Don't know why, but I've got this strange feeling, he'll play for... Ireland? Not sure why though, and I'm probably wrong...

BLUE! Can't wait for this to get going, will be a great story for sure. But seriously, you're going to do another story to knock the socks off the others stories on the site. ;)

Good luck, if you need it. :P
Im looking forward to this Blue, It'll be legendary! Keep up the good work and lead those Irishmen to glory! :D
Can't believe the amount of support I'm getting already. Thanks guys :D

Ireland Sack Trapattoni

The Irish FA have confirmed that national team manager Giovanni Trapattoni has left the post after Ireland's poor performance in the 2012 European Championships. Ireland went out in the group stages, and scored only one goal in their three games, however, facing Italy, Croatia, and Spain can hardly be considered easy.

Football experts are criticizing the sacking of the 73-year-old, claiming it was impossible for Ireland to have done any better against the teams they faced. Spain are the best team in the world, with Italy and Croatia not far behind, meaning Ireland getting through was extremely unlikely. The Irish FA, however have decided Trapattoni could have done much better, and have relieved him of his duties. They have decided to employ a new manager as soon as possible, to give him time to prepare for the World Cup Qualifiers.

The favourites for the now vacant Ireland job are David O'Leary, who has managed Leeds United and Aston Villa, Jim Magilton, a former Northern Ireland international, and the newly-retired Robbie Keane, who is said to be looking for a job.
Didn't see that coming.
They blowed in the EURO's perhaps a Long and Cox partnership up front? He's old as well.

Ireland Appoint Keane

Ireland have confirmed they have appointed Robbie Keane as their new boss to take them forwards. The 32-year-old only retired from professional football a couple of weeks ago, but the Irish FA have entrusted him with the position of national team manager.

Keane, who is Ireland’s all-time leading scorer, with 54 goals, meaning he also has more than Bobby Charlton scored for England. In his international career, Keane also made 122 appearances for Ireland, three short of Shay Given, who is Ireland’s record appearance holder.

Keane mentioned as soon as he retired that he wanted to go into football management, but will have hardly expected to get a job with such high responsibility straight away. Many pundits are questioning whether Keane can step up to the task of managing Ireland’s national team.

Keane has been charged with challenging in Ireland’s World Cup Qualifying Group, and is rumoured to be on £1.6k per week. Keane’s first game as Ireland manager will be against Estonia at the Aviva Stadium on the 15th April, which is just over a month away.
Great update, I'm looking forward to this :)
Glad to see you went with my suggestion of Robbie Keane ;)
