After 2 defeats, we started winning and keeping momentum. With runaway leader, Wolves, quite some points infront, our realistic target would be the 2nd automatic promotion place. 3 points behind 2nd Blackburn, not bad.

Doria and Hiljemark Arrived at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace welcomed two of their new signings. Brazilian defender, Doria, and Swedish midfielder Oskar Hiljemark.

Both players were seen in Selhurst Park today to bolster the club's promotion push. The two arrived at a combined fees of approximately €1.60 million and can expect to be involved in the first team straight away. The deal for the two players were agreed earlier in the season after the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, David Goodwillie have returned to Blackburn as his loan deal expires while Owen Garvan and Yannick Bolasie are rumored to be on their way out. Midfielder, Garvan, have seen the arrival of Hiljemark threaten his place in the first team. The winger Bolasie in the other hand have seen playing time hard to come by and should be sold sooner rather than later.

Crystal Palace Grabbed Ongenda on Loan

Crystal Palace have today announced the loan signing of french striker, Hervin Ongenda.

The highly rated 18 years old was signed on a 6 months loan deal to provide competition for Federico Laurito who is the only recognized striker in the Crystal Palace squad at the moment.

Talking about the signing, Crystal Palace boss Vinnie Jones said:

" Ongenda is a young and talented striker. He's quick and really good on the ball, a totally different type of player if compared to the strong and dominant Laurito. So he'll provide us with a different dimension. Although there is no transfer clause inserted in the deal, should he perform well with us, I would seriously consider making the deal permanent"

Crystal Palace Offload Duo

Crystal Palace have announced the departure of Owen Garvan and Yannick Bolasie.

Owen Garvan have made 18 appearances for the club this season but recently loss his place to the highly rated Jon Williams. The recent signing of Oskar Hiljemark left him further down the pecking order. He left for Scottish club, Hearts for €800k.

Yannick Bolasie meanwhile joins Sheff Utd for €250k. This departure was expected as he failed to make a single appearances for the club since Vinnie Jones took over.

Vinnie's Verdict

A really really poor month. We struggled for consistency throughout the season. No win in a month saw us drop from 3rd to 6th and got knocked out of the FA Cup. Luckily we are still in the play-off place with our promotion rival dropping points too. No wins, hence, no player of the month.
Ouch, harsh but you can lead Crystal Palace to the PL!

After 2 months of poor form, we were lucky to still be in the playoff spot. Apparently, the overall form of teams in the Championship this season is quite inconsistent and that saved us from going even further down

We stayed at the 6th place despite getting some good results in March. 6 points off the 2nd place with 7 matches to go which is our only realistic hope for an automatic promotion spot.

Crystal Palace Player of the Month

Adryan

The brazilian midfielder started to show his true potential recently. He grabbed 3 goals in 5 matches and managed to create another 3 goals as well. His overall play was excellent and I am banking on him and Zaha to lead our promotion fight.

Vinnie's Verdict

After two months of poor performance, I was pretty relieved that we managed to turn the form around. The arrival of Doria and Hiljemark proved to be vital. Doria helped to shore up the defense while Hiljemark provides a healthy competition for Jon Williams and Muralha. I have confidence with all three of them with Jedinak as their back up.
