Breaking: Sunderland's New Owner
In a press conference today, Sunderland chairman
Ellis Short has revealed his decision to step down as chairman of the Black Cats.
First getting involved with Sunderland in 2009, Short became the official chairman and owner in 2009 after the 2008-09 season.
Short has announced that an unknown man dubbed
Nick Dabool has bought every single thing of his that involved Sunderland and will now assume full control of the club as it's new official chairman and owner, much to the shock of Sunderland fans.
Dabool, later revealed to have been a star in the lowest leagues of England in a short twelve-year playing career, was born in Israel but raised in Ireland, and holds dual nationality. The 42-year-old has coached at several lower league clubs but is otherwise an unknown within the footballing world.
In his first interview, Dabool admitted that he "knew next to nothing" about Sunderland but will be trying his best to improve on what Short had done with the club.
However, another revelation that came shortly after his unveiling is that Dabool holds the title of the third richest man in Israel and fans will be hoping his investments will make up for his less-than-impressive knowledge about Sunderland.
